1 T hen Eliashib the high priest arose with his brothers the priests and built the Sheep Gate; they consecrated it and hung its doors. They consecrated the wall to the Tower of the Hundred and the Tower of Hananel.

¶ Then Eliashib, the high priest, rose up with his brethren, the priests, and they built the sheep gate; they sanctified it and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.

2 N ext to him the men of Jericho built, and next to them Zaccur the son of Imri built.

And next unto him the men of Jericho built. And next to them built Zaccur, the son of Imri.

3 N ow the sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate; they laid its beams and hung its doors with its bolts and bars.

And the sons of Hassenaah built the fish gate; they laid its beams and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.

4 N ext to them Meremoth the son of Uriah the son of Hakkoz made repairs. And next to him Meshullam the son of Berechiah the son of Meshezabel made repairs. And next to him Zadok the son of Baana also made repairs.

And next to them Meremoth, the son of Urijah, the son of Koz restored. And next to them Meshullam, the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel restored. And next to them Zadok, the son of Baana, restored.

5 M oreover, next to him the Tekoites made repairs, but their nobles did not support the work of their masters.

And next to them the Tekoites restored; but their nobles did not put their necks to the work of their Lord.

6 J oiada the son of Paseah and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah repaired the Old Gate; they laid its beams and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars.

Moreover, the old gate was restored by Jehoiada, the son of Paseah, and Meshullam, the son of Besodeiah; they laid its beams and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.

7 N ext to them Melatiah the Gibeonite and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, also made repairs for the official seat of the governor of the province beyond the River.

And next to them restored Melatiah, the Gibeonite, and Jadon, the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, on behalf of the captain of the king over the land on this side the river.

8 N ext to him Uzziel the son of Harhaiah of the goldsmiths made repairs. And next to him Hananiah, one of the perfumers, made repairs, and they restored Jerusalem as far as the Broad Wall.

Next to them Uzziel, the son of Harhaiah, of the refiners restored. Next unto him Hananiah, the son of one of the apothecaries, also restored, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.

9 N ext to them Rephaiah the son of Hur, the official of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs.

And next unto them Rephaiah, the son of Hur, prince of the half part of Jerusalem, restored.

10 N ext to them Jedaiah the son of Harumaph made repairs opposite his house. And next to him Hattush the son of Hashabneiah made repairs.

And next unto them, Jedaiah, the son of Harumaph restored, and over against his house. And next unto him Hattush, the son of Hashabniah, restored.

11 M alchijah the son of Harim and Hasshub the son of Pahath-moab repaired another section and the Tower of Furnaces.

Malchijah, the son of Harim, and Hashub, the son of Pahathmoab, restored the other piece and the tower of the furnaces.

12 N ext to him Shallum the son of Hallohesh, the official of half the district of Jerusalem, made repairs, he and his daughters.

And next to them restored Shallum, the son of Halohesh, prince of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.

13 H anun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired the Valley Gate. They built it and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars, and a thousand cubits of the wall to the Refuse Gate.

The valley gate was restored by Hanun with the inhabitants of Zanoah; they rebuilt it and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and a thousand cubits in the wall unto the dung gate.

14 M alchijah the son of Rechab, the official of the district of Beth-haccherem repaired the Refuse Gate. He built it and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars.

And Malchiah, the son of Rechab, prince of the province of Bethhaccerem, restored the dung gate; he built it and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.

15 S hallum the son of Col-hozeh, the official of the district of Mizpah, repaired the Fountain Gate. He built it, covered it and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars, and the wall of the Pool of Shelah at the king’s garden as far as the steps that descend from the city of David.

Shallun, the son of Colhozeh, the prince of the region of Mizpah, restored the gate of the fountain; he built it, covered it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and the wall of the pool of Siloah of the king’s garden, unto the stairs that go down from the city of David.

16 A fter him Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, official of half the district of Beth-zur, made repairs as far as a point opposite the tombs of David, and as far as the artificial pool and the house of the mighty men.

After him restored Nehemiah, the son of Azbuk, the prince of half the region of Bethzur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David and to the pool that was made and unto the house of the mighty.

17 A fter him the Levites carried out repairs under Rehum the son of Bani. Next to him Hashabiah, the official of half the district of Keilah, carried out repairs for his district.

After him restored the Levites, Rehum, the son of Bani. Next unto him Hashabiah, prince of half the region of Keilah, restored in his part.

18 A fter him their brothers carried out repairs under Bavvai the son of Henadad, official of the other half of the district of Keilah.

After him their brethren, Bavai, the son of Henadad, prince of the half the region of Keilah restored.

19 N ext to him Ezer the son of Jeshua, the official of Mizpah, repaired another section in front of the ascent of the armory at the Angle.

And next to him Ezer, the son of Jeshua, prince of Mizpah, restored another piece over against the going up to the armoury at the turning of the wall.

20 A fter him Baruch the son of Zabbai zealously repaired another section, from the Angle to the doorway of the house of Eliashib the high priest.

After him Baruch, the son of Zabbai, earnestly restored the other piece, from the turning of the wall unto the door of the house of Eliashib, the high priest.

21 A fter him Meremoth the son of Uriah the son of Hakkoz repaired another section, from the doorway of Eliashib’s house even as far as the end of his house.

After him, Meremoth, the son of Urijah, the son of Koz, restored another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib.

22 A fter him the priests, the men of the valley, carried out repairs.

And after him the priests, the men of the plain, restored.

23 A fter them Benjamin and Hasshub carried out repairs in front of their house. After them Azariah the son of Maaseiah, son of Ananiah, carried out repairs beside his house.

After them Benjamin and Hashub restored over against their house. After them Azariah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ananiah, restored by his house.

24 A fter him Binnui the son of Henadad repaired another section, from the house of Azariah as far as the Angle and as far as the corner.

After him, Binnui, the son of Henadad, restored another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning of the wall, even unto the corner.

25 P alal the son of Uzai made repairs in front of the Angle and the tower projecting from the upper house of the king, which is by the court of the guard. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh made repairs.

Palal, the son of Uzai, over against the turning of the wall, and the tower which lies out from the king’s high house, that was by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah, the son of Parosh.

26 T he temple servants living in Ophel made repairs as far as the front of the Water Gate toward the east and the projecting tower.

And the Nethinims were in Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east and the tower that lies out.

27 A fter them the Tekoites repaired another section in front of the great projecting tower and as far as the wall of Ophel.

After them the Tekoites restored another piece, over against the great tower that lies out, unto the wall of Ophel.

28 A bove the Horse Gate the priests carried out repairs, each in front of his house.

From the horse gate the priests restored, each one over against his house.

29 A fter them Zadok the son of Immer carried out repairs in front of his house. And after him Shemaiah the son of Shecaniah, the keeper of the East Gate, carried out repairs.

After them Zadok, the son of Immer, restored over against his house. After him, Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate restored.

30 A fter him Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, repaired another section. After him Meshullam the son of Berechiah carried out repairs in front of his own quarters.

After him, Hananiah, the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun, the sixth son of Zalaph, restored another piece. After him Meshullam, the son of Berechiah restored over against his chamber.

31 A fter him Malchijah, one of the goldsmiths, carried out repairs as far as the house of the temple servants and of the merchants, in front of the Inspection Gate and as far as the upper room of the corner.

After him, Malchiah, the son of the refiner, restored unto the place of the Nethinims and of the merchants, over against the gate of judgment and to the going up of the corner.

32 B etween the upper room of the corner and the Sheep Gate the goldsmiths and the merchants carried out repairs.

And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate, the refiners and the merchants restored.
