1 Т огава Йов отговори:

Then Job responded,

2 Н аистина само вие сте хора и с вас ще умре мъдростта!

“Truly then you are the people, And with you wisdom will die!

3 Н о и аз имам разум, както и вие; не съм по-долен от вас; и такива работи - кой не ги знае?

“But I have intelligence as well as you; I am not inferior to you. And who does not know such things as these?

4 С танах за присмех на ближния си; човек, който призовава Бога и Той му отговаряше - праведният, непорочният човек стана за присмех!

“I am a joke to my friends, The one who called on God and He answered him; The just and blameless man is a joke.

5 Т ози, чиито крака са близо до подхлъзване, е като презрян светилник в мисълта на благополучния.

“ He who is at ease holds calamity in contempt, As prepared for those whose feet slip.

6 Ш атрите на разбойниците са в благоденствие и тези, които разгневяват Бога, са в безопасност; Бог докарва изобилие в ръцете им.

“The tents of the destroyers prosper, And those who provoke God are secure, Whom God brings into their power.

7 Н о попитай сега животните и те ще те научат, и въздушните птици - и ще ти кажат;

“But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you; And the birds of the heavens, and let them tell you.

8 и ли говорѝ на земята - и тя ще те научи, и морските риби ще ти изявят.

“Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you; And let the fish of the sea declare to you.

9 О т всички тези кой не разбира, че ръката на Господа е сторила това? -

“Who among all these does not know That the hand of the Lord has done this,

10 В Чиято ръка е душата на всичко живо и диханието на цялото човечество.

In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?

11 У хото не изпитва ли думите, както небцето вкусва ястието си?

“Does not the ear test words, As the palate tastes its food?

12 М ъдростта е у белокосите, казвате вие, и разумът - в дългия живот.

“Wisdom is with aged men, With long life is understanding. Job Speaks of the Power of God

13 А в Бога е мъдростта и силата: Той има разсъждение и разум.

“With Him are wisdom and might; To Him belong counsel and understanding.

14 Е то, Той събаря и не се съгражда вече; затваря човека и не му се отваря.

“Behold, He tears down, and it cannot be rebuilt; He imprisons a man, and there can be no release.

15 Е то, задържа водите и пресъхват; пуска ги пак и изравят земята.

“Behold, He restrains the waters, and they dry up; And He sends them out, and they inundate the earth.

16 В Него е силата и мъдростта; Негов е измаменият и измамникът.

“With Him are strength and sound wisdom, The misled and the misleader belong to Him.

17 З акарва съветниците ограбени и прави съдиите глупави.

“He makes counselors walk barefoot And makes fools of judges.

18 Р азпасва пояса на царете и опасва кръста им с въже.

“He loosens the bond of kings And binds their loins with a girdle.

19 З акарва първенците ограбени и поваля силните.

“He makes priests walk barefoot And overthrows the secure ones.

20 О тнема думата от ползващите се с доверие и взема ума на старейшините.

“He deprives the trusted ones of speech And takes away the discernment of the elders.

21 И злива презрение върху князете и отслабва силата на яките.

“He pours contempt on nobles And loosens the belt of the strong.

22 О ткрива дълбоки работи из тъмнината и изважда на светло мрачната сянка.

“He reveals mysteries from the darkness And brings the deep darkness into light.

23 У множава народите и ги погубва; разширява народите и ги стеснява.

“He makes the nations great, then destroys them; He enlarges the nations, then leads them away.

24 О тнема бодростта на началниците на земните жители и ги прави да се скитат по непроходна пустиня;

“He deprives of intelligence the chiefs of the earth’s people And makes them wander in a pathless waste.

25 о пипват в тъмнината без светлина и ги прави да залитат като пияни.

“They grope in darkness with no light, And He makes them stagger like a drunken man.
