1 P rimiţi-i bine între voi pe cei care sunt slabi în credinţă, fără a purta dispute!

¶ Bear with the one who is sick in the faith, but not unto doubtful discernment.

2 U nul crede că poate să mănânce orice, pe când cel slab mănâncă doar legume.

For one believes that he may eat all things; another, who is sick, eats vegetables.

3 C el ce mănâncă orice să nu-l dispreţuiască pe cel ce nu mănâncă orice, iar cel ce nu mănâncă orice să nu-l condamne pe cel ce mănâncă, pentru că Dumnezeu l-a primit.

Let not him that eats despise him that does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him that eats; for God has raised him up.

4 C ine eşti tu să-l condamni pe slujitorul altuia?! Dacă stă sau cade, îl priveşte pe stăpânul său! Însă el va sta, pentru că Domnul îl poate face să stea.

Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? By his own master he stands or falls; and if he falls, he shall be made to stand, for God is powerful to make him stand.

5 U nul crede că o zi este mai bună decât alta, iar altul le consideră pe toate la fel. Fiecare trebuie să fie pe deplin convins în gândirea sa.

Also, some make a difference between one day and another; others esteem every day alike. Let each one be fully persuaded in his own soul.

6 C el ce respectă o anumită zi, pentru Domnul o respectă. Cel ce mănâncă orice, pentru Domnul mănâncă, întrucât el Îi mulţumeşte lui Dumnezeu, iar cel ce nu mănâncă orice, pentru Domnul nu mănâncă şi Îi mulţumeşte şi el lui Dumnezeu.

He that observes the day, let him observe it unto the Lord; and he that does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He that eats, eats unto the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that does not eat, unto the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.

7 C ăci nimeni dintre noi nu trăieşte pentru el însuşi şi nimeni dintre noi nu moare pentru el însuşi:

For none of us live for ourselves, and no one dies for himself.

8 d acă trăim, pentru Domnul trăim, iar dacă murim, pentru Domnul murim. Astfel, fie că trăim, fie că murim, noi suntem ai Domnului.

For if we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord; whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

9 P entru acest scop a murit şi a înviat Cristos: ca să poată fi Domn şi al celor morţi, şi al celor vii.

For to this end Christ both died and rose and revived: to thus exercise lordship over the dead as well as over the living.

10 A şadar, de ce-l condamni pe fratele tău? Sau de ce-l dispreţuieşti pe fratele tău? Căci toţi vom sta înaintea tronului de judecată al lui Dumnezeu.

But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou belittle thy brother? for we shall all stand before the tribunal of the Christ.

11 P entru că este scris: „Viu sunt Eu, zice Domnul, că orice genunchi se va pleca înaintea Mea şi orice limbă Îl va mărturisi pe Dumnezeu!“

For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

12 D eci fiecare dintre noi va da socoteală despre sine însuşi înaintea lui Dumnezeu.

So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.

13 A şadar, să nu ne mai judecăm unii pe alţii, ci, mai degrabă, judecaţi ca nu cumva să puneţi fratelui vostru o piatră de poticnire sau o pricină de cădere.

Let us, therefore, not judge one another any more, but judge this rather: that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

14 Ş tiu şi sunt convins în Domnul Isus că nici un lucru nu este necurat în sine, însă dacă cineva consideră un lucru ca fiind necurat, atunci pentru el este necurat.

I know and trust in the Lord Jesus that for his sake there is nothing unclean, but to him that esteems any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

15 D acă fratele tău este întristat din cauza a ceea ce mănânci, atunci tu nu mai trăieşti în dragoste. Nu-l nimici, prin ceea ce mănânci, pe cel pentru care a murit Cristos!

But if thy brother is grieved because of thy food, now thou dost not walk in charity. Do not destroy him with thy food, for whom Christ died.

16 N u lăsaţi ca binele vostru să fie vorbit de rău!

Let not then your good be evil spoken of;

17 C ăci Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu nu este nici mâncare, nici băutură, ci dreptate, pace şi bucurie în Duhul Sfânt.

for the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

18 C el care-L slujeşte astfel pe Cristos Îi este plăcut lui Dumnezeu şi este respectat de oameni.

For he that in these things serves the Christ is well pleasing unto God and approved of men.

19 A şadar, să urmărim lucrurile care aduc pacea şi cele prin care ne zidim unii pe alţii!

Let us, therefore, follow after the things which make for peace and the edification of each one to the others.

20 N u distrugeţi lucrarea lui Dumnezeu de dragul unei mâncări! Într-adevăr, toate lucrurile sunt curate, însă este rău pentru un om să mănânce ceva care pe celălalt l-ar face să cadă.

Because of food, do not destroy the work of God. All things indeed are clean, but it is evil for that man who eats with offense.

21 E ste bine să nu mănânci carne sau să nu bei vin sau orice altceva care pe fratele tău l-ar face să cadă.

It is good neither to eat flesh nor to drink wine nor do any thing by which thy brother stumbles or is offended or is sick.

22 A şadar, încredinţarea pe care o ai, păstreaz-o pentru tine înaintea lui Dumnezeu. Ferice de omul care nu se condamnă din cauza a ceea ce el consideră ca fiind bun!

Thou hast faith; have it to thyself before God. Blessed is he that does not condemn himself with that thing which he allows.

23 Î nsă omul care are îndoieli este condamnat dacă mănâncă, pentru că n-o face din convingere. Orice lucru care nu vine din convingere este păcat.

And he that makes a difference is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat by faith; and whatsoever is not out of faith is sin.
