1 G od, the nations have come into your inheritance. They have defiled your holy temple. They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.

(78-1) ^^Псалом Асафа.^^ Боже! язычники пришли в наследие Твое, осквернили святый храм Твой, Иерусалим превратили в развалины;

2 T hey have given the dead bodies of your servants to be food for the birds of the sky, the flesh of your saints to the animals of the earth.

(78-2) трупы рабов Твоих отдали на съедение птицам небесным, тела святых Твоих--зверям земным;

3 T heir blood they have shed like water around Jerusalem. There was no one to bury them.

(78-3) пролили кровь их, как воду, вокруг Иерусалима, и некому было похоронить их.

4 W e have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.

(78-4) Мы сделались посмешищем у соседей наших, поруганием и посрамлением у окружающих нас.

5 H ow long, Yahweh? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealousy burn like fire?

(78-5) Доколе, Господи, будешь гневаться непрестанно, будет пылать ревность Твоя, как огонь?

6 P our out your wrath on the nations that don’t know you; on the kingdoms that don’t call on your name;

(78-6) Пролей гнев Твой на народы, которые не знают Тебя, и на царства, которые имени Твоего не призывают,

7 F or they have devoured Jacob, and destroyed his homeland.

(78-7) ибо они пожрали Иакова и жилище его опустошили.

8 D on’t hold the iniquities of our forefathers against us. Let your tender mercies speedily meet us, for we are in desperate need.

(78-8) Не помяни нам грехов предков; скоро да предварят нас щедроты Твои, ибо мы весьма истощены.

9 H elp us, God of our salvation, for the glory of your name. Deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your name’s sake.

(78-9) Помоги нам, Боже, Спаситель наш, ради славы имени Твоего; избавь нас и прости нам грехи наши ради имени Твоего.

10 W hy should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let it be known among the nations, before our eyes, that vengeance for your servants’ blood is being poured out.

(78-10) Для чего язычникам говорить: 'где Бог их?' Да сделается известным между язычниками пред глазами нашими отмщение за пролитую кровь рабов Твоих.

11 L et the sighing of the prisoner come before you. According to the greatness of your power, preserve those who are sentenced to death.

(78-11) Да придет пред лице Твое стенание узника; могуществом мышцы Твоей сохрани обреченных на смерть.

12 P ay back to our neighbors seven times into their bosom their reproach with which they have reproached you, Lord.

(78-12) Семикратно возврати соседям нашим в недро их поношение, которым они Тебя, Господи, поносили.

13 S o we, your people and sheep of your pasture, will give you thanks forever. We will praise you forever, to all generations.

(78-13) А мы, народ Твой и Твоей пажити овцы, вечно будем славить Тебя и в род и род возвещать хвалу Тебе.
