1 Y habitaron los príncipes del pueblo en Jerusalén; mas el resto del pueblo echó suertes para traer uno de diez que morara en Jerusalén, ciudad santa, y las nueve partes en las otras ciudades.

Now the leaders of the people lived in Jerusalem. But the rest of the people drew names to bring one out of ten to live in Jerusalem, the holy city, while nine-tenths stayed in the other cities.

2 Y bendijo el pueblo a todos los varones que voluntariamente se ofrecieron a morar en Jerusalén.

And the people praised all the men who were willing to live in Jerusalem.

3 Y éstos son las cabezas de la provincia que moraron en Jerusalén; mas en las ciudades de Judá habitaron cada uno en su posesión en sus ciudades, de Israel, de los sacerdotes, levitas, netineos, y de los hijos de los siervos de Salomón.

These are the leaders of the lands who lived in Jerusalem but in the cities of Judah every one lived on his own land there: Israel, the religious leaders, the Levites, the servants in the house of God, and the children of Solomon’s servants.

4 E n Jerusalén, pues, habitaron de los hijos de Judá, y de los hijos de Benjamín. De los hijos de Judá: Ataías, hijo de Uzías, hijo de Zacarías, hijo de Amarías, hijo de Sefatías, hijo de Mahalaleel, de los hijos de Fares;

Some of the sons of Judah and some of the sons of Benjamin lived in Jerusalem. Of the sons of Judah there was Athaiah the son of Uzziah, son of Zechariah, son of Amariah, son of Shephatiah, son of Mahalalel, of the sons of Perez,

5 y Maasías hijo de Baruc, hijo de Colhoze, hijo de Hazaías, hijo de Adaías, hijo de Joiarib, hijo de Zacarías, hijo de Siloni.

and Maaseiah the son of Baruch, son of Col-hozeh, son of Hazaiah, son of Adaiah, son of Joiarib, son of Zechariah, son of the Shilonite.

6 T odos los hijos de Fares que moraron en Jerusalén, fueron cuatrocientos sesenta y ocho varones fuertes.

All the sons of Perez who lived in Jerusalem were 468 able men.

7 Y éstos son los hijos de Benjamín: Salú hijo de Mesulam, hijo de Joed, hijo de Pedaías, hijo de Colaías, hijo de Maasías, hijo de Itiel, hijo de Jesaías.

The sons of Benjamin are Sallu the son of Meshullam, son of Joed, son of Pedaiah, son of Kolaiah, son of Maaseiah, son of Ithiel, son of Jeshaiah,

8 Y tras él, Gabai y Salai, novecientos veintiocho.

and after him Gabbai and Sallai, 928 men.

9 Y Joel hijo de Zicri, era el prefecto de ellos, y Judá hijo de Senúa, el segundo de la ciudad.

Joel the son of Zichri watched over them, and Judah the son of Hassenuah was second over the city.

Of the religious leaders there were Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, Jachin,

11 S eraías hijo de Hilcías, hijo de Mesulam, hijo de Sadoc, hijo de Meraiot, hijo de Ahitob, príncipe de la Casa de Dios,

Seraiah the son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, the leader of the house of God,

12 y sus hermanos los que hacían la obra de la Casa, ochocientos veintidós; y Adaías hijo de Jeroham, hijo de Pelalías, hijo de Amsi, hijo de Zacarías, hijo de Pasur, hijo de Malquías,

and their brothers who did the work of the house of God, 822 men. And there was Adaiah the son of Jeroham, son of Pelaliah, son of Amzi, son of Zechariah, son of Pashhur, son of Malchijah,

13 y sus hermanos, príncipes de familias, doscientos cuarenta y dos; y Amasai hijo de Azareel, hijo de Azai, hijo de Mesilemot, hijo de Imer,

and his brothers, heads of family groups, 242 men. And there was Amashsai the son of Azarel, son of Ahzai, son of Meshillemoth, son of Immer,

14 y sus hermanos, valientes de fuerza, ciento veintiocho, capitán de los cuales era Zabdiel, hijo de Gedolim.

and their brothers, 128 men with strength of heart. Zabdiel, the son of Haggedolim, watched over them.

15 Y de los levitas: Semaías hijo de Hasub, hijo de Azricam, hijo de Hasabías, hijo de Buni;

Of the Levites there was Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, son of Bunni,

16 S abetai y Jozabad, de los principales de los levitas, capataces de la obra exterior de la Casa de Dios;

and Shabbethai and Jozabad, from the leaders of the Levites. They watched over the outside work of the house of God.

17 y Matanías hijo de Micaía, hijo de Zabdi, hijo de Asaf, el principal, el que empezaba las alabanzas y acción de gracias al tiempo de la oración; y Bacbuquías el segundo de entre sus hermanos; y Abda hijo de Samúa, hijo de Galal, hijo de Jedutún.

And there was Mattaniah the son of Mica, son of Zabdi, son of Asaph, who was the leader in beginning the giving of thanks at prayer, and Bakbukiah, the second among his brothers. And there was Abda the son of Shammua, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun.

18 T odos los levitas en la santa ciudad fueron doscientos ochenta y cuatro.

All the Levites in the holy city were 284.

19 Y los porteros, Acub, Talmón, y sus hermanos, guardas en las puertas, ciento setenta y dos.

The gate-keepers, Akkub, Talmon, and their brothers, who kept watch at the gates, were 172.

20 Y el resto de Israel, de los sacerdotes, y de los levitas, en todas las ciudades de Judá, cada uno en su heredad.

The rest of Israel, of the religious leaders and of the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, each in the land he had been given.

21 Y los netineos habitaban en Ofel (la fortaleza); y Ziha y Gispa eran sobre los netineos.

But the servants of the house of God were living in Ophel. Ziha and Gishpa were over the servants of the house of God.

22 Y el prepósito de los levitas en Jerusalén era Uzi hijo de Bani, hijo de Hasabías, hijo de Matanías, hijo de Micaía de los cantores los hijos de Asaf, sobre la obra de la Casa de Dios.

The one who watched over the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, son of Hashabiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Mica, from the sons of Asaph, the singers for the work of the house of God.

23 P orque había mandamiento del rey acerca de ellos, y determinación acerca de los cantores para cada día.

For the king had said that the singers must be given what they need each day.

24 Y Petaías hijo de Mesezabeel, de los hijos de Zera hijo de Judá, estaba a la mano del rey en todo negocio del pueblo.

Pethahiah the son of Meshezabel, of the sons of Zerah the son of Judah, was the king’s workman in everything to do with the people. The People Living outside Jerusalem

25 Y tocante a las aldeas y sus tierras, algunos de los hijos de Judá habitaron en Quiriat-arba y sus aldeas, y en Dibón y sus aldeas, y en Jecabseel y sus aldeas;

As for the villages with their fields, some of the sons of Judah lived in Kiriath-arba and its villages, in Dibon and its villages, in Jekabzeel and its villages,

26 e n Jesúa, Molada, y en Bet-pelet;

in Jeshua, Moladah, Beth-pelet,

27 e n Hazar-sual, en Beerseba, y en sus aldeas;

Hazar-shual, Beersheba and its villages,

28 e n Siclag, en Mecona, y en sus aldeas;

Ziklag, Meconah and its villages,

29 e n En-rimón, en Zora y en Jarmut;

En-rimmon, Zorah, Jarmuth,

30 e n Zanoa, en Adulam, y en sus aldeas; en Laquis y sus tierras, y en Azeca y sus aldeas. Y habitaron desde Beerseba hasta el valle de Hinom.

Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and its fields, and Azekah and its villages. So they lived from Beersheba as far as the valley of Hinnom.

31 Y los hijos de Benjamín desde Geba en Micmas en Aía, en Bet-el y sus aldeas;

The sons of Benjamin lived in Geba, Michmash, Aija, Bethel and its villages,

32 e n Anatot, Nob, Ananías;

Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,

33 H azor, Ramá, Gitaim;

Hazor, Ramah, Gittaim,

34 H adid, Seboim, Nebalat;

Hadid, Zeboim, Neballat,

35 L od, y Ono, valle de los artífices.

Lod, and Ono, the valley of able workmen.

36 Y algunos de los levitas, en los repartimientos de Judá y de Benjamín.

And certain groups of the Levites in Judah were joined to Benjamin.
