1 D as profundezas clamo a ti, ó Senhor.

Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Jehovah.

2 S enhor, escuta a minha voz; estejam os teus ouvidos atentos ã voz das minhas súplicas.

Lord, hear my voice: Let thine ears be attentive To the voice of my supplications.

3 S e tu, Senhor, observares as iniqüidades, Senhor, quem subsistirá?

If thou, Jehovah, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?

4 M as contigo está o perdão, para que sejas temido.

But there is forgiveness with thee, That thou mayest be feared.

5 A guardo ao Senhor; a minha alma o aguarda, e espero na sua palavra.

I wait for Jehovah, my soul doth wait, And in his word do I hope.

6 A minha alma anseia pelo Senhor, mais do que os guardas pelo romper da manhã, sim, mais do que os guardas pela manhã.

My soul waiteth for the Lord More than watchmen wait for the morning; Yea, more than watchmen for the morning.

7 E spera, ó Israel, no Senhor! pois com o Senhor há benignidade, e com ele há copiosa redenção;

O Israel, hope in Jehovah; For with Jehovah there is lovingkindness, And with him is plenteous redemption.

8 e ele remirá a Israel de todas as suas iniqüidades.

And he will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
