1 A şadar, regele Solomon domnea peste tot Israelul.

¶ So king Solomon was king over all Israel.

2 A ceştia erau dregătorii pe care-i avea în slujba lui: Azaria, fiul preotului Ţadok;

And these were the princes which he had: Azariah, the son of Zadok, the priest,

3 E lihoref şi Ahia, fiii lui Şişa, erau scribi; Iehoşafat, fiul lui Ahilud, era cronicar;

Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes, Jehoshaphat, the son of Ahilud, writer of the chronicles;

4 B enaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, era conducătorul oştirii; Ţadok şi Abiatar erau preoţi;

Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, was over the host; and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests;

5 A zaria, fiul lui Natan, răspundea de administratorii ţinuturilor; Zabud, fiul lui Natan, era preot şi prieten al regelui;

Azariah, the son of Nathan, was over the officers; and Zabud, the son of Nathan, was the priest and special companion of the king;

6 A hişar răspundea de palat, iar Adoniram, fiul lui Abda, era mai mare peste oamenii de corvoadă.

and Ahishar was over the household; and Adoniram, the son of Abda, was over the tribute.

7 S olomon avea în tot Israelul doisprezece administratori de ţinuturi, care se îngrijeau de hrana regelui şi a familiei sale, fiecare timp de o lună pe an.

And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who maintained the king and his household. Each one of them made provision for one month in the year.

8 A cestea sunt numele lor: Ben-Hur – în regiunea muntoasă a lui Efraim;

And these are their names: The son of Hur, in Mount Ephraim;

9 B en-Deker – în Makaţ, în Şaalbim, în Bet-Şemeş şi în Elon Bet-Hanan;

the son of Dekar, in Makaz and in Shaalbim and in Bethshemesh and in Elon and in Bethhanan;

10 B en-Hesed – în Arubot; (Soco şi toată ţara Hefer erau ale lui);

the son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh and all the land of Hepher.

11 B en-Abinadab avea toate înălţimile Dorului; (Tafat, fiica lui Solomon, era soţia lui);

The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor, who had Taphath, the daughter of Solomon, to wife;

12 B aana, fiul lui Ahilud – în Taanah, în Meghido şi în tot Bet-Şanul care este lângă Ţortan, sub Izreel; apoi de la Bet-Şan până la Abel-Mehola, până dincolo de Iokmeam;

Baana, the son of Ahilud; to him pertained Taanach and Megiddo and all Bethshean, which is by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Bethshean to Abelmeholah, even unto the place that is beyond Jokneam;

13 B en-Gheber – în Ramot-Ghilad; el avea aşezările lui Iair, fiul lui Manase, care sunt în Ghilad, precum şi ţinutul Argob, care este în Başan – şaizeci de cetăţi mari cu ziduri şi zăvoare de bronz;

the son of Geber, in Ramothgilead; to him pertained the towns of Jair, the son of Manasseh, which were in Gilead; to him also pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and brasen bars;

14 A hinadab, fiul lui Ido – în Mahanayim;

Ahinadab, the son of Iddo, in Mahanaim;

15 A himaaţ – în Neftali; el o luase de soţie pe Bosmat, fiica lui Solomon;

Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath, the daughter of Solomon, to wife.

16 B aana, fiul lui Huşai – în Aşer şi în Bealot;

Baanah, the son of Hushai, was in Asher and in Aloth;

17 I ehoşafat, fiul lui Paruah – în Isahar;

Jehoshaphat, the son of Paruah, in Issachar;

18 Ş imei, fiul lui Ela – în Beniamin;

Shimei, the son of Elah, in Benjamin;

19 G heber, fiul lui Uri – în ţinutul Ghiladului, ţara lui Sihon, regele amoriţilor, şi a lui Og, regele Başanului; era singurul administrator în acest ţinut. Bogăţia şi înţelepciunea lui Solomon

Geber, the son of Uri, was in the land of Gilead, in the land of Sihon, king of the Amorites, and of Og, king of Bashan; and in addition to these there was an officer over all the land.

20 O amenii din Iuda şi din Israel erau foarte numeroşi, ca nisipul de pe ţărmul mării. Ei mâncau, beau şi se înveseleau.

¶ Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.

21 S olomon mai domnea şi peste toate regatele de la râu, până în ţara filistenilor şi până la hotarul Egiptului; acestea îi plăteau tribut şi i-au fost supuse lui Solomon toată viaţa lui.

And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines and unto the border of Egypt, and they brought presents and served Solomon all the days of his life.

22 H rana de fiecare zi a lui Solomon era următoarea: treizeci de cori de făină fină şi şaizeci de cori de făină integrală,

And Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour and sixty measures of meal,

23 z ece boi îngrăşaţi în grajd, douăzeci de boi îngrăşaţi la păşune şi o sută de oi, în afară de cerbi, gazele, căpriori şi păsări îngrăşate.

ten fat oxen and twenty oxen out of the pastures and one hundred sheep beside harts and roebucks and fallowdeer and fatted fowl.

24 E l stăpânea peste toată regiunea de dincoace de râu, de la Tifsah până la Gaza, peste toţi regii de dincoace de râu şi avea pace din toate părţile.

For he had dominion over all the region on the other side of the river and from Tiphsah even to Gaza, over all the kings on the other side of the river, and he had peace on all sides round about him.

25 I uda şi Israel, de la Dan până la Beer-Şeba, au locuit în siguranţă, fiecare sub via şi sub smochinul lui, în tot timpul domniei lui Solomon.

And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, each one under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

26 S olomon avea patru mii de iesle pentru caii de la carele sale şi douăsprezece mii de cai.

And Solomon had forty thousand horses in his stables for his chariots and twelve thousand horsemen.

27 A dministratorii ţinuturilor se îngrijeau, fiecare în luna lui, de hrana regelui şi a tuturor celor ce veneau la masa regelui Solomon, urmărind ca nimic să nu lipsească.

And these officers maintained King Solomon and all that came unto king Solomon’s table, each one in his month; they made sure nothing was lacking.

28 E i aduceau şi orz şi paie pentru cai şi pentru armăsari, fiecare potrivit sarcinii care i se ceruse.

They also brought barley and straw for the horses and beasts of burden unto the place where he was, each one according to his charge.

29 D umnezeu i-a dat lui Solomon înţelepciune, o foarte mare pricepere şi o înţelegere nemăsurată, ca nisipul de pe ţărmul mării.

¶ And God gave Solomon exceedingly great wisdom and intelligence and magnanimity of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

30 Î nţelepciunea lui Solomon era mai mare decât înţelepciunea tuturor fiilor Răsăritului şi decât toată înţelepciunea Egiptului.

And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of the Egyptians.

31 E l era mai înţelept decât oricare alt om, mai înţelept decât ezrahitul Etan, decât Heman, Calcol şi Darda, fiii lui Mahol. Faima lui s-a răspândit printre toate neamurile din jur.

For he was wiser than all men, than Ethan, the Ezrahite, and Heman and Chalcol and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and he was named in all nations round about.

32 E l a alcătuit trei mii de proverbe şi a compus o mie cinci cântări.

And he spoke three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.

33 A vorbit despre copaci, de la cedrul din Liban până la isopul care creşte pe ziduri, despre animale, despre păsări, despre reptile şi despre peşti.

And he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springs out of the wall. He also spoke of animals and of fowl and of serpents and of fishes.

34 O ameni din toate neamurile, trimişi de toţi regii pământului, care auziseră despre înţelepciunea lui Solomon, veneau ca să asculte înţelepciunea sa.

And they came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom.
