1 T hen came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

В първия месец израелтяните, цялото общество, дойдоха в Цинската пустиня; и народът остана в Кадис. Там умря Мариам и там беше погребана.

2 A nd there was no water for the congregation: and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron.

А вода нямаше за обществото, така че те се събраха против Моисей и Аарон.

3 A nd the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the Lord!

Народът се скара с Моисей, като говореше: О, да бяхме измрели и ние, когато братята ни измряха пред Господа!

4 A nd why have ye brought up the congregation of the Lord into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there?

Защо изведохте Господнето общество в тази пустиня да измрем в нея, ние и добитъкът ни?

5 A nd wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.

И защо ни изведохте от Египет, за да ни доведете на това лошо място, което не е място за сеене, нито за смокини, нито за лозя, нито за нарове, нито има вода за пиене?

6 A nd Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the Lord appeared unto them.

Тогава Моисей и Аарон се отдалечиха от присъствието на обществото към входа на шатъра за срещане, където и паднаха на лицата си; и Господнята слава им се яви.

7 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

И Господ говорѝ на Моисей:

8 T ake the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

Вземи жезъла и свикай обществото, ти и брат ти Аарон, и пред очите им говорете на канарата, и тя ще даде водата си; така ще им извадиш вода от канарата и ще напоиш обществото и добитъка им.

9 A nd Moses took the rod from before the Lord, as he commanded him.

И така, Моисей взе жезъла, който беше пред Господа, както Той му заповяда;

10 A nd Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

и като свикаха Моисей и Аарон обществото пред канарата, той им каза: Чуйте сега, вие, бунтовници! Да ви извадим ли вода от тази канара?

11 A nd Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

Тогава Моисей вдигна ръката си и с жезъла си удари канарата два пъти; и потече много вода и обществото и добитъкът им пиха.

12 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

Но Господ каза на Моисей и Аарон: Понеже не Ми вярвахте, за да Ме осветите пред израелтяните, затова вие няма да въведете това общество в земята, която им давам.

13 T his is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the Lord, and he was sanctified in them.

Това е водата на Мерива, защото израелтяните се препираха с Господа и Той се освети сред тях.

14 A nd Moses sent messengers from Kadesh unto the king of Edom, Thus saith thy brother Israel, Thou knowest all the travail that hath befallen us:

След това Моисей изпрати посланици от Кадис до едомския цар да му кажат: Така говори брат ти Израел: Ти знаеш всички трудности, които ни сполетяха,

15 H ow our fathers went down into Egypt, and we have dwelt in Egypt a long time; and the Egyptians vexed us, and our fathers:

как бащите ни слязоха в Египет и живяхме дълго време в Египет, и как египтяните се отнасяха зле към нас и бащите ни,

16 A nd when we cried unto the Lord, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:

и как, когато ние извикахме към Господа, Той чу гласа ни, изпрати един ангел и ни изведе от Египет; и ето ни в Кадис, град в края на твоите предели.

17 L et us pass, I pray thee, through thy country: we will not pass through the fields, or through the vineyards, neither will we drink of the water of the wells: we will go by the king's high way, we will not turn to the right hand nor to the left, until we have passed thy borders.

Нека минем, моля, през земята ти. Няма да минем през нивите или през лозята, нито ще пием вода от кладенците; а ще вървим през царския път; няма да се отбием нито надясно, нито наляво, докато не преминем твоите предели.

18 A nd Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass by me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.

Но Едом му отговори: Няма да минеш през земята ми, да не би да изляза с меч против теб.

19 A nd the children of Israel said unto him, We will go by the high way: and if I and my cattle drink of thy water, then I will pay for it: I will only, without doing anything else, go through on my feet.

А израелтяните пак му казаха: Ние ще минем през пътя; и ако аз и добитъкът ми пием от водата ти, ще я платим; остави ме само с краката си да премина и нищо друго.

20 A nd he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.

А той пак отговори: Няма да преминеш. И Едом излезе против него с много народ и със силна ръка.

21 T hus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his border: wherefore Israel turned away from him.

Така Едом отказа да пусне Израел да мине през пределите му; затова Израел се отвърна от него. Смъртта на Аарон

22 A nd the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor.

И така, израелтяните, цялото общество, отпътуваха от Кадис и дойдоха при планината Ор.

23 A nd the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron in mount Hor, by the coast of the land of Edom, saying,

Тогава Господ говорѝ на Моисей и Аарон на планината Ор, до границите на Едомската земя:

24 A aron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah.

Аарон ще се прибере при народа си, защото няма да влезе в земята, която съм дал на израелтяните, понеже не се покорихте на думата Ми при водата на Мерива.

25 T ake Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor:

Вземи Аарон и сина му Елеазар и ги изведи на планината Ор;

26 A nd strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there.

съблечи от Аарон одеждите му и облечи с тях сина му Елеазар; и Аарон ще се прибере при народа си и ще умре там.

27 A nd Moses did as the Lord commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation.

И Моисей направи, както Господ заповяда; те се качиха на планината Ор пред очите на цялото общество.

28 A nd Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount.

Моисей съблече от Аарон одеждите му и облече с тях сина му Елеазар; и Аарон умря там, на връх планината; а Моисей и Елеазар слязоха от планината.

29 A nd when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel.

След като цялото общество видя, че Аарон умря, то целият Израелев дом оплакваха Аарон тридесет дни.
