1 L 'Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:

The Lord said to Moses,

2 L e premier jour du premier mois, tu dresseras le tabernacle, la tente d'assignation.

“Set up the holy tent, the meeting tent, on the first day of the first month.

3 T u y placeras l'arche du témoignage, et tu couvriras l'arche avec le voile.

Put the special box of the Law there. And hang the curtain in front of it.

4 T u apporteras la table, et tu la disposeras en ordre. Tu apporteras le chandelier, et tu en arrangeras les lampes.

Bring in the table and set its objects on it. Bring in the lamp-stand and light its lamps.

5 T u placeras l'autel d'or pour le parfum devant l'arche du témoignage, et tu mettras le rideau à l'entrée du tabernacle.

Set the gold altar of special perfume in front of the box of the Law. Hang the curtain for the door of the meeting tent.

6 T u placeras l'autel des holocaustes devant l'entrée du tabernacle, de la tente d'assignation.

Set the altar of burnt gifts in front of the door of the holy tent, the meeting tent.

7 T u placeras la cuve entre la tente d'assignation et l'autel, et tu y mettras de l'eau.

Set the washing pot between the meeting tent and the altar and put water in it.

8 T u placeras le parvis à l'entour, et tu mettras le rideau à la porte du parvis.

Hang the curtains all around the open space and hang the curtain at the gate of the open space.

9 T u prendras l'huile d'onction, tu en oindras le tabernacle et tout ce qu'il renferme, et tu le sanctifieras, avec tous ses ustensiles; et il sera saint.

Then take the oil and pour it upon the meeting tent and all that is in it. Set it apart with all its objects, and it will be holy.

10 T u oindras l'autel des holocaustes et tous ses ustensiles, et tu sanctifieras l'autel; et l'autel sera très saint.

Pour the oil upon the altar of burnt gifts and all its objects. Set the altar apart, and it will be most holy.

11 T u oindras la cuve avec sa base, et tu la sanctifieras.

Pour the oil upon the washing pot and its stand, to set it apart.

12 T u feras avancer Aaron et ses fils vers l'entrée de la tente d'assignation, et tu les laveras avec de l'eau.

“Then bring Aaron and his sons to the door of the meeting tent. And wash them with water.

13 T u revêtiras Aaron des vêtements sacrés, tu l'oindras, et tu le sanctifieras, pour qu'il soit à mon service dans le sacerdoce.

Put the holy clothing on Aaron. Then pour oil upon him and set him apart to work for Me as a religious leader.

14 T u feras approcher ses fils, tu les revêtiras des tuniques,

Bring his sons and put long coats on them.

15 e t tu les oindras comme tu auras oint leur père, pour qu'ils soient à mon service dans le sacerdoce. Cette onction leur assurera à perpétuité le sacerdoce parmi leurs descendants.

Then pour oil upon them as you have done to their father, so they may serve Me as religious leaders. Pouring oil upon them will make them ready to be religious leaders, they and all their children-to-come.”

16 M oïse fit tout ce que l'Éternel lui avait ordonné; il fit ainsi.

Moses did all that the Lord told him to do.

17 L e premier jour du premier mois de la seconde année, le tabernacle fut dressé.

On the first day of the first month of the second year, the meeting tent was set up.

18 M oïse dressa le tabernacle; il en posa les bases, plaça les planches et les barres, et éleva les colonnes.

Moses set up the meeting tent, laid the bases, set up its pieces of wood, put in its cross-pieces and set up its pillars.

19 I l étendit la tente sur le tabernacle, et il mit la couverture de la tente par-dessus, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

He spread the covering over the meeting tent. And he put the top covering over it, just as the Lord had told Moses.

20 I l prit le témoignage, et le plaça dans l'arche; il mit les barres à l'arche, et il posa le propitiatoire au-dessus de l'arche.

Then he took the Law and put it into the special box. He put the long pieces of wood on the special box of the agreement. And he put the mercy-seat on top of the special box.

21 I l apporta l'arche dans le tabernacle; il mit le voile de séparation, et il en couvrit l'arche du témoignage, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

He brought the special box into the meeting tent and hung the curtain. He put the curtain in front of the special box of the agreement, just as the Lord had told Moses.

22 I l plaça la table dans la tente d'assignation, au côté septentrional du tabernacle, en dehors du voile;

Then he put the table in the meeting tent, on the north side of the tent, outside the curtain.

23 e t il y déposa en ordre les pains, devant l'Éternel, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

He set the bread in its place on the table before the Lord, just as the Lord had told Moses.

24 I l plaça le chandelier dans la tente d'assignation, en face de la table, au côté méridional du tabernacle;

Then he put the lamp-stand in the meeting tent, away from the table, on the south side of the tent.

25 e t il en arrangea les lampes, devant l'Éternel, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

He set up the lamps before the Lord, just as the Lord had told Moses.

26 I l plaça l'autel d'or dans la tente d'assignation, devant le voile;

He put the gold altar in the tent of meeting, in front of the curtain.

27 e t il y fit brûler le parfum odoriférant, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

And he burned sweet-smelling perfume on it, just as the Lord had told Moses.

28 I l plaça le rideau à l'entrée du tabernacle.

Then he hung the curtain at the door of the meeting tent.

29 I l plaça l'autel des holocaustes à l'entrée du tabernacle, de la tente d'assignation; et il y offrit l'holocauste et l'offrande, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

He set the altar of burnt gifts in front of the door of the meeting tent. And he gave the burnt gift and the grain gift on it, just as the Lord had told Moses.

30 I l plaça la cuve entre la tente d'assignation et l'autel, et il y mit de l'eau pour les ablutions;

He put the washing pot between the tent of meeting and the altar, with water in it for washing.

31 M oïse, Aaron et ses fils, s'y lavèrent les mains et les pieds;

Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and feet there.

32 l orsqu'ils entrèrent dans la tente d'assignation et qu'ils s'approchèrent de l'autel, ils se lavèrent, comme l'Éternel l'avait ordonné à Moïse.

They washed when they came into the tent of meeting and when they came near the altar, just as the Lord had told Moses.

33 I l dressa le parvis autour du tabernacle et de l'autel, et il mit le rideau à la porte du parvis. Ce fut ainsi que Moïse acheva l'ouvrage.

He made the open space all around the meeting tent and the altar. And he hung the curtain for the gate of the open space. So Moses finished the work. The Cloud over the Meeting Tent

34 A lors la nuée couvrit la tente d'assignation, et la gloire de l'Éternel remplit le tabernacle.

Then the cloud covered the meeting tent. The shining-greatness of the Lord filled the holy tent.

35 M oïse ne pouvait pas entrer dans la tente d'assignation, parce que la nuée restait dessus, et que la gloire de l'Éternel remplissait le tabernacle.

Moses was not able to go into the meeting tent because the cloud had rested upon it and the shining-greatness of the Lord filled the holy tent.

36 A ussi longtemps que durèrent leurs marches, les enfants d'Israël partaient, quand la nuée s'élevait de dessus le tabernacle.

When the cloud was lifted from the meeting tent, the people of Israel would go on their way through all their traveling days.

37 E t quand la nuée ne s'élevait pas, ils ne partaient pas, jusqu'à ce qu'elle s'élevât.

But when the cloud was not lifted, they did not move on until the day when it was lifted.

38 L a nuée de l'Éternel était de jour sur le tabernacle; et de nuit, il y avait un feu, aux yeux de toute la maison d'Israël, pendant toutes leurs marches.

For the cloud of the Lord rested on the meeting tent during the day. And fire was in the cloud during the night. It was seen by all the people of Israel as they traveled.
