¶ These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun,

2 D an, Iosif şi Beniamin, Neftali, Gad şi Aşer. Urmaşii lui Iuda

Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

3 F iii lui Iuda au fost: Er, Onan şi Şela; aceştia i s-au născut din fiica canaanitului Şua. Er, întâiul născut al lui Iuda, era rău înaintea Domnului, astfel că El l-a omorât.

The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah. These three were born unto him of the daughter of Shua, the Canaanitess. And Er, the firstborn of Judah, was evil in the sight of the LORD, and he slew him.

4 T amara, nora lui Iuda, i-a născut pe Pereţ şi pe Zerah. Toţi fiii lui Iuda au fost în număr de cinci.

And Tamar, his daughter-in-law, gave birth unto him Pharez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.

5 F iii lui Pereţ au fost Heţron şi Hamul.

The sons of Pharez: Hezron and Hamul.

6 F iii lui Zerah au fost: Zimri, Etan, Heman, Calcol şi Dara – în total cinci.

And the sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara, five of them in all.

7 A car, cel care l-a tulburat pe Israel şi a păcătuit cu privire la lucrurile dedicate Domnului, a fost unul dintre fiii lui Carmi.

And the sons of Carmi: Achar, the troubler of Israel, who transgressed in the anathema.

8 A zaria a fost unul dintre fiii lui Etan.

Azariah was the son of Ethan.

9 F iii care i s-au născut lui Heţron au fost: Ierahmeel, Ram şi Caleb.

The sons that were born unto Hezron: Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai.

10 L ui Ram i s-a născut Aminadab, lui Aminadab i s-a născut Nahşon, căpetenia fiilor lui Iuda,

And Ram begat Amminadab, and Amminadab begat Nahshon, prince of the sons of Judah;

11 l ui Nahşon i s-a născut Salmon, lui Salmon i s-a născut Boaz,

And Nahshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Boaz,

12 l ui Boaz i s-a născut Obed, lui Obed i s-a născut Işai,

And Boaz begat Obed, and Obed begat Jesse,

13 i ar lui Işai i s-au născut Eliab, întâiul lui născut, Abinadab, al doilea, Şimea, al treilea,

And Jesse begat his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second and Shimma the third,

14 N etanel, al patrulea, Radai, al cincilea,

Nethaneel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,

15 O ţem, al şaselea şi David, al şaptelea.

Ozem the sixth, David the seventh,

16 S urorile lor erau: Ţeruia şi Abigail. Ţeruia i-a născut pe Abişai, pe Ioab şi pe Asael – în total trei.

whose sisters were Zeruiah, and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah were three: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel.

17 A bigail l-a născut pe Amasa, ismaelitul Ieter fiind tatăl lui Amasa.

And Abigail gave birth to Amasa, whose father was Jether the Ishmeelite.

18 C aleb, fiul lui Heţron, a avut copiii de la Azuba, soţia lui, şi de la Ieriot. Fiii lui Azuba au fost: Ieşer, Şobab şi Ardon.

¶ And Caleb, the son of Hezron, begat Jerioth of Azubah, his wife. And her sons were Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon.

19 D upă ce Azuba a murit, Caleb s-a căsătorit cu Efrata, şi ea i l-a născut pe Hur.

And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took Ephrath as wife, who gave birth to Hur unto him.

20 L ui Hur i s-a născut Uri, iar lui Uri – Beţalel.

And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.

21 A poi Heţron a intrat la fiica lui Machir, tatăl lui Ghilad. El avea şaizeci de ani când a luat-o de soţie. Ea i l-a născut pe Segub.

And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir, the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was sixty years old, and she gave birth to Segub unto him.

22 L ui Segub i s-a născut Iair. Acesta a avut douăzeci şi trei de cetăţi în ţara Ghilad.

And Segub begat Jair, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.

23 G heşuriţii şi arameii i-au luat Havot-Iair împreună cu cetatea Chenat şi satele dimprejurul ei – în total şaizeci. Toţi aceştia sunt urmaşii lui Machir, tatăl lui Ghilad.

And Geshur and Aram took the cities of Jair from them, with Kenath and its towns, even sixty cities. All these were of the sons of Machir, the father of Gilead.

24 D upă moartea lui Heţron în Caleb-Efrata, Abia, soţia lui Heţron, i l-a născut pe Aşhur, tatăl lui Tekoa.

And after Hezron was dead in Calebephratah, then Abiah, Hezron’s wife, gave birth to Ashur unto him, the father of Tekoa.

25 F iii lui Ierahmeel, întâiul născut al lui Heţron, au fost: Ram, întâiul lui născut, apoi Buna, Oren, Oţem şi Ahia.

And the sons of Jerahmeel, the firstborn of Hezron, were Ram, the firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah.

26 I erahmeel a mai avut o soţie care se numea Atara. Ea este mama lui Onam.

Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.

27 F iii lui Ram, întâiul născut al lui Ierahmeel, au fost: Maaţ, Iamin şi Echer.

And the sons of Ram, the firstborn of Jerahmeel, were Maaz, Jamin, and Eker.

28 F iii lui Onam au fost Şamai şi Iada. Fiii lui Şamai au fost Nadab şi Abişur.

And the sons of Onam were Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai, Nadab, and Abishur.

29 N umele soţiei lui Abişur era Abihail. Ea i-a născut pe Ahban şi pe Molid.

And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she gave birth to Ahban and Molid unto him.

30 F iii lui Nadab au fost Seled şi Apayim. Seled a murit fără să lase în urmă fii.

And the sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim. But Seled died without children.

31 F iul lui Apayim a fost Işi, fiul lui Işi a fost Şeşan, iar fiul lui Şeşan a fost Ahlai.

And Ishi was the son of Appaim. And Sheshan, the son of Ishi; and the son of Sheshan, Ahlai.

32 F iii lui Iada, fratele lui Şamai, au fost Ieter şi Ionatan. Ieter a murit fără să lase în urmă fii.

And the sons of Jada, the brother of Shammai: Jether and Jonathan; and Jether died without children.

33 F iii lui Ionatan au fost: Pelet şi Zaza. Aceştia au fost urmaşii lui Ierahmeel.

And the sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.

34 Ş eşan nu a avut fii, ci a avut numai fiice. Şeşan a mai avut un sclav egiptean, care se numea Iarha.

Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a slave, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.

35 Ş eşan i-a dat-o de soţie lui Iarha, slujitorul său, pe una dintre fiicele sale. Aceasta i l-a născut pe Atai.

And Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha, his slave, to wife; and she bore him Attai.

36 L ui Atai i s-a născut Natan, iar lui Natan – Zabad.

And Attai begat Nathan, and Nathan begat Zabad,

37 L ui Zabad i s-a născut Eflal, iar lui Eflal – Obed.

and Zabad begat Ephlal, and Ephlal begat Obed,

38 L ui Obed i s-a născut Iehu, iar lui Iehu – Azaria.

and Obed begat Jehu, and Jehu begat Azariah,

39 L ui Azaria i s-a născut Heleţ, iar lui Heleţ – Elasa.

and Azariah begat Helez, and Helez begat Eleasah,

40 L ui Elasa i s-a născut Sismai, iar lui Sismai – Şalum.

and Eleasah begat Sisamai, and Sisamai begat Shallum,

41 L ui Şalum i s-a născut Iekamia, iar lui Iekamia – Elişama.

and Shallum begat Jekamiah, and Jekamiah begat Elishama.

42 F iii lui Caleb, fratele lui Ierahmeel, au fost: Meşa, întâiul lui născut, tatăl lui Zif, şi Mareşa, celălalt fiu, tatăl lui Hebron.

Now the sons of Caleb, the brother of Jerahmeel, were Mesha, his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph, and of his other sons, Mareshah, the father of Hebron.

43 F iii lui Hebron au fost: Korah, Tapuah, Rechem şi Şema.

And the sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema.

44 L ui Şema i s-a născut Raham, tatăl lui Iorkoam, iar lui Rechem i s-a născut Şamai.

And Shema begat Raham, the father of Jorkoam; and Rekem begat Shammai.

45 F iul lui Şamai a fost Maon, tatăl lui Bet-Ţur.

And the son of Shammai was Maon, and Maon was the father of Bethzur.

46 E fa, ţiitoarea lui Caleb, i-a născut pe Haran, pe Moţa şi pe Gazez. Lui Haran i s-a născut Gazez.

And Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, gave birth to Haran, Moza, and Gazez unto him, and Haran begat Gazez.

47 F iii lui Iodai au fost: Reghem, Iotam, Gheşan, Pelet, Efa şi Şaaf.

And the sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph.

48 M aaca, ţiitoarea lui Caleb, i-a născut pe Şever şi pe Tirhana.

Maachah, Caleb’s concubine, gave birth to Sheber and Tirhanah unto him.

49 A poi i-a mai născut pe Şaaf, tatăl lui Madmana, şi pe Şeva, tatăl lui Mahbena şi tatăl lui Ghiva. Fiica lui Caleb a fost Acsa.

She also gave birth to Shaaph, the father of Madmannah, Sheva, the father of Machbenah and father of Gibea. And Achsah was the daughter of Caleb.

50 A ceştia au fost urmaşii lui Caleb. Fiii lui Hur, întâiul născut al Efratei, au fost: Şobal, tatăl lui Chiriat-Iearim,

These were the sons of Caleb, the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah: Shobal, the father of Kirjathjearim,

51 S alma, tatăl lui Betleem, şi Haref, tatăl lui Bet-Gader.

Salma, the father of Bethlehem, Hareph, the father of Bethgader.

52 T ot dintre urmaşii lui Şobal, tatăl lui Chiriat-Iearim, fac parte Haroe, jumătate din clanul lui Menuha

And the sons of Shobal, the father of Kirjathjearim, who was lord of half of Manaheth.

53 ş i clanurile lui Chiriat-Iearim: itriţii, putiţii, şumatiţii şi mişraiţii. Din aceste clanuri provin ţoratiţii şi eştaoliţii.

And the families of Kirjathjearim: the Ithrites and the Puhites and the Shumathites and the Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites and the Eshtaulites.

54 U rmaşi ai lui Salma au mai fost: Betleem, netofatiţii, Atrot din Bet-Ioab, jumătate din clanul lui Manaha, ţoriţii,

The sons of Salma: Bethlehem and the Netophathites, the crowns of the house of Joab, and half of the Manahethites, the Zorites.

55 c lanurile scribilor care locuiau la Iabeţ, tiratiţii, şimatiţii şi sucatiţii. Aceştia sunt cheniţii care provin din Hamat, tatăl lui Bet-Recab.

And the families of the scribes who dwelt at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.
