1 E n aquel tiempo, dijo el SEÑOR, yo seré por Dios a todos los linajes de Israel, y ellos me serán a mí por pueblo.

“At that time,” says the Lord, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be My people.”

2 A sí dijo el SEÑOR: Halló gracia en el desierto el pueblo, los que escaparon de la espada, yendo yo para hacer hallar reposo a Israel.

The Lord says, “The people who were not killed by the sword found loving-favor in the desert, when Israel looked for rest.”

3 E l SEÑOR se manifestó a mí hace ya mucho tiempo, diciendo: Con amor eterno te he amado; por tanto te soporté con misericordia.

The Lord came to us from far away, saying, “I have loved you with a love that lasts forever. So I have helped you come to Me with loving-kindness.

4 A ún te edificaré, y serás edificada, oh virgen de Israel; todavía serás adornada con tus panderos, y saldrás en corro de danzantes.

Again I will build you, and you will be built, O pure Israel! Again you will take up your brass noise-makers and go to the dances of the happy people.

5 A ún plantarás viñas en los montes de Samaria; plantarán los plantadores, y harán común uso de ellas.

Again you will plant grape-fields on the hills of Samaria. The planters will plant and find joy in the fruit.

6 P orque habrá día en que clamarán los guardas en el monte de Efraín: Levantaos, y subamos en Sion, al SEÑOR nuestro Dios.

For there will be a day when watchmen on the hills of Ephraim will call out, ‘Get up, and let us go up to Zion, to the Lord our God.’”

7 P orque así dijo el SEÑOR: Regocijaos en Jacob con alegría, y dad voces de júbilo a la cabeza de los gentiles; haced oír, alabad, y decid: Oh SEÑOR, salva tu pueblo, el remanente de Israel.

For the Lord says, “Sing loud with joy for Jacob, and call out among the heads of the nations. Make it known, give praise, and say, ‘O Lord, save Your people. Save those who are left of Israel.’

8 H e aquí yo los torno de tierra del aquilón, y los junto de los fines de la tierra, habrá entre ellos ciegos y cojos, y mujeres que están encinta y las que dieron a luz juntamente; en gran compañía tornarán acá.

See, I am bringing them from the north country. And I will gather them from the farthest parts of the earth. Among them will be the blind and those who cannot walk, the woman with child and she who is giving birth, together. Many people will return here.

9 I rán con lloro, mas con misericordias los haré volver, y los haré andar junto a arroyos de aguas, por camino derecho en el cual no tropezarán; porque seré a Israel por Padre, y Efraín será mi primogénito.

They will come crying, and in answer to their prayers, I will lead them. I will make them walk by rivers of waters on a straight path where they will not fall. For I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is My first-born.”

10 O íd palabra del SEÑOR, oh gentiles, y hacedlo saber en las islas que están lejos, y decid: El que esparció a Israel lo juntará y lo guardará, como pastor a su ganado.

Hear the Word of the Lord, O nations, and make it known in the lands far across the sea. Say, “He Who sent Israel everywhere will gather them, and will watch over His flock like a shepherd.”

11 P orque el SEÑOR rescató a Jacob, lo redimió de mano del más fuerte que él.

For the Lord has paid the price to make Jacob free. He has made him free from the one who was stronger than he.

12 Y vendrán, y harán alabanzas en lo alto de Sion, y correrán al bien del SEÑOR, al pan, al vino, al aceite, y al ganado de las ovejas y de las vacas; y su alma será como huerto de riego, y nunca más tendrán dolor.

And they will come and call out for joy on the height of Zion. They will shine with joy over the goodness of the Lord, over the grain, the new wine, and the oil, and over the young of the flock and the cattle. Their life will be like a well-watered garden. They will never have sorrow again.

13 E ntonces la virgen se alegrará en la danza, los jóvenes y los viejos juntamente; y su lloro tornaré en gozo, y los consolaré, y los alegraré de su dolor.

Then the young women who have never had a man will dance for joy, and the young men and old as well. For I will change their sorrow to joy, and will comfort them. I will give them joy for their sorrow.

14 Y el alma del sacerdote embriagaré de grosura, y será mi pueblo saciado de mi bien, dijo el SEÑOR.

I will fill the soul of the religious leaders with more than they need. My people will be filled with My goodness,” says the Lord. The Lord Shows His Loving-Kindness on Israel

15 A sí dijo el SEÑOR: Voz fue oída en Ramá, llanto y lloro amargo; Raquel que lamenta por sus hijos, no quiso ser consolada acerca de sus hijos, porque perecieron.

The Lord says, “The sound of crying and much sorrow is heard in Ramah. Rachel is crying for her children. She will not be comforted because they are dead.”

16 A sí dijo el SEÑOR: Reprime tu voz del llanto, y tus ojos de las lágrimas; porque salario hay para tu obra, dice el SEÑOR, y volverán de la tierra del enemigo.

The Lord says, “Keep your voice from crying and your eyes from tears. For you will receive pay for your work,” says the Lord. “They will return from the land of those who hate them.

17 E speranza también hay para tu fin, dice el SEÑOR, y los hijos volverán a su término.

There is hope for your future,” says the Lord, “and your children will return to their own land.

18 E scuchando, oí a Efraín que se lamentaba: Me azotaste, y fui castigado como novillo indómito; conviérteme y seré convertido; porque tú eres el SEÑOR mi Dios.

I have heard Ephraim crying in sorrow, ‘You have punished me, and I was punished, like a calf that has not learned. Bring me back that I may return to my place, for You are the Lord my God.

19 P orque después que me convertí, tuve arrepentimiento, y después que conocí, herí el muslo; me avergoncé, y me confundí, porque llevé la afrenta de mi juventud.

For after I turned back, I was sorry for my sins. And after I was taught, I hit my upper leg in sorrow. I was ashamed and troubled, because I suffered the shame from what I did when I was young.’

20 ¿ Por ventura es Efraín hijo precioso para mí? ¿Por ventura es para mi niño delicioso? Con todo eso desde que hablé de él, me he acordado de él constantemente. Por eso mis entrañas se conmovieron por él; apiadado, tendré de él misericordia, dice el SEÑOR.

Is Ephraim My loved son? Is he the child of My joy? Yes, as many times as I have spoken against him, I still remember him. So My heart has a desire for him. For sure I will have loving-pity on him,” says the Lord.

21 E stablécete señales, ponte mojones altos; nota atentamente la calzada; el camino por donde viniste, vuélvete, virgen de Israel, vuélvete a éstas tus ciudades.

“Set up marks on the road for yourself. Set up marks to lead you the right way. Remember the way you went, and return, O pure Israel. Return to your cities.

22 ¿ Hasta cuándo andarás errante, oh hija contumaz? Porque el SEÑOR criará una cosa nueva sobre la tierra: una MUJER rodeará al varón.

How long will you go here and there, O daughter without faith? For the Lord has made a new thing on the earth: A woman will keep a man safe.” Good Will Come to God’s People

23 A sí dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Aun dirán esta palabra en la tierra de Judá y en sus ciudades, cuando yo convertiré su cautiverio: el SEÑOR te bendiga, oh Morada de justicia y monte de santidad.

The Lord of All, the God of Israel, says, “When I bring them back to their own land, once again the people in the land of Judah and in its cities will speak these words: ‘May the Lord bring good to you, O place that is right with God, O holy hill!’

24 Y morarán en ella Judá, y también en todas sus ciudades, labradores, y los que van con rebaño.

The people of Judah and all its cities will live there together, the farmer and they who go about with flocks.

25 P orque embriagué el alma cansada, y llené toda alma entristecida.

For I will help the tired ones and give strength to everyone who is weak.”

26 E n esto me desperté, y vi, y mi sueño me fue sabroso.

At this I woke up and looked, and my sleep was pleasing to me.

27 H e aquí vienen días, dijo el SEÑOR, y sembraré la Casa de Israel y la Casa de Judá de simiente de hombre y de simiente de animal.

“See, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “when I will plant the people of Israel and the people of Judah with the seed of man and the seed of animal.

28 Y será que, como tuve cuidado de ellos para arrancar y derribar, y trastornar y perder, y afligir, así tendré cuidado de ellos para edificar y plantar, dijo el SEÑOR.

And as I have watched over them to pull up, to break down, to take power away, to destroy, and to bring trouble, so I will watch over them to build and to plant,” says the Lord.

29 E n aquellos días no dirán más: Los padres comieron las uvas agrias, y los dientes de los hijos tienen la dentera.

“In those days they will no longer say, ‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children got the sour taste.’

30 S ino que cada cual morirá por su iniquidad; los dientes de todo hombre que comiere las uvas agrias, tendrán la dentera.

But every one will die for his own sin. Each man who eats the sour grapes will get the sour taste.

31 H e aquí que vienen días, dijo el SEÑOR, en los cuales haré nuevo pacto con la Casa de Jacob y con la Casa de Judá:

The days are coming,” says the Lord, “when I will make a New Way of Worship for the Jews and those of the family group of Judah.

32 N o como el pacto que hice con sus padres el día que tomé su mano para sacarlos de la tierra de Egipto; porque ellos invalidaron mi pacto, y yo aunque fui el marido de ellos, dijo el SEÑOR:

The New Way of Worship will not be like the Old Way of Worship I gave to their early fathers. That was when I took them by the hand and led them out of Egypt. But they did not follow the Old Way of Worship, even when I was a husband to them,” says the Lord.

33 M as éste es el Pacto que haré con la Casa de Israel después de aquellos días, dijo el SEÑOR: Daré mi ley en sus almas, y la escribiré en su corazón; y seré yo a ellos por Dios, y ellos me serán por pueblo.

“This is the New Way of Worship that I will give to the Jews. When that day comes,” says the Lord, “I will put My Law into their minds. And I will write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people.

34 Y no enseñará más ninguno a su prójimo, ni ninguno a su hermano, diciendo: Conoced al SEÑOR: porque todos me conocerán, desde el más pequeño de ellos hasta el más grande, dijo el SEÑOR; porque perdonaré su iniquidad, y no me acordaré más de su pecado.

No one will need to teach his neighbor or his brother to know the Lord. All of them will already know Me from the least to the greatest,” says the Lord. “I will forgive their sins. I will remember their sins no more.”

35 A sí dijo el SEÑOR, que da el sol para luz del día, las leyes de la luna y de las estrellas para luz de la noche; que parte el mar y sus ondas braman; el SEÑOR de los ejércitos es su Nombre:

The Lord, the Lord of All is His name, Who gives the sun for light during the day, and put the moon and the stars in place to give light during the night, Who causes the waves of the sea to make a loud noise, says,

36 S i estas leyes faltaren delante de mí, dijo el SEÑOR, también la simiente de Israel faltará para no ser nación delante de mí todos los días.

“If these laws change before Me, then the children of Israel will stop being a nation before Me forever.”

37 A sí dijo el SEÑOR: Si los cielos arriba se pueden medir, y buscarse abajo los fundamentos de la tierra, también yo desecharé toda la simiente de Israel por todo lo que hicieron, dijo el SEÑOR.

The Lord says, “If one can find out how wide the heavens are, and look through the deepest places of the earth, then I will send all the children of Israel away from Me for all that they have done,” says the Lord.

38 H e aquí que vienen días, dijo el SEÑOR, y la ciudad será edificada al SEÑOR, desde la torre de Hananeel hasta la puerta del rincón.

“See, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “when the city will be built again for the Lord from the tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate.

39 Y saldrá más adelante el cordel de la medida delante de él sobre el collado de Gareb, y cercará a Goa.

And its wall will go out farther, straight on to the hill of Gareb. Then it will turn to Goah.

40 Y todo el valle de los cuerpos muertos y de la ceniza con la grosura quemada, y todas las llanuras hasta el arroyo de Cedrón, hasta la esquina de la puerta de los caballos al oriente, será Santo al SEÑOR; no será arrancada, ni destruida más para siempre.

The whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the river Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, will be holy to the Lord. It will never again be pulled up by the roots or destroyed.”
