1 B om é render graças ao Senhor, e cantar louvores ao teu nome, ó Altíssimo,

It is a good thing to give thanks unto Jehovah, And to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High;

2 a nunciar de manhã a tua benignidade, e ã noite a tua fidelidade,

To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, And thy faithfulness every night,

3 s obre um instrumento de dez cordas, e sobre o saltério, ao som solene da harpa.

With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery; With a solemn sound upon the harp.

4 P ois me alegraste, Senhor, pelos teus feitos; exultarei nas obras das tuas mãos.

For thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.

5 Q uão grandes são, ó Senhor, as tuas obras! quão profundos são os teus pensamentos!

How great are thy works, O Jehovah! Thy thoughts are very deep.

6 O homem néscio não sabe, nem o insensato entende isto:

A brutish man knoweth not; Neither doth a fool understand this:

7 q uando os ímpios brotam como a erva, e florescem todos os que praticam a iniqüidade, é para serem destruídos para sempre.

When the wicked spring as the grass, And when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; It is that they shall be destroyed for ever.

8 M as tu, Senhor, estás nas alturas para sempre.

But thou, O Jehovah, art on high for evermore.

9 P ois eis que os teus inimigos, Senhor, eis que os teus inimigos perecerão; serão dispersos todos os que praticam a iniqüidade.

For, lo, thine enemies, O Jehovah, For, lo, thine enemies shall perish; All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 M as tens exaltado o meu poder, como o do boi selvagem; fui ungido com óleo fresco.

But my horn hast thou exalted like the horn of the wild-ox: I am anointed with fresh oil.

11 O s meus olhos já viram o que é feito dos que me espreitam, e os meus ouvidos já ouviram o que sucedeu aos malfeitores que se levantam contra mim.

Mine eye also hath seen my desire on mine enemies, Mine ears have heard my desire of the evil-doers that rise up against me.

12 O s justos florescerão como a palmeira, crescerão como o cedro no Líbano.

The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree: He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 E stão plantados na casa do Senhor, florescerão nos átrios do nosso Deus.

They are planted in the house of Jehovah; They shall flourish in the courts of our God.

14 N a velhice ainda darão frutos, serão viçosos e florescentes,

They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and green:

15 p ara proclamarem que o Senhor é reto. Ele é a minha rocha, e nele não há injustiça.

To show that Jehovah is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
