1 A fter these things Jesus manifested Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and He manifested Himself in this way.

¶ After these things Jesus manifested himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias, and he manifested himself in this manner:

2 S imon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together.

Simon Peter and Thomas, called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee and the sons of Zebedee and two other of his disciples were together.

3 S imon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We will also come with you.” They went out and got into the boat; and that night they caught nothing.

Simon Peter said unto them, I am going fishing. They said unto him, Let us also go with thee. They went forth and entered into a ship immediately, and that night they caught nothing.

4 B ut when the day was now breaking, Jesus stood on the beach; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.

But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not understand that it was Jesus.

5 S o Jesus said to them, “Children, you do not have any fish, do you?” They answered Him, “No.”

Then Jesus said unto them, Children, have ye any food? They answered him, No.

6 A nd He said to them, “ Cast the net on the right-hand side of the boat and you will find a catch.” So they cast, and then they were not able to haul it in because of the great number of fish.

And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right hand side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

7 T herefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord.” So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put his outer garment on (for he was stripped for work ), and threw himself into the sea.

Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher’s coat unto him (for he was naked) and cast himself into the sea.

8 B ut the other disciples came in the little boat, for they were not far from the land, but about one hundred yards away, dragging the net full of fish.

And the other disciples came in the little ship (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits), dragging the net with the fishes.

9 S o when they got out on the land, they saw a charcoal fire already laid and fish placed on it, and bread.

As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and a fish laid thereon, and bread.

10 J esus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have now caught.”

Jesus said unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.

11 S imon Peter went up and drew the net to land, full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not torn. Jesus Provides

Simon Peter went up and drew the net to land full of great fishes, one hundred and fifty-three; and being so many, yet the net was not broken.

12 J esus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples ventured to question Him, “Who are You?” knowing that it was the Lord.

Jesus said unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples dared to ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

13 J esus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and the fish likewise.

Jesus then came and took the bread and gave them, and the fish likewise.

14 T his is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to the disciples, after He was raised from the dead. The Love Motivation

This was now the third time that Jesus manifested himself to his disciples, after he was risen from the dead.

15 S o when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My lambs.”

¶ So when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He said unto him, Yes, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He said unto him, Feed my lambs.

16 H e said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “ Shepherd My sheep.”

He said to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He said unto him, Yes, Lord thou knowest that I love thee. He said unto him, Feed my sheep.

17 H e said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “ Tend My sheep. Our Times Are in His Hand

He said unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus said unto him, Feed my sheep.

18 T ruly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to gird yourself and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands and someone else will gird you, and bring you where you do not wish to go.”

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou didst gird thyself and walk where thou wouldest, but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee and carry thee where thou wouldest not.

19 N ow this He said, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “ Follow Me!”

This he spoke, signifying by what death he should clarify God. And when he had spoken this, he said unto him, Follow me.

20 P eter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them; the one who also had leaned back on His bosom at the supper and said, “Lord, who is the one who betrays You?”

¶ Then Peter, turning about, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrays thee?

21 S o Peter seeing him said to Jesus, “Lord, and what about this man?”

Peter seeing him said to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do ?

22 J esus said to him, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!”

Jesus said unto him, If I will that he tarry until I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

23 T herefore this saying went out among the brethren that that disciple would not die; yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?”

Then this saying went abroad among the brethren that that disciple should not die; yet Jesus did not say unto him, He shall not die, but, If I will that he tarry until I come, what is that to thee?

24 T his is the disciple who is testifying to these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.

This is the disciple who testifies of these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.

25 A nd there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.

And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which, if they should be written every one, I think that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.
