1 Ó Senhor, não me repreendas na tua ira, nem me castigues no teu furor.

O Jehovah, rebuke me not in thy wrath; Neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

2 P orque as tuas flechas se cravaram em mim, e sobre mim a tua mão pesou.

For thine arrows stick fast in me, And thy hand presseth me sore.

3 N ão há coisa sã na minha carne, por causa da tua cólera; nem há saúde nos meus ossos, por causa do meu pecado.

There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine indignation; Neither is there any health in my bones because of my sin.

4 P ois já as minhas iniqüidades submergem a minha cabeça; como carga pesada excedem as minhas forças.

For mine iniquities are gone over my head: As a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

5 A s minhas chagas se tornam fétidas e purulentas, por causa da minha loucura.

My wounds are loathsome and corrupt, Because of my foolishness.

6 E stou encurvado, estou muito abatido, ando lamentando o dia todo.

I am pained and bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.

7 P ois os meus lombos estão cheios de ardor, e não há coisa sã na minha carne.

For my loins are filled with burning; And there is no soundness in my flesh.

8 E stou gasto e muito esmagado; dou rugidos por causa do desassossego do meu coração.

I am faint and sore bruised: I have groaned by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

9 S enhor, diante de ti está todo o meu desejo, e o meu suspirar não te é oculto.

Lord, all my desire is before thee; And my groaning is not hid from thee.

10 O meu coração está agitado; a minha força me falta; quanto ã luz dos meus olhos, até essa me deixou.

My heart throbbeth, my strength faileth me: As for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.

11 O s meus amigos e os meus companheiros afastaram-se da minha chaga; e os meus parentes se põem ã distância.

My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my plague; And my kinsmen stand afar off.

12 T ambém os que buscam a minha vida me armam laços, e os que procuram o meu mal dizem coisas perniciosas,

They also that seek after my life lay snares for me; And they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, And meditate deceits all the day long.

13 M as eu, como um surdo, não ouço; e sou qual um mudo que não abre a boca.

But I, as a deaf man, hear not; And I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.

14 A ssim eu sou como homem que não ouve, e em cuja boca há com que replicar.

Yea, I am as a man that heareth not, And in whose mouth are no reproofs.

15 M as por ti, Senhor, espero; tu, Senhor meu Deus, responderás.

For in thee, O Jehovah, do I hope: Thou wilt answer, O Lord my God.

16 R ogo, pois: Ouve-me, para que eles não se regozijem sobre mim e não se engrandeçam contra mim quando resvala o meu pé.

For I said, Lest they rejoice over me: When my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.

17 P ois estou prestes a tropeçar; a minha dor está sempre comigo.

For I am ready to fall, And my sorrow is continually before me.

18 C onfesso a minha iniqüidade; entristeço-me por causa do meu pecado.

For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

19 M as os meus inimigos são cheios de vida e são fortes, e muitos são os que sem causa me odeiam.

But mine enemies are lively, and are strong; And they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.

20 O s que tornam o mal pelo bem são meus adversários, porque eu sigo o que é bom.

They also that render evil for good Are adversaries unto me, because I follow the thing that is good.

21 N ão me desampares, ó Senhor; Deus meu, não te alongues de mim.

Forsake me not, O Jehovah: O my God, be not far from me.

22 A pressa-te em meu auxílio, Senhor, minha salvação.

Make haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation.
