Romans 14 ~ Romans 14

1 N ow accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions.

¶ Bear with the one who is sick in the faith, but not unto doubtful discernment.

2 O ne person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only.

For one believes that he may eat all things; another, who is sick, eats vegetables.

3 T he one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him.

Let not him that eats despise him that does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him that eats; for God has raised him up.

4 W ho are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? By his own master he stands or falls; and if he falls, he shall be made to stand, for God is powerful to make him stand.

5 O ne person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.

Also, some make a difference between one day and another; others esteem every day alike. Let each one be fully persuaded in his own soul.

6 H e who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God.

He that observes the day, let him observe it unto the Lord; and he that does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He that eats, eats unto the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that does not eat, unto the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.

7 F or not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself;

For none of us live for ourselves, and no one dies for himself.

8 f or if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

For if we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord; whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

9 F or to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

For to this end Christ both died and rose and revived: to thus exercise lordship over the dead as well as over the living.

10 B ut you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.

But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou belittle thy brother? for we shall all stand before the tribunal of the Christ.

11 F or it is written, “ As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall give praise to God.”

For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

12 S o then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.

So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.

13 T herefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this— not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s way.

Let us, therefore, not judge one another any more, but judge this rather: that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

14 I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

I know and trust in the Lord Jesus that for his sake there is nothing unclean, but to him that esteems any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

15 F or if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.

But if thy brother is grieved because of thy food, now thou dost not walk in charity. Do not destroy him with thy food, for whom Christ died.

16 T herefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil;

Let not then your good be evil spoken of;

17 f or the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

for the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

18 F or he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.

For he that in these things serves the Christ is well pleasing unto God and approved of men.

19 S o then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.

Let us, therefore, follow after the things which make for peace and the edification of each one to the others.

20 D o not tear down the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are clean, but they are evil for the man who eats and gives offense.

Because of food, do not destroy the work of God. All things indeed are clean, but it is evil for that man who eats with offense.

21 I t is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles.

It is good neither to eat flesh nor to drink wine nor do any thing by which thy brother stumbles or is offended or is sick.

22 T he faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.

Thou hast faith; have it to thyself before God. Blessed is he that does not condemn himself with that thing which he allows.

23 B ut he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.

And he that makes a difference is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat by faith; and whatsoever is not out of faith is sin.
