1 Y cuando Salomón hubo acabado la obra de la Casa del SEÑOR, y la casa real, y todo lo que Salomón quiso hacer,

Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord, and the king’s house, and all that he wanted to build.

2 e l SEÑOR se le apareció a Salomón la segunda vez, como se le había aparecido en Gabaón.

Then the Lord came to Solomon a second time, as He had come to him at Gibeon.

3 Y le dijo el SEÑOR: Yo he oído tu oración y tu ruego, que has hecho en mi presencia. Yo he santificado esta Casa que tú has edificado, para poner mi nombre en ella para siempre; y en ella estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días.

The Lord said to him, “I have heard your prayer which you have prayed to Me. I have set apart this house you have built by putting My name there forever. My eyes and My heart will be there always.

4 Y si tú anduvieres delante de mí, como anduvo David tu padre, en integridad de corazón y en rectitud, haciendo todas las cosas que yo te he mandado, y guardando mis estatutos y mis derechos,

As for you, walk before Me as your father David walked, with a true heart doing what is right. Do all that I have told you. Obey My Laws. If you do,

5 y o afirmaré el trono de tu reino sobre Israel para siempre, como hablé a David tu padre, diciendo: No faltará de ti varón en el trono de Israel.

then I will make the throne of your rule over Israel last forever. It will be just as I promised your father David, saying, ‘You will never be without a man on the throne of Israel.’

6 M as si obstinadamente os apartareis de mí vosotros y vuestros hijos, y no guardareis mis mandamientos y mis estatutos que yo he dado delante de vosotros, sino que fuéreis y sirviéreis a dioses ajenos, y los adoráreis;

But if you or your sons turn away from following Me, and do not keep My Laws which I have given you, and go after other gods and worship them, if you do,

7 y o cortaré a Israel de sobre la faz de la tierra que les he entregado; y esta Casa que he santificado a mi nombre, yo la echaré de delante de mí, e Israel será por proverbio y fábula a todos los pueblos;

then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them. And I will put away from My eyes the house which I have set apart for My name. Israel will become a word of shame among all peoples.

8 y a esta Casa que estaba en estima, cualquiera que pasare por ella se pasmará, y silbará, y dirá: ¿Por qué ha hecho así el SEÑOR a esta tierra, y a esta Casa?

This house will be broken to pieces. Everyone who passes by will be surprised and make a sound of wonder, and say, ‘Why has the Lord done this to this land and to this house?’

9 Y dirán: Por cuanto dejaron al SEÑOR su Dios, que había sacado a sus padres de tierra de Egipto, y echaron mano a los dioses ajenos, y los adoraron, y los sirvieron; por eso ha traído el SEÑOR sobre ellos todo este mal.

And they will say, ‘Because they turned away from the Lord their God, Who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt. They took in other gods and worshiped them and served them. So the Lord has brought all this trouble upon them.’” Solomon and Hiram

10 ¶ Y aconteció al cabo de los veinte años, que Salomón había edificado las dos casas, la Casa del SEÑOR y la casa real

At the end of twenty years, Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king’s house.

11 ( para las cuales Hiram rey de Tiro, había traído a Salomón madera de cedro y de haya, y cuanto oro él quiso), que el rey Salomón dio a Hiram veinte ciudades en tierra de Galilea.

Hiram king of Tyre had given Solomon all the cedar and cypress trees and gold that he wanted. Then King Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

12 Y salió Hiram de Tiro para ver las ciudades que Salomón le había dado, y no le gustaron.

But when Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities Solomon had given him, they did not please him.

13 Y dijo: ¿Qué ciudades son éstas que me has dado, hermano? Y les puso por nombre, la tierra de Cabul, hasta hoy.

He said, “What are these cities you have given me, my brother?” So they are called the land of Cabul to this day.

14 E Hiram había enviado al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro.

The gold Hiram sent to the king weighed as much as 120 men. Other Things Solomon Did

15 Y ésta es la cuenta del tributo que el rey Salomón impuso para edificar la Casa del SEÑOR, y su casa, y a Milo, y el muro de Jerusalén, y a Hazor, Meguido, y Gezer.

Now King Solomon made men work to build the house of the Lord, his own house, the Millo, the wall of Jerusalem, Hazor, Meggido and Gezer.

16 ¶ Faraón el rey de Egipto había subido y tomado a Gezer, y la quemó, y mató a los cananeos que habitaban la ciudad, y la había dado en don a su hija la mujer de Salomón.

For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and taken Gezer and burned it with fire. He killed the Canaanites who lived in the city, and then gave it as a wedding-gift to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.

17 R estauró pues Salomón a Gezer, y a la Bet-horón de abajo,

So Solomon built Gezer again, and the lower part of Beth-horon,

18 a Baalat, y a Tadmor en tierra del desierto;

and Baalath and Tamar in the desert, in the land of Judah.

19 a simismo todas las ciudades donde Salomón tenía municiones, y las ciudades de los carros, y las ciudades de la gente de a caballo, y todo lo que Salomón deseó edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano, y en toda la tierra de su señorío.

Solomon built all the store-cities that he had, the cities for his war-wagons, the cities for his horsemen, and all he wanted to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land under his rule.

20 A todos los pueblos que quedaron de los amorreos, heteos, ferezeos, heveos, jebuseos, que no fueron de los hijos de Israel;

Now there were people left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, who were not of the people of Israel.

21 a sus hijos que quedaron en la tierra después de ellos, que los hijos de Israel no pudieron acabar, hizo Salomón que sirvieran con tributo hasta hoy.

And their children were left after them in the land. The people of Israel were not able to destroy all of them. So Solomon made these people work for him, even to this day.

22 M as a ninguno de los hijos de Israel impuso Salomón servicio, sino que eran hombres de guerra, o sus criados, o sus príncipes, o sus capitanes, o príncipes de sus carros, o su gente de a caballo.

But Solomon did not make the people of Israel work for him. For they were men of war, his servants, his rulers, his captains, his war-wagon drivers, and his horsemen.

23 Y los que Salomón había hecho príncipes y prepósitos sobre las obras de Salomón, eran quinientos cincuenta, los cuales estaban sobre el pueblo que trabajaba en aquella obra.

These were the heads of the captains over Solomon’s work. There were 550 of them who ruled over the people doing the work.

24 Y subió la hija de Faraón de la ciudad de David a su casa que Salomón le había edificado; entonces edificó él a Milo.

But Pharaoh’s daughter went up from the city of David to her own house which Solomon had built for her. Then he built the Millo.

25 Y ofrecía Salomón tres veces cada año holocaustos y pacíficos sobre el altar que él edificó al SEÑOR, y quemaba incienso sobre el que estaba delante del SEÑOR, después que la Casa fue acabada.

Three times a year Solomon gave burnt gifts and peace gifts on the altar he built to the Lord. He burned special perfume on the altar before the Lord. So he finished the house.

26 ¶ Hizo también el rey Salomón navíos en Ezión-geber, que es junto a Elot en la ribera del mar Bermejo, en la tierra de Edom.

King Solomon built a group of ships in Ezion-geber, near Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

27 Y envió Hiram en ellos a sus siervos, marineros y diestros en el mar, con los siervos de Salomón;

Hiram sent his servants with the ships, sailors who knew the sea. He sent them with the servants of Solomon.

28 l os cuales fueron a Ofir, y tomaron de allí oro, cuatrocientos veinte talentos, y lo trajeron al rey Salomón.

They went to Ophir and brought out gold weighing as much as 420 small men. And they brought it to King Solomon.
