1 В ъв втората година на Израелевия цар Йоас, Йоахазовия син, се възцари Амасия, син на Юдейския цар Йоас.

In the second year of Joash son of Joahaz king of Israel, Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah became king.

2 Т ой беше на възраст двадесет и пет години, когато се възцари, и царува̀ двадесет и девет години в Йерусалим. Името на майка му беше Йоадана от Йерусалим.

He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jehoaddin of Jerusalem.

3 Т ой вършѝ това, което беше праведно пред Господа, но не като баща си Давид; той постъпваше, съвсем както беше постъпвал баща му Йоас.

He did right in the sight of the Lord, yet not like David his father; he did according to all that Joash his father had done.

4 О баче високите места не бяха премахнати; народът жертваше и кадеше по високите места.

Only the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

5 И щом царството се закрепи в ръката му, Амасия умъртви слугите си, които бяха убили баща му, царя.

Now it came about, as soon as the kingdom was firmly in his hand, that he killed his servants who had slain the king his father.

6 Н о синовете на убийците не умъртви според писаното в книгата на Моисеевия закон, където Господ заповядва: Бащите да не се умъртвяват заради синовете, нито синовете да се умъртвяват заради бащите, а всеки да се умъртвява за собствения му грях.

But the sons of the slayers he did not put to death, according to what is written in the book of the Law of Moses, as the Lord commanded, saying, “ The fathers shall not be put to death for the sons, nor the sons be put to death for the fathers; but each shall be put to death for his own sin.”

7 Т ой изби десет души от Едом в долината на солта и като превзе град Села с бой, го нарече Йоктеил, както се казва и до днес.

He killed of Edom in the Valley of Salt 10, 000 and took Sela by war, and named it Joktheel to this day.

8 Т огава Амасия прати хора до Израелевия цар Йоас, син на Йоахаз, Ииуевия син, да кажат: Ела да се срещнем един друг в лице.

Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, “ Come, let us face each other.”

9 А Израелевият цар Йоас прати до Юдейския цар Амасия да кажат: Ливанският трън пратил до ливанския кедър да кажат: Дай дъщеря си на сина ми за жена. Но един звяр, който бил в Ливан, минал и стъпкал тръна.

Jehoash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “ The thorn bush which was in Lebanon sent to the cedar which was in Lebanon, saying, ‘Give your daughter to my son in marriage.’ But there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trampled the thorn bush.

10 Т и наистина порази Едом и сърцето ти се надигна; радвай се на славата си и си седи у дома; защо сега да си навредим, за да паднеш, ти и Юдея с тебе?

You have indeed defeated Edom, and your heart has become proud. Enjoy your glory and stay at home; for why should you provoke trouble so that you, even you, would fall, and Judah with you?”

11 Н о Амасия не послуша. И така, Израелевият цар Йоас отиде и се срещнаха един с друг в лице, той и Юдейският цар Амасия, във Ветсемес, който принадлежи на Юдея.

But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah faced each other at Beth-shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

12 И Юдея беше поразена пред Израел; и всеки побегна в шатъра си.

Judah was defeated by Israel, and they fled each to his tent.

13 И зраелевият цар Йоас хвана във Ветсемес Юдейския цар Амасия, син на Йоас, Охозиевия син; и дойде в Йерусалим и събори четиристотин лакти от Йерусалимската стена, от Ефремовата порта до портата на ъгъла.

Then Jehoash king of Israel captured Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Beth-shemesh, and came to Jerusalem and tore down the wall of Jerusalem from the Gate of Ephraim to the Corner Gate, 400 cubits.

14 И като взе всичкото злато и сребро и всички съдове, които се намираха в Господния дом и в съкровищата на царската къща, също и заложници, Йоас се върна в Самария.

He took all the gold and silver and all the utensils which were found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasuries of the king’s house, the hostages also, and returned to Samaria. Jeroboam II Succeeds Jehoash in Israel

15 ( А останалите дела, които извърши Йоас и подвизите му, и как воюва̀ с Юдейския цар Амасия, са записани в Книгата на летописите на Израелевите царе.

Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

16 И Йоас заспа с бащите си и беше погребан в Самария с Израелевите царе; и вместо него се възцари синът му Еровоам.)

So Jehoash slept with his fathers and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son became king in his place. Azariah (Uzziah) Succeeds Amaziah in Judah

17 С лед смъртта на Израелевия цар Йоас, Йоахазовия син, Юдейският цар Амасия, Йоасовият син, живя петнадесет години.

Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived fifteen years after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel.

18 А останалите дела на Амасия са записани в Книгата на летописите на Юдейските царе.

Now the rest of the acts of Amaziah, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?

19 И понеже направиха заговор против него в Йерусалим, той побегна в Лахис; но пратиха хора след него в Лахис и там го убиха.

They conspired against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish and killed him there.

20 Д окараха го на коне и беше погребан в Йерусалим с бащите си в Давидовия град.

Then they brought him on horses and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.

21 Т огава целият Юдейски народ взе Азария, който беше на възраст шестнадесет години, и го направиха цар на мястото на баща му Амасия.

All the people of Judah took Azariah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the place of his father Amaziah.

22 Т ой съгради Елат и го върна на Юдея, след като баща му, царят, заспа с бащите си. Царуване на израелския цар Еровоам

He built Elath and restored it to Judah after the king slept with his fathers.

23 В петнадесетата година на Юдейския цар Амасия, син на Йоас, в Самария се възцари Еровоам, син на Израелевия цар Йоас, и царува̀ четиридесет и една години.

In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah, Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel became king in Samaria, and reigned forty-one years.

24 Т ой вършѝ зло пред Господа; не се отказа от нито един от греховете на Еровоам, Наватовия син, с които предизвика Израел да греши.

He did evil in the sight of the Lord; he did not depart from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which he made Israel sin.

25 Т ой възстанови границата на Израел от прохода на Емат до полското море според словото, което Господ, Израелевият Бог, говорѝ чрез слугата Си Йона, Аматиевия син, пророка, който беше от Гетефер.

He restored the border of Israel from the entrance of Hamath as far as the Sea of the Arabah, according to the word of the Lord, the God of Israel, which He spoke through His servant Jonah the son of Amittai, the prophet, who was of Gath-hepher.

26 З ащото Господ видя, че притеснението на Израел беше много горчиво, понеже нямаше нито малолетен, нито пълнолетен, който да помогне на Израел.

For the Lord saw the affliction of Israel, which was very bitter; for there was neither bond nor free, nor was there any helper for Israel.

27 Г оспод не поиска да изличи под небето името на Израел, а го избави чрез ръката на Еровоам, Йоасовия син.

The Lord did not say that He would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, but He saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash. Zechariah Reigns over Israel

28 А останалите дела на Еровоам и всичко, което извърши, и подвизите му, как воюва̀ и как възвърна на Израел Дамаск и Емат, които бяха подчинени на Юдея, са записани в Книгата на летописите на Израелевите царе.

Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam and all that he did and his might, how he fought and how he recovered for Israel, Damascus and Hamath, which had belonged to Judah, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?

29 И Еровоам заспа с бащите си, Израелевите царе; и вместо него се възцари синът му Захария.

And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel, and Zechariah his son became king in his place.
