1 A nd Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab's children, saying,

Ахаав имаше седемдесет сина в Самария. Ииуй написа писма и ги прати в Самария до езраелските началници, до старейшините и до възпитателите на Ахаавовите деца, в които каза:

2 N ow as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master's sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour;

Щом това писмо пристигне до вас, понеже синовете на господаря ви са пред вас и имате колесници и коне, укрепен град и оръжия,

3 L ook even out the best and meetest of your master's sons, and set him on his father's throne, and fight for your master's house.

вижте кой е най-добър и най-способен от синовете на господаря ви и го поставете на бащиния му престол, и се бийте за дома на господаря си.

4 B ut they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?

Но те твърде много се уплашиха и си казаха: Ето, двамата царе не устояха пред него, а как ще успеем ние?

5 A nd he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.

И така, домоуправителят, градоначалникът, старейшините и възпитателите на децата пратиха до Ииуй да кажат: Ние сме твои слуги и ще направим всичко, каквото ни кажеш; няма да направим никого цар; направи, каквото ти се вижда угодно.

6 T hen he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king's sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.

Тогава Ииуй им писа второ писмо, в което каза: Ако сте на моя страна и ако послушате моя глас, отнемете главите на синовете на господаря ви и утре по това време елате при мене в Езраел. (А седемдесетте царски синове бяха при градските големци, които ги възпитаваха.)

7 A nd it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king's sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel.

След като писмото стигна до тях, те хванаха седемдесетте царски синове, изклаха ги, сложиха главите им в кошници и му ги пратиха в Езраел.

8 A nd there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king's sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.

И един пратеник дойде и му извести: Донесоха главите на царските синове. А Ииуй нареди: Сложете ги на два купа във входа на портата да стоят до утре.

9 A nd it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?

На сутринта той излезе, застана пред целия народ и каза: Вие сте праведни; ето, аз направих заговор против господаря си и го убих; но кой изби всички тях?

10 K now now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the Lord, which the Lord spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the Lord hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.

Знайте сега, че няма да падне на земята нищо от Господнето слово, което Господ говорѝ против Ахаавовия дом; защото Господ извърши онова, което говорѝ чрез слугата Си Илия.

11 S o Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.

И така, Ииуй порази всички останали от Ахаавовия дом в Езраел и всичките му големци, близките му приятели и свещениците му, докато не остана никой.

12 A nd he arose and departed, and came to Samaria. And as he was at the shearing house in the way,

После стана, тръгна и дойде в Самария. А по пътя, като беше близо до овчарската стригачница,

13 J ehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.

Ииуй срещна братята на Юдейския цар Охозия и попита: Кои сте вие? А те отговориха: Ние сме братя на Охозия и идваме да поздравим синовете на царя и царицата.

14 A nd he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.

Ииуй каза: Хванете ги живи. Хванаха ги живи и ги изклаха при рова на стригачницата, четиридесет и двама души; не остави нито един от тях.

15 A nd when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

А като тръгна оттам, се срещна с Йонадав, Рихавовия син, който идваше да ги посрещне. Ииуй го поздрави и му каза: Право ли е твоето сърце към мене, както е моето сърце към твоето? Йонадав отговори: Право е. Ако е така, каза Ииуй, дай си ръката. И той си подаде ръката. Ииуй го качи при себе си на колесницата и каза:

16 A nd he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord. So they made him ride in his chariot.

Ела с мен и виж ревността ми към Господа. Така го качиха в колесницата му.

17 A nd when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the Lord, which he spake to Elijah.

И когато Ииуй стигна в Самария, поразяваше всички, останали от Аахав в Самария, докато ги изтреби, според словото, което Господ говорѝ на Илия. Убийството на Вааловите пророци от Ииуй

18 A nd Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much.

Тогава Ииуй събра целия народ и му каза: Ахаав малко е служил на Ваал; Ииуй ще му служи повече.

19 N ow therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.

Сега повикайте всички пророци на Ваал, всичките му служители и жреци; никой да не отсъства, защото имам да принеса голяма жертва на Ваал; никой, който отсъства, няма да остане жив. Но Ииуй направи това с хитрост, с намерение да изтреби Вааловите служители.

20 A nd Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it.

Ииуй каза: Прогласете тържествено събрание за Ваал. И те прогласиха.

21 A nd Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another.

Ииуй прати вест по целия Израел и дойдоха всички Ваалови служители, така че не остана никой, който да не дойде. Дойдоха в капището на Ваал; и то се напълни открай докрай.

22 A nd he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.

Ииуй нареди на одеждопазителя: Извади одежди за всичките Ваалови служители. И той им извади одежди.

23 A nd Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the Lord, but the worshippers of Baal only.

Тогава Ииуй и Йонадав, Рихавовият син, влязоха във Вааловото капище. Ииуй каза на Вааловите служители: Прегледайте се и внимавайте да няма между вас някой от слугите на Йехова, а да бъдат само служители на Ваал.

24 A nd when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him.

И когато те влязоха да принесат жертви и всеизгаряния, Ииуй нареди отвън осемдесет мъже, на които каза: Който остави да избяга някой от тези хора, които доведох в ръцете ви, животът му ще се вземе вместо неговия живот.

25 A nd it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.

След като свърши принасянето на всеизгарянето, Ииуй каза на телохранителите и пълководците: Влезте, избийте ги; никой да не избяга. И телохранителите и пълководците ги избиха с острието на меча и ги изхвърлиха навън. После, като отидоха в града на Вааловото капище,

26 A nd they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.

извадиха кумирите на Вааловото капище и ги изгориха,

27 A nd they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day.

строшиха идола на Ваал, разрушиха Вааловото капище и го направиха бунище, както е до днес.

28 T hus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.

Така Ииуй изтреби Ваал от Израел.

29 H owbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan.

Но Ииуй не се отърси от греховете на Еровоам, Наватовия син, който подтикна Израел да греши, т. е. от златните телета, които бяха във Ветил и Дан.

30 A nd the Lord said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.

Тогава Господ каза на Ииуй: Понеже ти стори добре, като извърши това, което е право пред очите Ми, и постъпи с Ахаавовия дом напълно според това, което беше в сърцето Ми, затова твоите синове до четвъртото поколение ще седят на Израелевия престол.

31 B ut Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

Обаче Ииуй не внимаваше да ходи с цялото си сърце в закона на Господа, Израелевия Бог; не се отърси от греховете на Еровоам, с които подтикна Израел да греши.

32 I n those days the Lord began to cut Israel short: and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;

В това време Господ започна да къса части от Израел; защото Азаил ги порази във всички Израелеви предели -

33 F rom Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.

от Йордан на изток цялата галаадска земя, синовете на Гад, синовете на Рувим и синовете на Манасия, от Ароир при потока Арнон и Галаад и Васан.

34 N ow the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

А останалите дела на Ииуй, всичко, което извърши, и всичките му подвизи са записани в Книгата на летописите на Израелевите царе.

35 A nd Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.

Ииуй заспа с бащите си и го погребаха в Самария. И вместо него се възцари синът му Йоахаз.

36 A nd the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.

А времето, през което Ииуй царува̀ над Израел в Самария, беше двадесет и осем години.
