1 T hen Jacob went on his journey, and came to the land of the sons of the east.

Тогава Яков тръгна и отиде в земята на източните жители.

2 H e looked, and saw a well in the field, and behold, three flocks of sheep were lying there beside it, for from that well they watered the flocks. Now the stone on the mouth of the well was large.

И видя кладенец на полето и там три стада овце, които почиваха при него, защото от онзи кладенец напояваха стадата; и върху отвора на кладенеца имаше голям камък.

3 W hen all the flocks were gathered there, they would then roll the stone from the mouth of the well and water the sheep, and put the stone back in its place on the mouth of the well.

И когато се събираха там всички стада, отместваха камъка от отвора на кладенеца и напояваха стадата; после пак слагаха камъка на мястото му над отвора на кладенеца.

4 J acob said to them, “My brothers, where are you from?” And they said, “We are from Haran.”

Тогава Яков каза на овчарите: Братя, откъде сте? А те отвърнаха: От Харан сме.

5 H e said to them, “Do you know Laban the son of Nahor?” And they said, “We know him.”

Той ги попита: Познавате ли Лаван, Нахоровия син? Отговориха: Познаваме го.

6 A nd he said to them, “Is it well with him?” And they said, “It is well, and here is Rachel his daughter coming with the sheep.”

И им каза: Здрав ли е? А те отговориха: Здрав е; и, ето, дъщеря му Рахил идва с овцете.

7 H e said, “Behold, it is still high day; it is not time for the livestock to be gathered. Water the sheep, and go, pasture them.”

А той каза: Вижте, още е много рано, не е време да се прибира добитъкът; напоете овцете и идете да ги пасете.

8 B ut they said, “We cannot, until all the flocks are gathered, and they roll the stone from the mouth of the well; then we water the sheep.”

А те казаха: Не можем, докато не се съберат всички стада и не отместят камъка от отвора на кладенеца; тогава напояваме овцете.

9 W hile he was still speaking with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep, for she was a shepherdess.

Докато още им говореше, дойде Рахил с бащините си овце, защото тя ги пасеше.

10 W hen Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother’s brother, Jacob went up and rolled the stone from the mouth of the well and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother.

А Яков, като видя Рахил, дъщерята на вуйчо си Лаван, и овцете на вуйчо си Лаван, Яков се приближи и отмести камъка от отвора на кладенеца; и напои стадото на вуйчо си Лаван.

11 T hen Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted his voice and wept.

И Яков целуна Рахил и заплака с висок глас.

12 J acob told Rachel that he was a relative of her father and that he was Rebekah’s son, and she ran and told her father.

Яков каза на Рахил, че е племенник на баща ѝ и че е син на Ревека; а тя се затича да извести на баща си.

13 S o when Laban heard the news of Jacob his sister’s son, he ran to meet him, and embraced him and kissed him and brought him to his house. Then he related to Laban all these things.

А Лаван, като чу за своя племенник Яков, затича се да го посрещне; и го прегърна, целуна го и го заведе у дома си. Тогава Яков разказа на Лаван всичко.

14 L aban said to him, “Surely you are my bone and my flesh.” And he stayed with him a month.

Лаван му каза: Наистина ти си моя кост и моя плът. И Яков живя при него един месец. Женитбата на Яков в Харан с Лия и Рахил

15 T hen Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my relative, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what shall your wages be?”

След това Лаван каза на Яков: Ти си ми като брат, затова ще ми работиш ли безплатно? Кажи ми каква да ти бъде заплатата.

16 N ow Laban had two daughters; the name of the older was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.

А Лаван имаше две дъщери; името на по-старата беше Лия, а името на по-младата Рахил;

17 A nd Leah’s eyes were weak, but Rachel was beautiful of form and face.

на Лия очите не бяха здрави, а Рахил имаше хубава снага и хубаво лице.

18 N ow Jacob loved Rachel, so he said, “ I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel.”

И Яков, понеже обикна Рахил, каза: Ще ти работя седем години за по-малката ти дъщеря Рахил.

19 L aban said, “It is better that I give her to you than to give her to another man; stay with me.”

Лаван отговори: По-добре да я дам на теб, отколкото на друг мъж; живей при мен.

20 S o Jacob served seven years for Rachel and they seemed to him but a few days because of his love for her. Laban’s Treachery

И така, Яков работѝ за Рахил седем години; но поради любовта му към нея те му се видяха като няколко дни.

21 T hen Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife, for my time is completed, that I may go in to her.”

След това Яков каза на Лаван: Дай жена ми, защото дойде време да заживея с нея.

22 L aban gathered all the men of the place and made a feast.

И така, Лаван събра всички хора от това място и даде угощение.

23 N ow in the evening he took his daughter Leah, and brought her to him; and Jacob went in to her.

А вечерта взе дъщеря си Лия и му я доведе; и той влезе при нея.

24 L aban also gave his maid Zilpah to his daughter Leah as a maid.

И Лаван даде слугинята си Зелфа за слугиня на дъщеря си Лия.

25 S o it came about in the morning that, behold, it was Leah! And he said to Laban, “ What is this you have done to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served with you? Why then have you deceived me?”

Но на сутринта Яков разбра, че беше Лия. И каза на Лаван: Какво е това, което ми направи ти? Нали за Рахил ти работих? Тогава защо ме излъга?

26 B ut Laban said, “It is not the practice in our place to marry off the younger before the firstborn.

А Лаван отвърна: В нашето място няма обичай да се дава по-младата преди по-старата.

27 C omplete the week of this one, and we will give you the other also for the service which you shall serve with me for another seven years.”

Завършѝ сватбарската седмица с тази; и ще ти дам и онази за работата, която ще ми вършиш още седем години.

28 J acob did so and completed her week, and he gave him his daughter Rachel as his wife.

И Яков направи така; завърши седмицата с Лия и тогава Лаван му даде дъщеря си Рахил за жена.

29 L aban also gave his maid Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as her maid.

А Лаван даде слугинята си Вала за слугиня на дъщеря си Рахил.

30 S o Jacob went in to Rachel also, and indeed he loved Rachel more than Leah, and he served with Laban for another seven years.

И Яков заживя с Рахил и обикна Рахил повече от Лия; и работѝ на Лаван още седем години. Потомството на Яков

31 N ow the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, and He opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.

А Господ, понеже видя, че Лия не беше обичана, отвори утробата ѝ; а Рахил беше бездетна.

32 L eah conceived and bore a son and named him Reuben, for she said, “Because the Lord has seen my affliction; surely now my husband will love me.”

И така, Лия зачена и роди син, и го наименуваха Рувим, защото си казваше: Господ погледна на неволята ми; сега мъжът ми ще ме обикне.

33 T hen she conceived again and bore a son and said, “ Because the Lord has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also.” So she named him Simeon.

И пак зачена и роди син; и каза: Понеже Господ чу, че не съм любима, затова ми даде и този син; и го наименува Симеон.

34 S he conceived again and bore a son and said, “Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore he was named Levi.

Пак зачена и роди син; и каза: Сега вече мъжът ми ще се привърже към мене, защото му родих трима сина; затова го наименува Левий.

35 A nd she conceived again and bore a son and said, “This time I will praise the Lord.” Therefore she named him Judah. Then she stopped bearing.

И пак зачена и роди син; и каза: Този път ще възхваля Господа; затова го наименува Юда. И престана да ражда.
