1 S uflete al meu, binecuvântează-L pe Domnul! Doamne, Dumnezeul meu, Tu eşti nemărginit de mare! Tu eşti îmbrăcat cu splendoare şi măreţie!

¶ Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty,

2 T u Te înveleşti cu lumina ca şi cu o manta; Tu întinzi cerurile ca pe un cort,

who dost cover thyself with light as with a garment, who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain,

3 ş i pui grinzile odăilor lui de sus pe ape; din nori Îţi faci car, şi umbli pe aripile vântului.

who dost establish his chambers between the waters, who makes the clouds his chariot, who walks upon the wings of the wind,

4 D in vânturi Tu Îţi faci îngeri şi din flăcări de foc – slujitori.

who makes his angels spirits, his ministers a flaming fire,

5 T u ai statornicit pământul pe temeliile lui, ca să nu se clatine niciodată.

who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be moved by any age.

6 Î l acoperiseşi cu adâncul ca şi cu o haină. Apele stăteau pe munţi,

Thou didst cover it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.

7 d ar la mustrarea Ta au fugit, la bubuitul tunetului Tău au luat-o la fugă.

At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.

8 S -au scurs de pe munţi, au coborât în văi, în locul pe care îl hotărâseşi pentru ele.

The mountains were exposed; they descended through the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.

9 L e-ai pus un hotar peste care nu au voie să treacă, ca să nu se întoarcă şi să acopere pământul.

Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over, that they not turn again to cover the earth.

10 E l face să ţâşnească izvoarele în văi şi ele curg printre munţi.

¶ Thou art he who sends the springs into the valleys, which run among the mountains.

11 T oate fiarele câmpului se adapă din ele şi măgarii sălbatici îşi potolesc setea acolo.

They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst.

12 P e malul lor îşi fac cuibul păsările cerului care-şi fac auzit glasul din frunziş.

Next to them the fowls of the heavens have their habitation; they sing among the leaves.

13 D in odăile de sus, El udă munţii; pământul se satură de rodul lucrărilor Tale.

He waters the mountains from his chambers; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

14 E l face să crească iarbă pentru vite şi verdeţuri pe care omul să le cultive. El face astfel să răsară hrană din pământ:

He causes the hay to grow for the cattle and grass for the service of man, that he may bring forth bread out of the earth

15 v inul care înveseleşte inima omului, uleiul care dă strălucire feţei şi hrana care întăreşte inima omului.

and wine that makes glad the heart of man, making his face to shine with oil and bread which sustains man’s heart.

16 C opacii Domnului sunt bine udaţi, cedrii Libanului pe care El i-a sădit.

The trees of the LORD are satisfied; the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted,

17 Î n ei îşi fac cuibul păsările; barza îşi are casa în pini.

that the birds may make their nests there: the stork makes her house among the fir trees.

18 M unţii cei înalţi sunt ai caprelor sălbatice, iar stâncile sunt un adăpost pentru viezurii de stâncă.

The high mountains are a refuge for the wild goats, and the rocks for the conies.

19 E l a făcut luna să arate vremurile, iar soarele ştie când să apună.

¶ He appointed the moon for times and seasons; the sun knows his going down.

20 T u aduci întunericul şi se face noapte; atunci toate fiarele pădurii încep să mişune.

Thou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest move.

21 P uii de leu rag de foame, cerându-şi hrana de la Dumnezeu.

The young lions roar after their prey and seek their food from God.

22 C ând răsare soarele, se adună şi se culcă în cotloanele lor.

The sun arises, they withdraw and lay themselves down in their dens.

23 A tunci iese omul la lucrul lui, la munca lui, până seara.

Man goes forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.

24 C e măreţe sunt lucrările Tale, Doamne! Toate le-ai făcut cu înţelepciune; pământul este plin de creaturile Tale.

O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom thou hast made them all; the earth is full of thy riches.

25 I ată marea cât de încăpătoare şi de întinsă este! În ea mişună vieţuitoare fără număr, vieţuitoare mici şi mari.

So is this great and wide sea, wherein are innumerable creeping things, both small and great beasts.

26 C orăbiile o străbat, în ea se joacă leviatanul, pe care l-ai făcut Tu.

There go the ships; there is that leviathan, whom thou didst make to play therein.

27 T oate nădăjduiesc în Tine ca să le dai hrana la vreme.

These wait all upon thee, that thou may give them their food in due season.

28 T u le-o dai, ele o primesc; Îţi deschizi mâna, ele se satură de bunătăţi;

Thou givest unto them, they gather; thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.

29 Î ţi ascunzi faţa, ele se îngrozesc; le iei suflarea, ele mor şi se întorc în ţărână;

Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled; thou takest away their spirit, they cease to exist and return to their dust.

30 Î ţi trimiţi Duhul, ele sunt plăsmuite, înnoind astfel faţa pământului.

Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created; and thou renewest the face of the earth.

31 F ie ca slava Domnului să dăinuiască veşnic! Domnul să se bucure de lucrările Sale,

¶ Let the glory of the LORD endure for ever; let the LORD rejoice in his works.

32 E l, Care atunci când priveşte pământul, acesta tremură, iar când atinge munţii, aceştia fumegă.

He looks on the earth, and it trembles: he touches the mountains, and they smoke.

33 V oi cânta Domnului toată viaţa mea, voi cânta Dumnezeului meu cât voi fi!

I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

34 F ie plăcută Domnului cugetarea mea! Eu mă voi bucura în Domnul.

My meditation of him shall be sweet; I will be glad in the LORD.

35 S ă piară păcătoşii de pe pământ şi cei răi să nu mai fie! Suflete al meu, binecuvântează-L pe Domnul! Lăudaţi-L pe Domnul!

Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Halelu- JAH (Praise ye the LORD).
