1 A nd they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.

Като се вдигнаха от Елим, цялото общество израелтяни дойдоха в пустинята Син, която е между Елим и Синай, на петнадесетия ден от втория месец, откакто излязоха от Египетската земя.

2 A nd the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:

А в пустинята цялото общество израелтяни роптаеха против Моисей и Аарон.

3 A nd the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

Израелтяните им казаха: По-добре да бяхме умрели от Господнята ръка в Египетската земя, когато седяхме около котлите с месо и когато ядяхме хляб до ситост; защото ни доведохте в тази пустиня, за да изморите цялото това множество от глад.

4 T hen said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

Тогава Господ каза на Моисей: Ето, ще ви изпратя хляб от небето; и ще излиза народът всеки ден да събира колкото им трябва за деня, за да ги изпитам - ще ходят ли по закона Ми, или не.

5 A nd it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.

А на шестия ден нека сготвят внесеното, което ще бъде два пъти, колкото събират всеки ден.

6 A nd Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the Lord hath brought you out from the land of Egypt:

И така, Моисей и Аарон казаха на всички израелтяни: Довечера ще познаете, че Господ ви е извел от Египетската земя;

7 A nd in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the Lord; for that he heareth your murmurings against the Lord: and what are we, that ye murmur against us?

а на сутринта ще видите славата на Господа, понеже Той чу ропота ви против Господа. Защото какво сме ние, че да роптаете против нас?

8 A nd Moses said, This shall be, when the Lord shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the Lord heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the Lord.

Моисей каза още: Това ще стане, когато Господ ви даде довечера месо да ядете и на сутринта хляб до ситост; понеже Господ чу ропота ви против Него. Защото какво сме ние? Ропотът ви не е против нас, а против Господа.

9 A nd Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the Lord: for he hath heard your murmurings.

Моисей каза на Аарон: Кажи на цялото общество израелтяни: Приближете се пред Господа, защото Той чу ропота ви.

10 A nd it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in the cloud.

А докато Аарон говореше на цялото общество израелтяни, те обърнаха погледа си към пустинята и, ето, Господнята слава се яви в облака.

11 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

И Господ каза на Моисей:

12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God.

Чух ропота на израелтяните. Говорѝ им така: Довечера ще ядете месо и на сутринта ще се наситите с хляб; и ще познаете, че Аз съм Господ, вашият Бог.

13 A nd it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.

И така, вечерта долетяха пъдпъдъци и покриха стана; а на сутринта навсякъде около стана беше паднала роса.

14 A nd when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.

След като се изпари падналата роса, по лицето на пустинята имаше дребно люспообразно нещо, тънко, като слана по земята.

15 A nd when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.

Когато израелтяните го видяха, си казаха един на друг: Какво е това? Защото не знаеха какво беше. А Моисей им каза: Това е хлябът, който Господ ви дава да ядете.

16 T his is the thing which the Lord hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents.

Ето какво заповядва Господ: Съберете от него - всеки толкова, колкото му трябва да яде, по гомор на глава според броя на хората ви; всеки да вземе за онези, които са под шатрата му.

17 A nd the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less.

И израелтяните направиха така и събраха, кой повече, кой по-малко.

18 A nd when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating.

А когато измериха събраното с гомора, който беше събрал много, нямаше излишък, и който беше събрал малко, нямаше недостиг; всеки събираше толкова, колкото му трябваше да яде.

19 A nd Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning.

Моисей им каза още: Никой да не оставя от него до сутринта.

20 N otwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them.

Обаче те не послушаха Моисей и някои оставиха от него до сутринта; но храната червяса и се вмириса; и Моисей се разгневи на израелтяните.

21 A nd they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted.

Те го събираха всяка сутрин, кой колкото му трябваше за ядене; а когато напечеше слънцето, се стопяваше.

22 A nd it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses.

А на шестия ден, когато събраха двойно количество храна, по два гомора за всеки, всички началници на обществото дойдоха и известиха на Моисей.

23 A nd he said unto them, This is that which the Lord hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the Lord: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.

А той им каза: Това е, както каза Господ. Утре е събота, свята почивка на Господа; опечете колкото искате да опечете и сварете колкото искате да сварите; и сложете настрана каквото остане за утре.

24 A nd they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein.

И така, сложиха го настрана до утрото, както заповяда Моисей, и не се развали, нито червяса.

25 A nd Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the Lord: to day ye shall not find it in the field.

Тогава Моисей им каза: Яжте това днес, защото днес е събота на Господа; днес няма да го намерите на полето.

26 S ix days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.

Шест дни ще го събирате; но седмият ден е събота, тогава няма да го има.

27 A nd it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none.

Обаче някои от народа излязоха да съберат на седмия ден, но не намериха.

28 A nd the Lord said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?

Тогава Господ попита Моисей: Докога ще отказвате да пазите заповедите Ми и законите Ми?

29 S ee, for that the Lord hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.

Вижте, понеже Господ ви даде съботата, затова на шестия ден ви даде хляб за два дни. Останете по местата си; на седмия ден никой да не излиза от мястото си.

30 S o the people rested on the seventh day.

И така, на седмия ден народът си отпочиваше.

31 A nd the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.

А Израелевият дом нарече тази храна манна; тя беше бяла и приличаше на кориандрово семе; и вкусът ѝ беше като на пита, смесена с мед.

32 A nd Moses said, This is the thing which the Lord commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt.

Тогава Моисей каза: Ето какво е заповядал Господ: Напълнете един гомор с нея, за да се пази за всичките ви поколения, за да могат и те да видят хляба, с който ви храних в пустинята, когато ви изведох от Египетската земя.

33 A nd Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the Lord, to be kept for your generations.

Моисей каза на Аарон: Вземи една стомна и я напълни с един гомор манна, постави я пред Господа, за да се пази за бъдещите ви поколения.

34 A s the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept.

И така, Аарон я постави пред плочите на свидетелството, за да се пази, както Господ заповяда на Моисей.

35 A nd the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.

И израелтяните ядоха манната четиридесет години, докато дойдоха в обещаната земя; ядоха манна, докато пристигнаха до границите на Ханаанската земя.

36 N ow an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.

А гоморът е една десета от ефата.
