1 N u judecaţi, ca să nu fiţi judecaţi.

¶ Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 C ăci cu ce judecată judecaţi, veţi fi judecaţi, şi cu ce măsură măsuraţi, vi se va măsura.

For with the judgment with which ye judge, ye shall be judged, and with the measure with which ye measure, ye shall be measured again.

3 D e ce vezi tu paiul din ochiul fratelui tău şi nu observi bârna din ochiul tău?!

And why dost thou behold the mote that is in thy brother’s eye but dost not consider the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 S au cum poţi să-i spui fratelui tău: «Lasă-mă să-ţi scot paiul din ochi!», când iată că tu ai o bârnă în ochiul tău?!

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 I pocritule! Scoate mai întâi bârna din ochiul tău şi atunci vei vedea clar să scoţi paiul din ochiul fratelui tău!

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou be able to see to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

6 S ă nu le daţi câinilor lucrurile sfinte şi să nu vă aruncaţi mărgăritarele înaintea porcilor, ca nu cumva porcii să le calce în picioare, şi apoi câinii să se întoarcă să vă sfâşie. Cereţi, căutaţi, bateţi

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet and turn again and rend you.

7 C ereţi şi vi se va da; căutaţi şi veţi găsi; bateţi şi vi se va deschide!

¶ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you;

8 C ăci oricine cere primeşte; cel ce caută găseşte, iar celui ce bate i se va deschide.

for every one that asks receives, and he that seeks finds, and to him that knocks it shall be opened.

9 C ine este omul acela dintre voi, care, atunci când fiul său îi cere o pâine, să-i dea o piatră?

Or what man is there of you, whom, if his son asks for bread, will he give him a stone?

10 S au care, atunci când acesta îi cere un peşte, să-i dea un şarpe?

Or if he asks for fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 A şadar, dacă voi, care sunteţi răi, ştiţi să le daţi daruri bune copiilor voştri, cu cât mai mult Tatăl vostru, Care este în ceruri, le va da lucruri bune celor ce I le cer!

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those that ask him?

12 T ot ceea ce aţi dori deci să vă facă vouă oamenii, faceţi-le şi voi la fel! Căci în aceasta sunt cuprinseă Legea şi Profeţii. Poarta îngustă

¶ Therefore, all things whatsoever ye desire that men should do unto you, so also shall ye do unto them, for this is the law and the prophets.

13 I ntraţi pe poarta cea îngustă! Căci largă este poarta, lată este calea care duce la pieire şi mulţi sunt cei care intră pe ea!

Enter ye in at the narrow gate, for the way that leads to destruction is wide and spacious, and those who follow it are many;

14 D ar strâmtă este poarta, îngustă este calea care duce la viaţă şi puţini sunt cei care o găsesc. Să recunoşti „pomul“ după „roade“

because narrow is the gate, and confined is the way which leads unto life, and there are few that find it.

15 P ăziţi-vă de profeţii falşi! Ei vin la voi îmbrăcaţi în haine de oi, dar pe dinăuntru sunt nişte lupi feroce.

¶ Keep yourselves also from the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Î i veţi recunoaşte după roadele lor. Culeg oare oamenii struguri din mărăcini sau smochine din ciulini?

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 T ot aşa, orice pom bun face roade bune, dar orice pom stricat face roade stricate.

Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit.

18 U n pom bun nu poate face roade stricate şi un pom stricat nu poate face roade bune.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 O rice pom care nu face roade bune este tăiat şi aruncat în foc.

Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire.

20 A şadar, după roadele lor îi veţi recunoaşte.

So that by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 N u oricine-Mi zice: «Doamne, Doamne!» va intra în Împărăţia Cerurilor, ci doar acela care face voia Tatălui Meu, Care este în ceruri.

¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in the heavens.

22 M ulţi Îmi vor zice în ziua aceea: «Doamne, Doamne, n-am profeţit noi în Numele Tău? N-am scos noi demoni în Numele Tău? N-am făcut noi multe minuni în Numele Tău?»

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 A tunci le voi spune limpede: «Niciodată nu v-am cunoscut! Plecaţi de la Mine, voi, cei ce săvârşiţi fărădelegea!» Casa zidită pe stâncă

And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

24 D e aceea oricine aude aceste cuvinte ale Mele şi le împlineşte va fi asemănat cu un om înţelept, care şi-a construit casa pe stâncă.

Therefore, whosoever hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him unto a prudent man, who built his house upon the rock;

25 S -a revărsat ploaia, au venit şuvoaiele de apă, au suflat vânturile şi au izbit în casa aceea, dar ea nu s-a prăbuşit, pentru că avea temelia pusă pe stâncă.

and the rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it did not fall, for it was founded upon a rock.

26 Î nsă oricine aude aceste cuvinte ale Mele şi nu le pune în practică va fi asemănat cu un om nesăbuit, care şi-a construit casa pe nisip.

And every one that hears these words of mine and does not do them shall be likened unto a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand;

27 S -a revărsat ploaia, au venit şuvoaiele de apă, au suflat vânturile şi au izbit în casa aceea, şi ea s-a prăbuşit, iar prăbuşirea i-a fost mare.“

and the rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it.

28 D upă ce a terminat Isus de spus cuvintele acestea, mulţimile au rămas uimite de învăţătura Lui,

And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these words, the multitude marvelled at his doctrine;

29 c ăci El îi învăţa ca Unul Care avea autoritate, nu cum îi învăţau cărturarii lor.

for he taught them as one having authority and not as the scribes.
