1 O Mlădiţă va ieşi din tulpina lui Işai şi un Vlăstar din rădăcinile lui va aduce rod.

¶ And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

2 D uhul Domnului se va odihni peste El, Duh de înţelepciune şi de înţelegere, Duh de sfătuire şi de putere, Duh de cunoaştere şi de frică de Domnul.

And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD,

3 P lăcerea Sa va fi frica de Domnul. El nu va judeca după înfăţişare, nici nu va hotărî după cele auzite,

and shall make him of quick olfaction in the fear of the LORD; and he shall not judge according to the sight of his eyes, neither reprove according to the hearing of his ears:

4 c i cu dreptate îi va judeca pe cei nevoiaşi şi cu nepărtinire va hotărî pentru cei săraci de pe pământ. Cu nuiaua gurii Sale, El va lovi pământul, iar cu suflarea buzelor Sale, îl va ucide pe cel rău.

But with righteousness shall he judge the poor and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the spirit of his lips he shall slay the wicked.

5 D reptatea va fi brâul coapselor Sale şi credincioşia – cingătoarea cu care va fi încins.

And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faith the girdle of his kidneys.

6 L upul va locui la un loc cu mielul, leopardul se va culca lângă ied, viţelul, puiul de leu şi tăuraşul vor fi împreună, iar un copilaş îi va conduce.

The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a child shall shepherd them.

7 V aca şi ursoaica vor paşte împreună, puii lor vor sta culcaţi la un loc, iar leul va mânca paie ca boul.

The cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 S ugarul se va juca lângă vizuina aspidei, iar copilul înţărcat îşi va băga mâna în cuibul viperei.

And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.

9 E i nu vor face rău, nici nu vor distruge ceva pe întregul Meu munte sfânt, pentru că pământul va fi plin de cunoştinţa Domnului, aşa cum apele acoperă adâncul mării.

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

10 Î n ziua aceea, Rădăcina lui Işai va sta ca un steag pentru popoare; neamurile se vor aduna la El, iar locuinţa Sa va fi slăvită.

¶ And it shall be in that day that the Root of Jesse, who shall be lifted up as a banner, as an example to the Gentiles shall be sought by the Gentiles; and his Kingdom of peace shall be glorious.

11 Î n ziua aceea, Stăpânul Îşi va întinde mâna pentru a doua oară ca să răscumpere rămăşiţa poporului Său, pe cei rămaşi din Asiria, Egipt, Patros, Cuş, Elam, Şinar, Hamat şi din toate ţinuturile de lângă mare.

And it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall return to set his hand again to possess the remnant of his people which were left from Assyria and from Egypt and from Pathros and from Cush and from Elam and from Shinar and from Hamath and from the islands of the sea.

12 E l va ridica un steag pentru neamuri şi îi va aduna pe deportaţii lui Israel; îi va aduna pe cei împrăştiaţi ai lui Iuda din cele patru colţuri ale pământului.

And he shall raise up a banner, as an example for the Gentiles and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

13 G elozia lui Efraim va înceta, iar vrăjmaşii lui Iuda vor fi nimiciţi. Efraim nu va mai fi gelos pe Iuda, iar Iuda nu-i va mai fi ostil lui Efraim,

The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.

14 c i vor zbura pe umărul filistenilor spre apus şi vor jefui împreună pe fiii răsăritului. Vor ocupa Edomul şi Moabul, iar amoniţii le vor fi supuşi.

But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil those of the east together; they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the sons of Ammon shall obey them.

15 D omnul va seca golful mării Egiptului, Îşi va mişca mâna deasupra râului, trimiţând vântul Său arzător şi îl va împărţi în şapte pârâuri, oamenii putând să-l treacă încălţaţi.

And the LORD shall utterly dry up the tongue of the Egyptian sea and shall raise his hand in the strength of his spirit upon the river and shall smite it into seven streams and make men go over dryshod.

16 D in Asiria se va deschide un drum larg pentru rămăşiţa poporului Său lăsată acolo, aşa cum s-a deschis pentru Israel, când a ieşit din ţara Egiptului.

And there shall be a highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left from Assyria like as it was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
