1 E veryone who believes (adheres to, trusts, and relies on the fact) that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah) is a born-again child of God; and everyone who loves the Father also loves the one born of Him (His offspring).

Всеки, който вярва, че Исус е Христос, е роден от Бога; и всеки, който обича Родителя, обича и Родения от Него.

2 B y this we come to know (recognize and understand) that we love the children of God: when we love God and obey His commands (orders, charges)—.

По това познаваме, че обичаме Божиите чеда, когато обичаме Бога и изпълняваме Неговите заповеди,

3 F or the love of God is this: that we do His commands. And these orders of His are not irksome (burdensome, oppressive, or grievous).

защото това е любов към Бога: да пазим Неговите заповеди; а заповедите Му не са тежки.

4 F or whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory that conquers the world, even our faith.

Защото всичко, което е родено от Бога, побеждава света; и тази победа, която е победила света, е спечелила нашата вяра.

5 W ho is it that is victorious over the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God ?

И кой побеждава света, ако не е този, който вярва, че Исус е Божият Син?

6 T his is He Who came by (with) water and blood '> His baptism and His death], Jesus Christ (the Messiah)—not by (in) the water only, but by (in) the water and the blood. And it is the Spirit Who bears witness, because the Spirit is the Truth.

Това е Исус Христос, Който е дошъл чрез вода и кръв; не само чрез водата, а чрез водата и чрез кръвта;

7 S o there are three witnesses in heaven: the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit, and these three are One;

и Духът е, Който свидетелства, понеже Духът е истината.

8 a nd there are three witnesses on the earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree.

Защото три са, които свидетелстват: Духът, водата и кръвта; и тези три са съгласни.

9 I f we accept the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater (of stronger authority), for this is the testimony of God, even the witness which He has borne regarding His Son.

Ако приемаме свидетелството на човеците, свидетелството на Бога е по-важно; защото това, което Бог заявява, е, че Той е свидетелствал за Сина Си.

10 H e who believes in the Son of God has the testimony within himself. He who does not believe God has made Him out to be and represented Him as a liar, because he has not believed (put his faith in, adhered to, and relied on) the evidence (the testimony) that God has borne regarding His Son.

Който вярва в Божия Син, има това свидетелство в себе си; който не вярва на Бога, направил Го е лъжец, защото не е повярвал на свидетелството, което Бог е свидетелствал за Своя Син.

11 A nd this is that testimony (that evidence): God gave us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

И свидетелството е това, че Бог ни е дал вечен живот и че този живот е в Неговия Син.

12 H e who possesses the Son has that life; he who does not possess the Son of God does not have that life.

Който има Сина, има този живот; който няма Божия Син, няма този живот.

13 I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the name of the Son of God '> the peculiar services and blessings conferred by Him on men], so that you may know that you have life, yes, eternal life.

Това писах на вас, които вярвате в името на Божия Син, за да знаете, че имате вечен живот и да вярвате в името на Божия Син.

14 A nd this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.

И дръзновението, което имаме пред Него, е това, че ако просим нещо по Неговата воля, Той ни слуша;

15 A nd if (since) we know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know that we have the requests made of Him.

и ако знаем, че ни слуша, за каквото и да попросим, знаем, че получаваме това, което сме просили от Него.

16 I f anyone sees his brother committing a sin that does not death (the extinguishing of life), he will pray and will give him life. There is a sin to death; I do not say that one should pray for that.

Ако някой види брат си, че извърши несмъртен грях, нека се моли и Бог ще му даде живот, т. е. на онези, които съгрешават несмъртно. Има грях (водещ) към смърт - не казвам за него да се моли.

17 A ll wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin which does not death.

Всяка неправда е грях; и има грях, който не води към смърт.

18 W e know that anyone born of God does not practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over and protects him, and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch.

Знаем, че всеки, който е роден от Бога, не съгрешава; но онзи, който се е родил от Бога, пази себе си и лукавият не се докосва до него.

19 W e know that we are of God, and the whole world is under the power of the evil one.

Знаем, че ние сме от Бога; и целият свят лежи в лукавия.

20 A nd we know that the Son of God has come to this world and has given us understanding and insight to perceive (recognize) and come to know better and more clearly Him Who is true; and we are in Him Who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ (the Messiah). This is the true God and Life eternal.

Знаем също, че Божият Син е дошъл и ни е дал разум да познаем истинния Бог; и ние сме в Истинния, в Неговия Син Исус Христос. Този е истинският Бог и вечен живот.

21 L ittle children, keep yourselves from idols (false gods)—. Amen (so let it be).
