1 A nd it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon's reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of Jehovah.

І сталося, року чотирисотого й вісімдесятого по виході Ізраїлевих синів з єгипетського краю, четвертого року Соломонового царювання над Ізраїлем, місяця зіва, почав він будувати той храм для Господа.

2 A nd the house that king Solomon built for Jehovah was sixty cubits in length, and twenty in breadth, and thirty cubits in height.

А той храм, що цар Соломон збудував для Господа, шістдесят ліктів довжина його, а двадцять ширина його, а тридцять ліктів вишина його.

3 A nd the porch, in front of the temple of the house, was twenty cubits in length, in front of the house broadways, ten cubits was its breadth, in front of the house.

А притвор перед храмом цього дому двадцять ліктів довжина його, відповідно широкости храму, десять ліктів ширина його перед храмом.

4 A nd for the house he made closed windows with fixed lattices.

І зробив він для храму прозорі вікна, широкі знадвору й вузькі всередині.

5 A nd against the wall of the house he built floors round about, the walls of the house, round about the temple and the oracle; and he made side-chambers round about.

А до стіни храму збудував він прибудівку навколо, зо стінами дому навколо храму та найсвятішого, і поробив бічні кімнати навколо.

6 T he lowest floor was five cubits broad, and the middle one was six cubits broad, and the third was seven cubits broad; for in the the house he made resets round about outside, that nothing should be fastened in the walls of the house.

Долішня прибудівка ширина її п'ять ліктів, а середня шість ліктів ширина її, а третя сім ліктів ширина її, бо він дав навколо храму знадвору виступи, щоб не тримати їх у стінах храму.

7 A nd the house, when it was being built, was built of stone entirely made ready before it was brought thither; so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house while it was being built.

А храм, коли був будований, будувався з викінченого каменя з каменоломні, а молотки та сокира, всяке залізне знаряддя не було чуте в храмі, коли його будували.

8 T he entrance to the side-chambers of the middle was in the right side of the house; and they went up by winding stairs into the middle, and out of the middle into the third.

Вхід до середньої бічної кімнати був з правого боку храму, а крученими сходами входили до середньої, а з середньої до третьої.

9 A nd he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.

І збудував він той храм та й покінчив його. І покрив він храм дошками та брусками кедрових дерев.

10 A nd he built the floors against all the house, five cubits high; and they held to the house by the timbers of cedar.

І збудував він прибудівку на ввесь храм, п'ять ліктів вишина її, і вона трималася храму кедровими деревинами.

11 A nd the word of Jehovah came to Solomon saying,

І було Господнє слово до Соломона, говорячи:

12 A s to this house which thou art building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and practise mine ordinances, and keep all my commandments to walk in them, then will I perform my word as to thee which I spoke unto David thy father;

Цей храм, що ти будуєш, якщо ти ходитимеш Моїми уставами й постанови Мої будеш виконувати, і будеш дотримувати всі Мої заповіді, щоб ними ходити, то Я виповню на тобі Своє слово, яке Я говорив був батькові твоєму Давидові.

13 a nd I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.

І пробуватиму посеред Ізраїлевих синів, і не покину Свого Ізраїлевого народу.

14 A nd Solomon built the house and finished it.

І збудував Соломон той храм та й скінчив його.

15 A nd he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, from the floor of the house to the walls of the roof; he overlaid on the inside with wood, and overlaid the floor of the house with boards of cypress.

І побудував він стіни храму зсередини з кедрових дощок, від підлоги храму аж до стін стропу покрив усередині деревом, а підлогу храму покрив кипарисовими дошками.

16 A nd he built twenty cubits of the innermost part of the house, both floor and walls, with boards of cedar; and he built for it within, to the oracle, the most holy place.

І збудував тих двадцять ліктів стіни з-заду храму з кедрових дощок, від підлоги аж до стін стропу, і це збудував йому зсередини за девіра, за Святеє Святих.

17 A nd the house, that is, the temple before it, was forty cubits.

А той храм був на сорок ліктів, він той, що перед девіром.

18 A nd the cedar of the house within was carved with colocynths and half-open flowers: all was cedar; there was no stone seen.

А на кедрині всередині храму була різьба огірків та відкритих квітів. Усе кедрина, камінь був невидний.

19 A nd he prepared the oracle in the midst of the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of Jehovah.

А найсвятіше він приготовив усередині храму, щоб дати туди ковчега Господнього заповіту.

20 A nd the oracle within was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof; and he overlaid it with pure gold; and he overlaid the cedar-wood altar—

А середина найсвятішого двадцять ліктів довжина, і двадцять ліктів ширина, і двадцять ліктів вишина його, і він покрив його щирим золотом, і також покрив кедрового жертівника.

21 a nd Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold, and shut off the oracle in front with chains of gold, and overlaid it with gold.

І Соломон покрив той храм зсередини щирим золотом, а перед найсвятішим перетягнув золотими ланцюгами, та покрив його золотом.

22 A nd the whole house he overlaid with gold, the whole house entirely; also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold.

І ввесь храм він покрив золотом аж до кінця всього храму і всього жертівника, що при найсвятішому, покрив золотом.

23 A nd he made in the oracle two cherubim of olive-wood, ten cubits high;

І зробив у найсвятішому двох херувимів з оливкового дерева, десять ліктів вишина його.

24 a nd one wing of the cherub was five cubits, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub, ten cubits from the end of one wing to the end of the other wing;

І п'ять ліктів одне крило херувима, і п'ять ліктів друге крило херувима; десять ліктів від кінця одного його крила і аж до кінця другого його крила.

25 a nd the other cherub was ten cubits: both the cherubim were of one measure and one form.

І десять ліктів був і другий херувим, одна міра й один вид обом херувимам.

26 T he height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so of the other cherub.

Височина одного херувима десять ліктів, і так і другого херувима.

27 A nd he set the cherubim in the midst of the inner house; and the wings of the cherubim were stretched forth, so that the wing of the one touched the wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched, wing to wing, in the midst of the house.

І дав він тих херувимів усередині внутрішнього храму. І херувими простягали свої крила, і торкалося крило одного однієї стіни, а крило другого херувима торкалося другої стіни. А їхні внутрішні крила дотикалися крило до крила.

28 A nd he overlaid the cherubim with gold.

І він покрив херувимів золотом.

29 A nd he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved sculptures of cherubim, and palm-trees, and half-open flowers, within and without.

А всі стіни храму навколо приоздобив ритими різьбами херувимів і пальм та розкритих квітів, зсередини та від зовнішньої частини.

30 A nd the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.

А підлогу храму він покрив золотом для внутрішньої та для зовнішньої частини.

31 A nd for the entrance of the oracle he made doors of olive-wood: the lintel side posts were the fifth part.

А на вхід до найсвятішого зробив двері з оливкового дерева; стовп, бічні одвірки п'ятикутні.

32 T he two doors were of olive-wood; and he carved on them carvings of cherubim, and palm-trees and half-open flowers, and overlaid them with gold, and spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm-trees.

І двоє дверей були з оливкового дерева, і на них були пороблені різьби херувимів і пальм та розкритих квітів, і покрив золотом; і обклав золотом тих херувимів та ті пальми.

33 A nd he also made for the doorway of the temple posts of olive-wood, of the fourth part.

І так поробив і одвірки для входу до храму, з оливкового дерева, одвірки чотирикутні.

34 A nd the two folding-doors were of cypress-wood: the two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.

А двоє дверей були з кипарисового дерева. Дві частині одних дверей та дві частині других дверей були рухомі.

35 A nd he carved on them cherubim, and palm-trees, and half-open flowers; and overlaid them with gold fitted on the carved work.

І повирізував на них херувимів і пальми та розкриті квіти, і покрив золотом, викутим по різьбі.

36 A nd he built the inner court of three rows of hewn stone, and a row of cedar-beams.

І збудував він унутрішній двір, три ряди тесаного каменя та ряд стятого кедрового брусся.

37 I n the fourth year was the foundation of the house of Jehovah laid, in the month Zif;

Року четвертого був заложений храм Господній, у місяці зів,

38 a nd in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which is the eighth month, was the house finished in all its parts, and according to all the fashion of it. So he was seven years in building it.

а року одинадцятого, у місяці бул, він місяць восьмий був закінчений той храм зо всіма речами його та за всіма планами його. І він будував його сім років.
