1 P raise ye Jehovah. Praise Jehovah, O my soul.

Louvai ao Senhor.Ó minha alma, louva ao Senhor.

2 W hile I live will I praise Jehovah: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

Louvarei ao Senhor durante a minha vida; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto viver.

3 P ut not your trust in princes, Nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

Não confieis em príncipes, nem em filho de homem, em quem não há auxílio.

4 H is breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; In that very day his thoughts perish.

Sai-lhe o espírito, e ele volta para a terra; naquele mesmo dia perecem os seus pensamentos.

5 H appy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in Jehovah his God:

Bem-aventurado aquele que tem o Deus de Jacó por seu auxílio, e cuja esperança está no Senhor seu Deus

6 W ho made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that in them is; Who keepeth truth for ever;

que fez os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo quanto neles há, e que guarda a verdade para sempre;

7 W ho executeth justice for the oppressed; Who giveth food to the hungry. Jehovah looseth the prisoners;

que faz justiça aos oprimidos, que dá pão aos famintos. O Senhor solta os encarcerados;

8 J ehovah openeth the eyes of the blind; Jehovah raiseth up them that are bowed down; Jehovah loveth the righteous;

o Senhor abre os olhos aos cegos; o Senhor levanta os abatidos; o Senhor ama os justos.

9 J ehovah preserveth the sojourners; He upholdeth the fatherless and widow; But the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.

O Senhor preserva os peregrinos; ampara o órfão e a viúva; mas transtorna o caminho dos ímpios.

10 J ehovah will reign for ever, Thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye Jehovah.

O Senhor reinará eternamente: o teu Deus, ó Sião, reinará por todas as gerações. Louvai ao Senhor!
