1 A l no haber estado el SEÑOR por nosotros, diga ahora Israel:

“If the Lord had not been on our side,” let Israel say,

2 A l no haber estado el SEÑOR por nosotros, cuando se levantaron contra nosotros los hombres,

“If the Lord had not been on our side when men came against us,

3 v ivos nos habrían entonces tragado, cuando se encendió su furor contra nosotros.

they would have eaten us up alive. Because their anger burned against us.

4 E ntonces nos habrían inundado las aguas; sobre nuestra alma hubiera pasado el torrente;

The waters would have covered us. The river would have passed over our soul.

5 h ubieran entonces pasado sobre nuestra alma las aguas soberbias.

The angry waters would have passed over our soul.”

6 ¶ Bendito el SEÑOR, que no nos dio por presa a sus dientes.

Honor and thanks be to the Lord! He has not let us be torn by their teeth.

7 N uestra alma escapó cual ave del lazo de los cazadores; se quebró el lazo, y escapamos nosotros.

We have become free like a bird out of a trap. The net is broken and now we are free.

8 N uestro socorro es en el Nombre del SEÑOR, que hizo el cielo y la tierra.

Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
