1 ( 7: 1) Complainte de David. Chantée à l'Éternel, au sujet de Cusch, Benjamite. (7: 2) Éternel, mon Dieu! je cherche en toi mon refuge; Sauve-moi de tous mes persécuteurs, et délivre-moi,

O Lord my God, in You I have put my trust. Save me from all those who come for me, and keep me safe.

2 ( 7: 3) Afin qu'il ne me déchire pas, comme un lion Qui dévore sans que personne vienne au secours.

Or they will tear me like a lion, carrying me away where there is no one to help.

3 ( 7: 4) Éternel, mon Dieu! si j'ai fait cela, S'il y a de l'iniquité dans mes mains,

O Lord my God, if I have done this, and there is guilt on my hands,

4 ( 7: 5) Si j'ai rendu le mal à celui qui était paisible envers moi, Si j'ai dépouillé celui qui m'opprimait sans cause,

if I have done wrong to him who was at peace with me, or without a reason have robbed him who worked against me,

5 ( 7: 6) Que l'ennemi me poursuive et m'atteigne, Qu'il foule à terre ma vie, Et qu'il couche ma gloire dans la poussière! -Pause.

let him who hates me come for me and catch me. Let him break me under his feet until I die, and lay my honor in the dust.

6 ( 7: 7) Lève-toi, ô Éternel! dans ta colère, Lève-toi contre la fureur de mes adversaires, Réveille-toi pour me secourir, ordonne un jugement!

Rise up in Your anger, O Lord. Rise up against the anger of those who hate me. Awake, my God, and help me. Prove what is right.

7 ( 7: 8) Que l'assemblée des peuples t'environne! Monte au-dessus d'elle vers les lieux élevés!

Let the people gather around You, and rule over them from Your throne.

8 ( 7: 9) L'Éternel juge les peuples: Rends-moi justice, ô Éternel! Selon mon droit et selon mon innocence!

May the Lord judge which people are guilty or not. O Lord, judge in my favor if I am right with You, and if I am without blame.

9 ( 7: 10) Mets un terme à la malice des méchants, Et affermis le juste, Toi qui sondes les coeurs et les reins, Dieu juste!

Let the sins of the sinful stop. But build up those who are right with You. For the God Who is right and good tests both the hearts and the minds.

10 ( 7: 11) Mon bouclier est en Dieu, Qui sauve ceux dont le coeur est droit.

I am kept safe by God, Who saves those who are pure in heart.

11 ( 7: 12) Dieu est un juste juge, Dieu s'irrite en tout temps.

God is always right in how He judges. He is angry with the sinful every day.

12 ( 7: 13) Si le méchant ne se convertit pas, il aiguise son glaive, Il bande son arc, et il vise;

If a man is not sorry for his sins and will not turn from them, God will make His sword sharp. He will string His bow and make it ready.

13 ( 7: 14) Il dirige sur lui des traits meurtriers, Il rend ses flèches brûlantes.

He takes up His sword and the bow of death. And He makes arrows of fire.

14 ( 7: 15) Voici, le méchant prépare le mal, Il conçoit l'iniquité, et il enfante le néant.

See how the sinful man thinks up sins and plans trouble and lies start growing inside him.

15 ( 7: 16) Il ouvre une fosse, il la creuse, Et il tombe dans la fosse qu'il a faite.

He has dug out a deep hole, and has fallen into the hole he has dug.

16 ( 7: 17) Son iniquité retombe sur sa tête, Et sa violence redescend sur son front.

The trouble he makes will return to him. When he hurts others it will come down on his own head.

17 ( 7: 18) Je louerai l'Éternel à cause de sa justice, Je chanterai le nom de l'Éternel, du Très Haut.

I will give thanks to the Lord because He is right and good. I will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.
