1 P ustia şi pămîntul uscat se vor bucura, deşertul se va veseli şi va înflori ca şofranul;

The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad; the desert shall rejoice and blossom like the rose and the autumn crocus.

2 v a da flori din belşug, se va bucura mult şi va striga de veselie. Gloria Libanului îi va fi dată, măreţia Carmelului şi a Şaronului; vor vedea slava Domnului şi măreţia Dumnezeului nostru.

It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the excellency of Carmel and of Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, the majesty and splendor and excellency of our God.

3 Î ntăriţi mâinile slabe şi genunchii care se clatină!

Strengthen the weak hands and make firm the feeble and tottering knees.

4 S puneţi celor cu inima speriată: «Fiţi tari! Nu vă temeţi! Dumnezeul vostru vine! El vine cu răzbunare şi cu răsplătire divină! El vine să vă mântuiască!»

Say to those who are of a fearful and hasty heart, Be strong, fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance; with the recompense of God He will come and save you.

5 A tunci ochii celui orb vor fi deschişi şi urechile celui surd vor fi destupate;

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

6 a tunci şchiopul va sări ca un cerb şi limba celui mut va striga de bucurie. Căci în pustie vor ţâşni ape, iar în deşert, izvoare.

Then shall the lame man leap like a hart, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing for joy. For waters shall break forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.

7 N isipul arzător va ajunge iaz, iar pământul însetat – izvoare de apă; iarbă, trestie şi papirus vor creşte acolo unde odată locuiau şacalii.

And the burning sand and the mirage shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; in the haunt of jackals, where they lay resting, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

8 A colo va fi un drum larg, o cale ce va fi numită «Calea Sfinţeniei». Cel necurat nu va călători pe ea, ci aceasta va fi doar pentru cei ce umblă pe Cale; nebunii nu vor ajunge pe ea.

And a highway shall be there, and a way; and it shall be called the Holy Way. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for the redeemed; the wayfaring men, yes, the simple ones and fools, shall not err in it and lose their way.

9 N ici un leu nu va fi acolo, nici o fiară sălbatică nu va veni pe ea; nici una din acestea nu vor fi întâlnite pe ea, ci numai cei răscumpăraţi vor umbla pe acolo.

No lion shall be there, nor shall any ravenous beast come up on it; they shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk on it.

10 R ăscumpăraţii Domnului se vor întoarce şi vor intra în Sion cu strigăte de bucurie. O bucurie veşnică le va încununa capetele; bucuria şi veselia îi vor copleşi, iar necazul şi suspinul vor fugi de la ei.“

And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing, and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
