1 N ow the two angels came to Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.

Привечер дойдоха двама ангела в Содом; а Лот седеше до Содомската порта. И като ги видя, Лот стана да ги посрещне, поклони се с лице до земята и каза:

2 A nd he said, “Now behold, my lords, please turn aside into your servant’s house, and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” They said however, “No, but we shall spend the night in the square.”

Ето, господари мои, свърнете, моля, в къщата на слугата си, пренощувайте и си умийте краката, и утре станете и си идете по пътя. А те отговориха: Не, на улицата ще пренощуваме.

3 Y et he urged them strongly, so they turned aside to him and entered his house; and he prepared a feast for them, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

Но като настояваше много, те се отбиха при него и влязоха в къщата му; и той им направи угощение и изпече безквасни хлябове; и ядоха.

4 B efore they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter;

А преди да си легнат, те, градските мъже, Содомските жители, млади и стари, целият народ, обиколиха къщата

5 a nd they called to Lot and said to him, “ Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them.”

и викаха на Лот: Къде са мъжете, които дойдоха при тебе тази нощ? Изведи ни ги да ги познаем.

6 B ut Lot went out to them at the doorway, and shut the door behind him,

А Лот излезе при тях пред вратата, затвори вратата зад себе си и каза:

7 a nd said, “Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly.

Моля ви се, братя мои, не правете такова нечестие.

8 N ow behold, I have two daughters who have not had relations with man; please let me bring them out to you, and do to them whatever you like; only do nothing to these men, inasmuch as they have come under the shelter of my roof.”

Вижте сега, имам две дъщери, които не са познали мъж; тях да ви изведа вън и направете с тях, каквото ви се вижда угодно; само на тези мъже не правете нищо, понеже затова са влезли под покрива на стряхата ми.

9 B ut they said, “Stand aside.” Furthermore, they said, “This one came in as an alien, and already he is acting like a judge; now we will treat you worse than them.” So they pressed hard against Lot and came near to break the door.

Но те извикаха: Махни се оттук. Казаха още: Той дойде тук самичък и е пришълец, а иска още и съдия да стане; ей сега на тебе ще направим по-голямо зло, отколкото на тях. И напираха силно срещу Лот и се приближиха да разбият вратата.

10 B ut the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.

Но мъжете посегнаха и издърпаха Лот при себе си в къщи, и затвориха вратата.

11 T hey struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves trying to find the doorway.

Също и поразиха със слепота хората, които бяха пред вратата на къщата - и малък, и голям, така че не можеха да намерят вратата.

12 T hen the two men said to Lot, “Whom else have you here? A son-in-law, and your sons, and your daughters, and whomever you have in the city, bring them out of the place;

Тогава мъжете казаха на Лот: Имаш ли тук друг някой: зет, синове, дъщери и които и да е било други, които живеят в града, изведи ги от това място;

13 f or we are about to destroy this place, because their outcry has become so great before the Lord that the Lord has sent us to destroy it.”

защото ние ще съсипем мястото, понеже се усили викът на злото им пред Господа и Той ни изпрати да го съсипем.

14 L ot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, and said, “Up, get out of this place, for the Lord will destroy the city.” But he appeared to his sons-in-law to be jesting.

И така, Лот излезе и говорѝ на зетьовете си, които щяха да водят дъщерите му, и каза: Станете, излезте от това място, защото Господ ще съсипе града. Но на зетьовете му се видя, че той се шегува.

15 W hen morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.”

Когато се зазори, ангелите настояваха пред Лот, като казваха: Стани и вземи жена си и двете си дъщери, които са тук, за да не погинеш сред наказанието на този град.

16 B ut he hesitated. So the men seized his hand and the hand of his wife and the hands of his two daughters, for the compassion of the Lord was upon him; and they brought him out, and put him outside the city.

Но той се бавеше; затова мъжете хванаха за ръка него, жена му и двете му дъщери, изведоха го и го поставиха вън от града; понеже Господ го съжали.

17 W hen they had brought them outside, one said, “ Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stay anywhere in the valley; escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away.”

И като ги изведоха вън, единият каза на Лот: Бягай за живота си; да не погледнеш назад, нито да се спреш някъде в цялата тази равнина; бягай на планината, за да не погинеш.

18 B ut Lot said to them, “Oh no, my lords!

А Лот им каза: Ах, Господи, не така!

19 N ow behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your lovingkindness, which you have shown me by saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountains, for the disaster will overtake me and I will die;

Ето, слугата ти придоби Твоето благоволение и с опазването на живота ми Ти правиш още по-голяма милостта, която си показал към мене; но аз не мога да побегна до планината, да не би да ме постигне злото и да умра.

20 n ow behold, this town is near enough to flee to, and it is small. Please, let me escape there (is it not small?) that my life may be saved.”

Гледай, моля, този град е близо, за да прибегна там; и е малък. Нека побегна там (не е ли малък град ?) и така животът ми ще се опази.

21 H e said to him, “Behold, I grant you this request also, not to overthrow the town of which you have spoken.

Той му каза: Ето, слушам те и за това нещо, че няма да разоря града, за който ти говорѝ.

22 H urry, escape there, for I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the town was called Zoar.

Бързай, бягай там, защото Аз не мога да сторя нищо, докато ти не стигнеш там. Затова този град бе наречен Сигор.

23 T he sun had risen over the earth when Lot came to Zoar.

Слънцето изгряваше над земята, когато Лот влезе в Сигор.

24 T hen the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven,

Тогава Господ изля върху Содом и Гомор сяра и огън от Господа от небето.

25 a nd He overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.

Той съсипа тези градове и цялата равнина, всичките жители на градовете и земните растения.

26 B ut his wife, from behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

Но жена му на Лот, след него, погледна назад и се превърна в стълб от сол.

27 N ow Abraham arose early in the morning and went to the place where he had stood before the Lord;

Сутринта Авраам подрани на мястото, където беше стоял пред Господа;

28 a nd he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the valley, and he saw, and behold, the smoke of the land ascended like the smoke of a furnace.

и погледна към Содом и Гомор и към цялата земя на равнината, и, ето, видя, че дим, като дим от пещ, се издигаше от земята.

29 T hus it came about, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot lived. Lot Is Debased

И така, когато Бог унищожаваше градовете на тази равнина, Той си спомни за Авраам и изпрати Лот изсред развалините на градовете, където живееше Лот. Произход на моавците и амонците

30 L ot went up from Zoar, and stayed in the mountains, and his two daughters with him; for he was afraid to stay in Zoar; and he stayed in a cave, he and his two daughters.

А Лот излезе от Сигор и живееше в планината, и с него двете му дъщери, понеже се боеше да остане в Сигор; затова живееше в една пещера, той и двете му дъщери.

31 T hen the firstborn said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is not a man on earth to come in to us after the manner of the earth.

Тогава по-старата каза на по-младата: Баща ни е стар и няма мъж на земята да влезе при нас, според обичая на цялата земя.

32 C ome, let us make our father drink wine, and let us lie with him that we may preserve our family through our father.”

Ела, да упоим баща си с вино и да преспим с него, за да запазим потомството от баща си.

33 S o they made their father drink wine that night, and the firstborn went in and lay with her father; and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.

И така, онази нощ упоиха баща си с вино; и по-старата влезе и преспа с баща си; а той не усети нито кога легна тя, нито кога излезе.

34 O n the following day, the firstborn said to the younger, “Behold, I lay last night with my father; let us make him drink wine tonight also; then you go in and lie with him, that we may preserve our family through our father.”

На другия ден по-старата каза на по-младата: Виж, миналата нощ аз преспах с баща си; да го упоим с вино и тази нощ и влез ти, и преспи с него, за да запазим потомството от баща си.

35 S o they made their father drink wine that night also, and the younger arose and lay with him; and he did not know when she lay down or when she arose.

И така, и онази нощ упоиха баща си с вино и по-младата влезе, и преспа с него; а той не усети нито кога легна тя, нито кога стана.

36 T hus both the daughters of Lot were with child by their father.

Така и двете Лотови дъщери заченаха от баща си.

37 T he firstborn bore a son, and called his name Moab; he is the father of the Moabites to this day.

И по-старата роди син и го наименува Моав; той е и до днес баща на моавците.

38 A s for the younger, she also bore a son, and called his name Ben-ammi; he is the father of the sons of Ammon to this day.

По-младата също роди син и го наименува Бен-ами; той е и до днес баща на амонците.
