1 M i-am ridicat din nou ochii, m-am uitat şi am văzut patru care ieşind dintre doi munţi; erau nişte munţi de bronz.

¶ And I turned and lifted up my eyes and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains, and those mountains were of brass.

2 L a primul car erau nişte cai roşii, la al doilea car erau cai negri,

In the first chariot were red horses and in the second chariot black horses;

3 l a al treilea car erau cai albi, iar la al patrulea car erau nişte cai tărcaţi, toţi cai puternici.

in the third chariot white horses and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.

4 L -am întrebat atunci pe îngerul care vorbea cu mine: – Ce înseamnă acestea, stăpânul meu?

Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What is this, my lord?

5 Î ngerul mi-a răspuns: – Acestea sunt cele patru vânturi ale cerurilor, care ies de unde le era locul, de lângă Stăpânul întregului pământ.

And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

6 C aii cei negri au pornit înspre ţinutul din nord, cei albi au pornit după ei, iar cei tărcaţi au pornit înspre ţinutul din sud.

The one with the black horses went forth towards the north country, and the white went forth after them, and the grisled went forth toward the south country.

7 C ând caii cei puternici au ieşit, erau dornici să meargă să străbată pământul. Îngerul le-a zis: «Duceţi-vă şi străbateţi pământul!» Şi ei l-au străbătut.

And the bay went forth and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth, and he said, Go from here; walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.

8 A poi el m-a strigat şi mi-a vorbit astfel: – Priveşte, cei care se îndreaptă spre ţinutul din nord vor face ca Duhul Meu să se odihnească în acel ţinut!“ Promisiunea regelui-preot care va reconstrui Templul

Then he called me and spoke unto me, saying, Behold, those that went toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

9 D upă aceea, Cuvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

10 „ Să iei argint şi aur de la exilaţii Heldai, Tobia şi Iedaia. Să te duci tu însuţi în ziua aceea şi să intri în casa lui Iosia, fiul lui Ţefania. Toţi aceştia au venit din Babilon.

Take of those of that returned from the captivity, of the lineage of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, and come thou the same day and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah, whom are come from Babylon.

11 S ă iei argint şi aur, să faci cu ele o coroană şi s-o pui pe capul marelui preot Iosua, fiul lui Iehoţadak.

Thou shalt take silver and gold and make crowns and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest,

12 A poi să-i spui următoarele: «Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: ‘Iată-l pe omul, al cărui nume este Vlăstarul; el va da mlădiţe din el şi va zidi Templul Domnului!

and speak unto him, saying, Thus spoke the LORD of the hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD.

13 D a, el va zidi Templul Domnului şi va avea parte de măreţie! El se va aşeza pe tronul lui şi va împărăţi! Totodată va fi şi preot pe tronul lui, existând armonie deplină între cele două îndatoriri!’»

He shall build the temple of the LORD, and he shall bear the glory and shall sit and rule upon his throne, and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

14 C oroana va fi pentru Heldai, pentru Tobia, pentru Iedaia şi pentru Iosia, fiul lui Ţefania, ca o aducere aminte în Templul Domnului.

And Helem and Tobijah and Jedaiah and Hen the son of Zephaniah shall have crowns for a memorial in the temple of the LORD.

15 C hiar şi cei de departe vor veni şi vor zidi Templul Domnului! Şi veţi şti astfel că Domnul Oştirilor M-a trimis la voi. Aceasta însă se va întâmpla dacă veţi asculta cu atenţie de glasul Domnului, Dumnezeul vostru.“

And those that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of the hosts has sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass if ye will obediently hear the voice of the LORD our God.
