1 A şadar, acum nu mai este nici o condamnare pentru cei ce sunt în Cristos Isus (care nu trăiesc potrivit cu firea, ci potrivit cu Duhul).

¶ So that now, there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ, Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

2 C ăci legea Duhului vieţii în Cristos Isus te-a eliberat de legea păcatului şi a morţii.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ, Jesus, has made me free from the law of sin and death.

3 F iindcă ceea ce era cu neputinţă pentru Lege, întrucât era făcută neputincioasă de fire, Dumnezeu a înfăptuit trimiţând, din pricina păcatului, pe propriul Său Fiu, în asemănarea firii păcătoase, şi condamnând astfel păcatul în fire,

For that which was impossible to the law, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh

4 p entru ca cerinţa dreaptă a Legii să fie împlinită în noi, care nu trăim potrivit cu firea, ci potrivit cu Duhul.

that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

5 Î ntr-adevăr, cei ce trăiesc potrivit cu firea se gândesc la lucrurile firii, însă cei ce trăiesc potrivit cu Duhul se gândesc la lucrurile Duhului.

For those that are according to the flesh know the things that are of the flesh; but those that are according to the Spirit, the things that are of the Spirit.

6 C ăci preocuparea pentru fire este moarte, însă preocuparea pentru lucrurile Duhului este viaţă şi pace.

For the prudence of the flesh is death, but the prudence of the Spirit, life and peace,

7 Ş i aceasta, deoarece preocuparea pentru fire este duşmănie faţă de Dumnezeu, căci ea nu se supune Legii lui Dumnezeu şi nici nu poate s-o facă.

because the prudence of the flesh is enmity against God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, neither indeed can it.

8 D eci cei ce sunt în fire nu-I pot fi plăcuţi lui Dumnezeu.

So then, those that are carnal cannot please God.

9 V oi însă nu mai sunteţi în fire, ci în Duhul, dacă într-adevăr Duhul lui Dumnezeu locuieşte în voi. Dar dacă cineva nu are Duhul lui Cristos, atunci nu este al Lui.

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, because the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, that person is not of him.

10 D acă însă Cristos este în voi, trupul vostru este mort, din cauza păcatului, dar Duhul este viaţa voastră, datorită dreptăţii.

¶ But if Christ is in you, the body is truly dead because of sin, but the Spirit is alive because of righteousness.

11 Ş i dacă Duhul Celui Ce L-a înviat pe Isus din morţi locuieşte în voi, atunci Cel Ce L-a înviat pe Cristos din morţi le va da viaţă şi trupurilor voastre muritoare, prin Duhul Lui Care locuieşte în voi.

And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up the Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.

12 D eci, fraţilor, noi nu suntem datori faţă de fire, ca să trăim potrivit ei!

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.

13 P entru că, dacă trăiţi potrivit firii, veţi muri, dar dacă, prin Duhul, daţi morţii faptele trupului, veţi trăi!

For if ye live according to the flesh, ye shall die; but if through the Spirit ye mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

14 C ăci toţi care sunt călăuziţi de Duhul lui Dumnezeu sunt fii ai lui Dumnezeu.

For all that are led by the Spirit of God, the same are sons of God.

15 F iindcă voi n-aţi primit un duh de sclavie, ca să vă fie din nou teamă, ci aţi primit Duhul înfierii prin care strigăm: „Abba!“, adică „Tată!“

For ye have not received the spirit of slavery to be in fear again, but ye have received the Spirit of adoption of sons, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 D uhul Însuşi depune mărturie, împreună cu duhul nostru, că suntem copii ai lui Dumnezeu.

For the same Spirit bears witness unto our spirit that we are sons of God,

17 I ar dacă suntem copii, suntem şi moştenitori – moştenitori ai lui Dumnezeu, moştenitori împreună cu Cristos, dacă suferim într-adevăr împreună cu El, ca să putem fi şi proslăviţi împreună cu El. Slava care ne aşteaptă

¶ and if sons, also heirs certainly of God and joint-heirs with Christ, if so be that we suffer with him that we may be also glorified together with him.

18 C ăci consider că suferinţele din vremea de acum nu sunt vrednice să fie puse alături de slava viitoare, care urmează să ne fie descoperită.

For I know with certainty that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the coming glory which shall be manifested in us.

19 C hiar şi creaţia aşteaptă cu nerăbdare descoperirea fiilor lui Dumnezeu,

For the earnest hope of the creatures waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20 î ntrucât creaţia a fost supusă deşertăciunii, – nu pentru că a vrut ea, ci datorită Celui Ce a supus-o –, în nădejdea

For the creatures were subjected to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who has subjected them,

21 c ă şi creaţia însăşi va fi eliberată din sclavia degradării şi adusă în libertatea glorioasă a copiilor lui Dumnezeu.

with the hope that the same creatures shall be delivered from the slavery of corruption into the glorious liberty of the sons of God.

22 N oi ştim că, până acum, întreaga creaţie geme şi suferă durerile naşterii.

For we now know that all the creatures groan together and travail in pain together until now.

23 Ş i nu numai ea, ci şi noi înşine, care avem primul rod, adică Duhul, gemem în noi înşine, aşteptând înfierea, răscumpărarea trupurilor noastre.

And not only they, but ourselves also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, that is to say, the redemption of our body.

24 C ăci în această nădejde am fost mântuiţi. Dar o nădejde care se vede nu mai este nădejde! Fiindcă, cine mai nădăjduieşte în ceea ce vede deja?!

For in hope we are saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for what a man sees, he does not wait for.

25 D acă însă nădăjduim în ceea ce nu vedem, atunci aşteptăm cu răbdare.

But if we wait for that which we do not see, with patience we wait for it.

26 Î n acelaşi fel, Duhul ne ajută în slăbiciunea noastră, pentru că noi nu ştim cum ar trebui să ne rugăm, ci Duhul Însuşi mijloceşte cu suspine nerostite;

¶ And likewise also the Spirit helps our weakness; for we know not how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit itself makes entreaty for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27 î nsă Cel Care cercetează inimile, cunoaşte care este gândirea Duhului, pentru că Acesta mijloceşte pentru sfinţi potrivit cu voia lui Dumnezeu. Victorie deplină prin Cel Care ne-a iubit

But he that searches the hearts knows what is the desire of the Spirit, that according to the will of God, he makes entreaty for the saints.

28 N oi ştim că toate lucrează împreună spre binele celor ce-L iubesc pe Dumnezeu, al celor ce sunt chemaţi în conformitate cu planul Său.

And we now know that unto those who love God, all things help them unto good, to those who according to the purpose are called to be saints.

29 C ăci pe cei pe care i-a cunoscut mai dinainte, El i-a şi hotărât mai dinainte să fie asemenea chipului Fiului Său, ca Acesta să fie primul născut dintre mai mulţi fraţi.

¶ For unto those whom he knew beforehand, he also marked out beforehand the way that they might be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Ş i pe aceia pe care i-a hotărât mai dinainte, i-a şi chemat; pe aceia pe care i-a chemat, i-a şi îndreptăţit; iar pe aceia pe care i-a îndreptăţit, i-a şi glorificat.

And unto those whom he did mark out beforehand the way, to these he also called; and to whom he called, these he also justified; and to whom he justified, these he also glorified.

31 C e vom spune deci despre aceste lucruri? Dacă Dumnezeu este pentru noi, cine va fi împotriva noastră?!

¶ What shall we then say to these things? If God is for us, who shall be against us?

32 E l, Care nu Şi-a cruţat propriul Său Fiu, ci L-a dat pentru noi toţi, cum nu ne va da, împreună cu El, toate lucrurile?!

He that did not spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also give us all things with him?

33 C ine va aduce vreo acuzaţie împotriva aleşilor lui Dumnezeu? Dumnezeu este Cel Care-i îndreptăţeşte.

Who shall accuse the chosen of God’s? God is he that justifies them.

34 C ine este cel care-i va condamna? Cristos Isus, Cel Care a murit şi Care, mai mult decât atât, a fost înviat, este la dreapta lui Dumnezeu şi mijloceşte pentru noi.

Who is he that condemns them? Christ, Jesus, is he who died and, even more, he that also rose again, who furthermore is at the right hand of God, who also makes entreaty for us.

35 C ine ne va despărţi de dragostea lui Cristos? Necazul, sau greutăţile, sau persecuţia, sau foametea, sau lipsa de îmbrăcăminte, sau pericolul, sau sabia?

Who shall separate us from the charity of Christ? shall tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword?

36 A şa cum este scris: „Din pricina Ta suntem daţi morţii toată ziua, suntem consideraţi ca nişte oi pentru tăiere.“

(As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.)

37 Î nsă, în toate aceste lucruri, noi avem victorie deplină prin Cel Care ne-a iubit.

Nevertheless, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 E u sunt convins că nici moartea, nici viaţa, nici îngerii, nici demonii, nici lucrurile prezente, nici cele viitoare, nici puterile,

Therefore I am certain that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come

39 n ici înălţimea, nici adâncimea, nici orice altceva din creaţie nu vor fi în stare să ne despartă de dragostea lui Dumnezeu, care este în Cristos Isus, Domnul nostru!

nor height nor depth nor any creature shall be able to separate us from the charity of God, which is in Christ, Jesus our Lord.
