1 ¶ Y aconteció después de la muerte de Moisés siervo del SEÑOR, que El SEÑOR habló a Josué hijo de Nun, criado de Moisés, diciendo:

After the death of the Lord’s servant Moses, the Lord said to Moses’ helper, Joshua the son of Nun,

2 M i siervo Moisés ha muerto; levántate pues ahora, y pasa este Jordán, tú y todo este pueblo, a la tierra que yo les doy a los hijos de Israel.

“My servant Moses is dead. So you and all these people get up and cross the Jordan River to the land I am giving to the people of Israel.

3 Y o os he entregado, como lo había dicho a Moisés, todo lugar que pisare la planta de vuestro pie.

I have given you every place where the bottom of your foot steps, as I promised Moses.

4 D esde el desierto y este Líbano hasta el gran río Eufrates, toda la tierra de los heteos hasta el gran mar del poniente del sol, será vuestro término.

Your land will be from the desert and from Lebanon as far as the big Euphrates River. It will be all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea on the west.

5 N adie te podrá hacer frente en todos los días de tu vida; como yo fui con Moisés, seré contigo; no te dejaré, ni te desampararé.

No man will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. I will be with you just as I have been with Moses. I will be faithful to you and will not leave you alone.

6 E sfuérzate y sé valiente; porque tú harás heredar a este pueblo la tierra por herencia, de la cual juré a sus padres que la daría a ellos.

Be strong and have strength of heart. For you will bring the people in to take this land which I promised to their fathers to give them.

7 S olamente esfuérzate, y sé muy valiente, para que guardes y hagas conforme a toda mi ley, que Moisés, mi siervo, te mandó; que no te apartes de ella ni a diestra ni a siniestra, para que seas prosperado en todas las cosas que emprendieres.

Only be strong and have much strength of heart. Be careful to obey all the Law which My servant Moses told you. Do not turn from it to the right or to the left. Then all will go well with you everywhere you go.

8 E l libro de esta ley nunca se apartará de tu boca; antes de día y de noche meditarás en él, para que guardes y hagas conforme a todo lo que en él está escrito; porque entonces harás prosperar tu camino, y todo lo entenderás.

This book of the Law must not leave your mouth. Think about it day and night, so you may be careful to do all that is written in it. Then all will go well with you. You will receive many good things.

9 M ira que te mando que te esfuerces, y seas valiente; no temas ni desmayes, porque yo el SEÑOR tu Dios estoy contigo en donde quiera que vayas.

Have I not told you? Be strong and have strength of heart! Do not be afraid or lose faith. For the Lord your God is with you anywhere you go.” Joshua Tells the People to Go

10 ¶ Y Josué mandó a los oficiales del pueblo, diciendo:

Then Joshua told the leaders of the people,

11 P asad por en medio del campamento, y mandad al pueblo, diciendo: Preparaos de comida; porque dentro de tres días pasaréis el Jordán, para que entréis a heredar la tierra que el SEÑOR vuestro Dios os da para que la heredéis.

“Go among the tents and tell the people, ‘Gather together the things you will need. For within three days you will cross this Jordan to go in to take the land the Lord your God is giving you for your own.’”

12 T ambién habló Josué a los rubenitas y gaditas, y a la media tribu de Manasés, diciendo:

To the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-family group of Manasseh, Joshua said,

13 A cordaos de la palabra que Moisés, siervo del SEÑOR, os mandó diciendo: El SEÑOR vuestro Dios os ha dado reposo, y os ha dado esta tierra.

“Remember what the Lord’s servant Moses told you, saying, ‘The Lord your God gives you rest, and will give you this land.’

14 V uestras mujeres y vuestros niños y vuestras bestias, quedarán en la tierra que Moisés os ha dado de este lado del Jordán; mas vosotros, todos los valientes de proeza, pasaréis armados delante de vuestros hermanos, y les ayudaréis;

Your wives, your children and your cattle will stay in the land Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But you and all your strong-hearted soldiers will cross the river dressed for battle in front of your brothers. You will help them

15 h asta tanto que el SEÑOR haya dado reposo a vuestros hermanos como a vosotros, y que ellos también hereden la tierra que el SEÑOR vuestro Dios les da; y después volveréis vosotros a la tierra de vuestra herencia, y la heredaréis; la cual Moisés, siervo del SEÑOR, os ha dado, de este lado del Jordán hacia donde nace el sol.

until the Lord gives your brothers rest, as He has given you. Help them until they own the land the Lord your God is giving them. Then you will return to your own land. You will own what the Lord’s servant Moses gave you on the east side of the Jordan.”

16 ¶ Entonces ellos respondieron a Josué, diciendo: Nosotros haremos todas las cosas que nos has mandado, e iremos adondequiera que nos enviares.

They answered Joshua, saying, “We will do all that you have told us. And we will go anywhere you send us.

17 D e la manera que escuchábamos a Moisés en todas las cosas, así te escucharemos a ti; solamente el SEÑOR tu Dios esté contigo, como estuvo con Moisés.

We will obey you in all things just as we obeyed Moses. Only may the Lord your God be with you as He was with Moses.

18 C ualquiera que fuere rebelde a tu mandamiento, y que no oyere tus palabras en todas las cosas que le mandares, que muera; solamente que te esfuerces, y seas valiente.

Anyone who goes against what you say, and does not obey all that you tell him to do, will be put to death. Only be strong and have strength of heart.”
