1 C uvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

The word of the Lord came again to me, saying,

2 „ Fiul omului, spune-i prinţului Tirului că aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Ţi s-a îngâmfat inima şi ai zis: ‘Sunt zeu! Stau pe tronul zeilor în inima mărilor!’ Deşi crezi că eşti asemenea zeilor, tu eşti de fapt doar un om, nu eşti un zeu.

Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord God: Because your heart is lifted up and you have said and thought, I am a god, I sit in the seat of the gods, in the heart of the seas; yet you are only man and not God, though you imagine yourself to be almost more than mortal with your mind as the mind of God;

3 I ată, te crezi mai înţelept decât Daniel şi crezi că nici o taină nu-ţi este ascunsă!

Indeed, you are wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that is hidden from you;

4 P rin înţelepciunea şi priceperea ta ţi-ai făcut avere şi ai adunat aur şi argint în vistieriile tale.

With your own wisdom and with your own understanding you have gotten you riches and power and have brought gold and silver into your treasuries;

5 P rin multa ta înţelepciune în ce priveşte negoţul ţi-ai înmulţit averea, dar din cauza averii tale ţi s-a îngâmfat inima.»

By your great wisdom and by your traffic you have increased your riches and power, and your heart is proud and lifted up because of your wealth;

6 D e aceea, aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Pentru că îţi asemeni gândirea cu gândirea lui Dumnezeu,

Therefore thus says the Lord God: Because you have imagined your mind as the mind of God,

7 i ată, aduc împotriva ta nişte străini, pe cele mai barbare dintre neamuri. Ele îşi vor scoate sabia împotriva minunatei tale înţelepciuni şi îţi vor pângări strălucirea.

Behold therefore, I am bringing strangers upon you, the most terrible of the nations, and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom, and they shall defile your splendor.

8 T e vor coborî în groapă şi vei muri de o moarte violentă în inima mărilor.

They shall bring you down to the pit and you shall die the deaths of all the Tyrians that are slain in the heart of the seas.

9 V ei mai zice tu atunci: ‘Sunt Dumnezeu!’, în faţa ucigaşului tău? Vei fi un biet om, nu Dumnezeu în mâna celor ce te vor străpunge!

Will you still say, I am a god, before him who slays you? But you are only a man and no god in the hand of him who wounds and profanes you.

10 V ei muri de moartea celor necircumcişi, ucis de mâna străinilor, căci Eu, Domnul, am vorbit, zice Stăpânul Domn. »“

You shall die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers, for I have spoken it, says the Lord God.

11 C uvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

Moreover, the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

12 „ Fiul omului, rosteşte o cântare de jale despre regele Tirului! Spune-i că aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Erai un semn al perfecţiunii, plin de înţelepciune şi desăvârşit în frumuseţe.

Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, Thus says the Lord God: You are the full measure and pattern of exactness, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

13 S tăteai în Eden, grădina lui Dumnezeu, şi erai acoperit cu tot felul de pietre preţioase: cu sard, topaz, diamant, crisolit, onix, jasp, safir, turcoaz şi smarald. Bijuteriile şi filigranele tale erau din aur, pregătite încă din ziua în care ai fost creat.

You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, the carnelian, topaz, jasper, chrysolite, beryl, onyx, sapphire, carbuncle, and emerald; and your settings and your sockets and engravings were wrought in gold. On the day that you were created they were prepared.

14 E rai un heruvim ocrotitor, cu aripile întinse; te-am pus să fii pe muntele cel sfânt al lui Dumnezeu şi umblai prin mijlocul pietrelor de foc.

You were the anointed cherub that covers with overshadowing, and I set you so. You were upon the holy mountain of God; you walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 A i fost fără vină în căile tale din ziua în care ai fost creat şi până când s-a găsit nedreptate în tine.

You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until iniquity and guilt were found in you.

16 P rin mărimea negoţului tău te-ai umplut de violenţă şi ai păcătuit. De aceea te-am aruncat de pe muntele lui Dumnezeu şi te-am îndepărtat, heruvim ocrotitor, din mijlocul pietrelor de foc.

Through the abundance of your commerce you were filled with lawlessness and violence, and you sinned; therefore I cast you out as a profane thing from the mountain of God and the guardian cherub drove you out from the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Ţ i s-a îngâmfat inima din pricina frumuseţii tale şi ţi-ai pervertit înţelepciunea din cauza splendorii tale! De aceea te-am aruncat la pământ şi te-am expus înaintea regilor, ca să fi o privelişte pentru ei!

Your heart was proud and lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I lay you before kings, that they might gaze at you.

18 P rin mulţimea nelegiuirilor tale şi a negoţului tău necinstit ţi-ai pângărit sanctuarele. De aceea am făcut să iasă un foc din mijlocul tău, care te-a mistuit, şi te-am făcut scrum pe pământ, înaintea tuturor celor ce te priveau.

You have profaned your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities and the enormity of your guilt, by the unrighteousness of your trade. Therefore I have brought forth a fire from your midst; it has consumed you, and I have reduced you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all who looked at you.

19 T oţi cei ce te cunosc dintre popoare sunt înmărmuriţi din pricina ta. Ai parte de un sfârşit îngrozitor şi nu vei mai exista niciodată!»“ Profeţie împotriva Sidonului

All who know you among the people are astonished and appalled at you; you have come to a horrible end and shall never return to being.

20 C uvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

21 „ Fiul omului, îndreaptă-ţi faţa spre Sidon şi profeţeşte împotriva lui.

Son of man, set your face toward Sidon and prophesy against her.

22 S pune-i că aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Iată, sunt împotriva ta, Sidoane, şi de aceea Mă voi slăvi în mijlocul tău! Şi vor şti că Eu sunt Domnul, când Îmi voi împlini judecăţile împotriva lui şi Îmi voi arăta sfinţenia în el.»

And say, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O Sidon, and I will show forth My glory and be glorified in the midst of you. And they shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord when I execute judgments and punishments in her, and am set apart and separated and My holiness is manifested in her.

23 V oi trimite molima în el şi vărsarea de sânge pe străzile lui. Cel înjunghiat va cădea în mijlocul lui, răpus de sabia care loveşte de jur împrejur. Şi vor şti astfel că Eu sunt Domnul.

For I will send pestilence into her and blood into her streets, and the wounded shall be judged and fall by the sword in the midst of her on every side, and they shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord.

24 A tunci, pentru cei din Casa lui Israel, nu va mai fi nici un spin care înţeapă şi nici un ghimpe care provoacă durere din partea tuturor vecinilor lor care-i dispreţuiesc. Şi vor şti astfel că Eu sunt Stăpânul Domn.

And there shall be no more a brier to prick the house of Israel or a hurting thorn of all those around them who have treated them with contempt, and they shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord God.

25 A şa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Când îi voi aduna pe cei din Casa lui Israel dintre popoarele unde au fost împrăştiaţi, Îmi voi arăta sfinţenia prin ei înaintea neamurilor şi ei vor locui în propria lor ţară, pe care am dat-o robului Meu, Iacov.

Thus says the Lord God: When I gather the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and I shall be set apart and separated and My holiness made apparent in them in the sight of the nations, then shall they dwell in their own land which I gave to My servant Jacob.

26 V or locui în siguranţă în ea, vor construi case şi vor sădi vii. Da, vor locui în siguranţă când Îmi voi împlini judecăţile împotriva tuturor vecinilor lor care-i dispreţuiesc. Şi vor şti astfel că Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul lor.»“

And they shall dwell safely in it and shall build houses and plant vineyards; yes, they shall dwell securely and with confidence when I have executed judgments and punishments upon all those round about them who have despised and trodden upon them and pushed them away, and they shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord their God.
