1 I f a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

Ако някой открадне вол или овца и го заколи или продаде, да заплати пет вола за вола и четири овце за овцата.

2 I f a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.

(Ако крадецът бъде заварен, когато е влязъл с взлом, и го ударят, и умре, няма да бъде овъзмездено кръв за него.

3 I f the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.

Но ако слънцето е било изгряло над него, тогава ще бъде овъзмездено кръв за него.) Крадецът трябва непременно да заплати; но ако няма с какво, да бъде продаден той за откраднатото.

4 I f the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.

И ако откраднатото, било вол, осел или овца, бъде намерено живо, ще плати двойно.

5 I f a man shall cause a field or vineyard to be eaten, and shall put in his beast, and shall feed in another man's field; of the best of his own field, and of the best of his own vineyard, shall he make restitution.

Ако някой стане причина за нива или лозе да бъдат изядени, като развърже животното си и то се напасе в чужда нива, ще плати от най-доброто произведение на нивата си и от най-добрия плод на лозето си.

6 I f fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

Ако избухне огън и запали тръни, така че изгорят копни или неожънати класове, или ниви, то, който е запалил огъня, непременно ще заплати за щетите.

7 I f a man shall deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, let him pay double.

Ако някой даде на ближния си пари или някакви вещи да ги пази и те бъдат откраднати от къщата на човека, то, ако бъде намерен крадецът, той ще заплати двойно,

8 I f the thief be not found, then the master of the house shall be brought unto the judges, to see whether he have put his hand unto his neighbour's goods.

но ако не бъде намерен крадецът, тогава стопанинът на къщата ще бъде заведен пред съдиите, за да се издири дали е сложил ръка върху имота на ближния си.

9 F or all manner of trespass, whether it be for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, or for any manner of lost thing which another challengeth to be his, the cause of both parties shall come before the judges; and whom the judges shall condemn, he shall pay double unto his neighbour.

За всякакъв вид престъпление - относно вол, осел, овца, дреха или каквото и да било загубено нещо, за което би казал някой, че е негово - делото между двамата ще дойде пред съдиите; и когото осъдят съдиите, той ще плати двойно на ближния си.

10 I f a man deliver unto his neighbour an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep; and it die, or be hurt, or driven away, no man seeing it:

Ако някой даде на ближния си осел или вол, или овца, или каквото и да било животно да го пази и то умре или се нарани, или бъде откарано, без да види някой,

11 T hen shall an oath of the Lord be between them both, that he hath not put his hand unto his neighbour's goods; and the owner of it shall accept thereof, and he shall not make it good.

спорът ще бъде решен, когато пазачът се закълне в името на Господа, че не е сложил ръката си върху имота на ближния си, и стопанинът му да приеме това свидетелство, а пазачът няма да плаща.

12 A nd if it be stolen from him, he shall make restitution unto the owner thereof.

Но ако животното бъде откраднато от него, ще плати на стопанина му.

13 I f it be torn in pieces, then let him bring it for witness, and he shall not make good that which was torn.

Обаче ако бъде разкъсано от звяр, нека го донесе за свидетелство; за разкъсаното няма да плаща.

14 A nd if a man borrow ought of his neighbour, and it be hurt, or die, the owner thereof being not with it, he shall surely make it good.

Ако някой заеме от ближния си животно и то се нарани или умре в отсъствието на стопанина му, ще го заплати.

15 B ut if the owner thereof be with it, he shall not make it good: if it be an hired thing, it came for his hire.

Но ако стопанинът му е с него, няма да плаща. Ако животното е било наето с пари, ще отиде за наема си. Закон за посегателство над личността

16 A nd if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.

Ако някой прелъсти несгодена девица и легне с нея, да плати вено за нея и да я вземе за жена.

17 I f her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.

Но ако баща ѝ откаже да му я даде, да плати в пари според веното на девиците.

18 T hou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Жена магьосница да не оставиш жива.

19 W hosoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death.

Всеки скотоложник трябва да умре.

20 H e that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the Lord only, he shall be utterly destroyed.

Който жертва на когото и да било бог, освен само на Господа, да бъде обречен на изтребление.

21 T hou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Чужденец да не онеправдаваш, нито да го угнетяваш, защото и вие бяхте чужденци в Египетската земя.

22 Y e shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.

Да не тормозите вдовица или сираче.

23 I f thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry;

Защото, ако ги тормозите по някакъв начин и те извикат към Мене, ще послушам вика им

24 A nd my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

и гневът Ми ще пламне, и ще ви избия с меч; и вашите жени ще останат вдовици, а вашите деца - сирачета.

25 I f thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.

Ако дадеш в заем пари на някой свой беден съсед сред Моя народ, да не постъпваш с него като заемодател, нито да му налагаш лихва.

26 I f thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down:

Ако вземеш в залог връхната дреха на ближния си, до залязване на слънцето да му я върнеш,

27 F or that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.

защото това е едничката му завивка, това е покривалото за тялото му; с какво ще спи? И като викне към Мен, Аз ще чуя, защото съм милостив.

28 T hou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.

Да не хулиш съдиите, нито да кълнеш началник на народа си.

29 T hou shalt not delay to offer the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.

Да не се забавиш да принесеш първото зърно от почистеното на хармана си и на лина си. Първородния между синовете си да посветиш на Мене.

30 L ikewise shalt thou do with thine oxen, and with thy sheep: seven days it shall be with his dam; on the eighth day thou shalt give it me.

Така ще постъпиш с говедото и с овцата си; седем дни ще остане малкото с майка си, а на седмия ден ще го посветиш на Мене.

31 A nd ye shall be holy men unto me: neither shall ye eat any flesh that is torn of beasts in the field; ye shall cast it to the dogs.

Бъдете за Мене святи хора; затова не яжте месо, разкъсано от зверове на полето; хвърлете го на кучетата.
