1 Î l iubesc pe Domnul, căci El ascultă glasul meu, cererile mele.

I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my supplications.

2 P entru că Şi-a plecat urechea spre mine, Îl voi chema în toate zilele mele.

Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live.

3 M ă înfăşuraseră legăturile morţii şi mă cuprinseseră sudorile Locuinţei Morţilor; eram copleşit de necaz şi de durere.

The cords and sorrows of death were around me, and the terrors of Sheol (the place of the dead) had laid hold of me; I suffered anguish and grief (trouble and sorrow).

4 D ar am chemat Numele Domnului, zicând: „ Doamne, Te rog, izbăveşte-mi sufletul!“

Then called I upon the name of the Lord: O Lord, I beseech You, save my life and deliver me!

5 D omnul este îndurător şi drept, Dumnezeul nostru este milostiv.

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yes, our God is merciful.

6 D omnul păzeşte pe cei neştiutori; eram nenorocit de tot, dar El m-a izbăvit.

The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He helped and saved me.

7 Î ntoarce-te, suflete al meu, la odihna ta, căci Domnul ţi-a făcut bine!

Return to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

8 D a, Tu mi-ai scăpat sufletul de la moarte, ochii – de lacrimi, şi picioarele – de poticnire,

For You have delivered my life from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling and falling.

9 a stfel că voi putea umbla înaintea Domnului pe pământul celor vii!

I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

10 A m crezut, chiar dacă am continuat să spun: „Sunt foarte nenorocit!“

I believed (trusted in, relied on, and clung to my God), and therefore have I spoken, I am greatly afflicted.

11 Î n neliniştea mea ziceam: „Orice om este mincinos!“

I said in my haste, All men are deceitful and liars.

12 D ar cum I-aş putea răsplăti Domnului toate binefacerile Lui faţă de mine?

What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me?

13 V oi ridica cupa izbăvirilor şi voi chema Numele Domnului.

I will lift up the cup of salvation and deliverance and call on the name of the Lord.

14 Î mi voi împlini jurămintele făcute Domnului înaintea poporului Său.

I will pay my vows to the Lord, yes, in the presence of all His people.

15 P reţioasă este în ochii Domnului moartea credincioşilor Săi.

Precious (important and no light matter) in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints (His loving ones).

16 D oamne, Te-am rugat, ca rob al Tău ce sunt, ca rob al Tău, fiu al slujitoarei Tale, şi Tu mi-ai desfăcut legăturile.

O Lord, truly I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your handmaid; You have loosed my bonds.

17 Î ţi voi aduce o jertfă de mulţumire şi voi chema mereu Numele Domnului.

I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving and will call on the name of the Lord.

18 Î mi voi împlini jurămintele făcute Domnului înaintea întregului Său popor,

I will pay my vows to the Lord, yes, in the presence of all His people,

19 î n curţile Casei Domnului, în mijlocul tău, Ierusalime! Lăudaţi-L pe Domnul!

In the courts of the Lord’s house—in the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)
