1 N ebuchadnezzar the king to all the peoples, nations, and men of every language that live in all the earth: “May your peace abound!

Цар Навуходоносор - към всички племена, народи и езици, които живеят по цял свят: Мир да ви се умножи!

2 I t has seemed good to me to declare the signs and wonders which the Most High God has done for me.

Видя ми се за добре да оповестя знаменията и чудесата, които ми направи всевишният Бог.

3 “ How great are His signs And how mighty are His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom And His dominion is from generation to generation. The Vision of a Great Tree

Колко са велики Неговите знамения! И колко могъщи са чудесата Му! Неговото царство е вечно и Неговото владичество е из род в род.

4 “ I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at ease in my house and flourishing in my palace.

Аз, Навуходоносор, като бях спокоен у дома си и благополучен в палата си,

5 I saw a dream and it made me fearful; and these fantasies as I lay on my bed and the visions in my mind kept alarming me.

видях сън, който ме уплаши; и размишленията ми на леглото ми и виденията в главата ми ме смутиха.

6 S o I gave orders to bring into my presence all the wise men of Babylon, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream.

Затова издадох указ да се въведат пред мене всичките вавилонски мъдреци, за да ми явят значението на съня.

7 T hen the magicians, the conjurers, the Chaldeans and the diviners came in and I related the dream to them, but they could not make its interpretation known to me.

Тогава влязоха влъхвите, вражалците, халдейците и астролозите и аз разказах съня си пред тях; но не можаха да ми разкрият значението му.

8 B ut finally Daniel came in before me, whose name is Belteshazzar according to the name of my god, and in whom is a spirit of the holy gods; and I related the dream to him, saying,

А най-накрая пред мене дойде Даниил, чието име беше Валтасасар, по името на моя бог, и в когото е духът на святите богове; и аз разказах съня пред него, като казах:

9 ‘ O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, since I know that a spirit of the holy gods is in you and no mystery baffles you, tell me the visions of my dream which I have seen, along with its interpretation.

Валтасасаре, началнико на влъхвите, понеже узнах, че духът на святите богове е в теб и никаква тайна не е трудна за теб, обясни ми виденията на съня, който видях, и ми разкрий значението му.

10 ‘ Now these were the visions in my mind as I lay on my bed: I was looking, and behold, there was a tree in the midst of the earth and its height was great.

Ето какви бяха виденията в главата ми и на леглото ми: Гледах и, ето, дърво сред света, чиято височина беше голяма.

11 ‘ The tree grew large and became strong And its height reached to the sky, And it was visible to the end of the whole earth.

Това дърво стана голямо и яко, височината му стигаше до небето и то се виждаше до краищата на целия свят.

12 ‘ Its foliage was beautiful and its fruit abundant, And in it was food for all. The beasts of the field found shade under it, And the birds of the sky dwelt in its branches, And all living creatures fed themselves from it.

Листата му бяха хубави, плодът му изобилен и в него имаше храна за всички; под сянката му почиваха полските животни и на клоните му обитаваха небесните птици, и от него се хранеше всяка твар.

13 ‘ I was looking in the visions in my mind as I lay on my bed, and behold, an angelic watcher, a holy one, descended from heaven.

Видях във виденията в главата си на леглото си и, ето, един свят страж слезе от небето

14 ‘ He shouted out and spoke as follows: Chop down the tree and cut off its branches, Strip off its foliage and scatter its fruit; Let the beasts flee from under it And the birds from its branches.

и извика със силен глас така: Отсечете дървото и изсечете клоните му; отърсете листата му и разпръснете плода му; нека животните бягат изпод него и птиците - от клоните му;

15 “ Yet leave the stump with its roots in the ground, But with a band of iron and bronze around it In the new grass of the field; And let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, And let him share with the beasts in the grass of the earth.

обаче оставете в земята пъна с корените му сред полската трева, и то с железен и меден обръч наоколо, и нека се мокри с небесната роса и участта му нека бъде с животните в тревата на земята;

16 “ Let his mind be changed from that of a man And let a beast’s mind be given to him, And let seven periods of time pass over him.

нека се измени човешкото му сърце и нека му се даде животинско сърце; и така нека минат над него седем времена.

17 “ This sentence is by the decree of the angelic watchers And the decision is a command of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind, And bestows it on whom He wishes And sets over it the lowliest of men.”

Тази присъда е по заповед от стражите и делото на думата на святите, за да знаят живите, че Всевишният владее над царството на хората, дава го на когото иска и поставя над него най-нищожния измежду хората.

18 T his is the dream which I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, Belteshazzar, tell me its interpretation, inasmuch as none of the wise men of my kingdom is able to make known to me the interpretation; but you are able, for a spirit of the holy gods is in you.’ Daniel Interprets the Vision

Този сън видях аз, цар Навуходоносор, и ти, Валтасасаре, разкрий значението му; защото нито един от мъдреците на царството ми не може да ми разкрие значението; а ти можеш, защото духът на святите богове е в тебе.

19 “ Then Daniel, whose name is Belteshazzar, was appalled for a while as his thoughts alarmed him. The king responded and said, ‘Belteshazzar, do not let the dream or its interpretation alarm you.’ Belteshazzar replied, ‘ My lord, if only the dream applied to those who hate you and its interpretation to your adversaries!

Тогава Даниил, чието име беше Валтасасар, остана смаян за малко и размишленията му го смущаваха. Царят проговори: Валтасасаре, да не те смущава сънят или значението му? Валтасасар отговори: Господарю мой, сънят нека бъде върху онези, които те мразят, и това, което означава - върху неприятелите ти!

20 T he tree that you saw, which became large and grew strong, whose height reached to the sky and was visible to all the earth

Дървото, което си видял, че станало голямо и яко, чиято височина стигала до небето и което се виждало от целия свят,

21 a nd whose foliage was beautiful and its fruit abundant, and in which was food for all, under which the beasts of the field dwelt and in whose branches the birds of the sky lodged—

чиито листа били хубави и плодът му изобилен, дори достатъчна храна за всички, под което живеели полските животни и по клоните на което се подслонявали небесните птици,

22 i t is you, O king; for you have become great and grown strong, and your majesty has become great and reached to the sky and your dominion to the end of the earth.

това дърво си ти, царю, който си станал голям и як; защото величието ти нарасна и стигна до небето и владичеството ти - до края на света.

23 I n that the king saw an angelic watcher, a holy one, descending from heaven and saying, “ Chop down the tree and destroy it; yet leave the stump with its roots in the ground, but with a band of iron and bronze around it in the new grass of the field, and let him be drenched with the dew of heaven, and let him share with the beasts of the field until seven periods of time pass over him,”

А това, че царят е видял един свят страж да слиза от небето и да казва: Отсечете дървото и го съборете, но оставете в земята, в полската трева, пъна с корените му, и то с железен и меден обръч наоколо, и нека се мокри от небесната роса, и нека участта му бъде с полските животни, докато така минат над него седем времена,

24 t his is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king:

ето значението му, царю: Решението на Всевишния, което ще постигне господаря ми, царя, е

25 t hat you be driven away from mankind and your dwelling place be with the beasts of the field, and you be given grass to eat like cattle and be drenched with the dew of heaven; and seven periods of time will pass over you, until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes.

да бъдеш изгонен измежду хората, жилището ти да бъде с полските животни, да ядеш трева като говедата и да те мокри небесната роса, и да минат над тебе седем времена, докато познаеш, че Всевишният владее в царството на хората и го дава на когото иска.

26 A nd in that it was commanded to leave the stump with the roots of the tree, your kingdom will be assured to you after you recognize that it is Heaven that rules.

А това, че се заповядало да оставят пъна с корените на дървото, значи, че царството ще остане твое, щом признаеш, че небесата владеят.

27 T herefore, O king, may my advice be pleasing to you: break away now from your sins by doing righteousness and from your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, in case there may be a prolonging of your prosperity.’ The Vision Fulfilled

Затова, царю, нека ти бъде угоден моят съвет да напуснеш греховете си чрез вършене на правда и беззаконията си - чрез правене благодеяния на бедните, дано се продължи благоденствието ти.

28 “ All this happened to Nebuchadnezzar the king.

Всичко това постигна цар Навуходоносор.

29 T welve months later he was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon.

В края на дванадесет месеца, като ходеше из царския палат във Вавилон,

30 T he king reflected and said, ‘Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?’

царят проговори: Не е ли велик този Вавилон, който аз съградих с мощната си сила за царското жилище и за силата на величието си!

31 W hile the word was in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven, saying, ‘King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: sovereignty has been removed from you,

Думата беше още в устата на царя и глас дойде от небесата, който каза: На тебе се известява, царю Навуходоносоре, че царството премина от теб;

32 a nd you will be driven away from mankind, and your dwelling place will be with the beasts of the field. You will be given grass to eat like cattle, and seven periods of time will pass over you until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes.’

и ще бъдеш изгонен измежду хората, между полските животни ще бъде жилището ти и ще те хранят с трева като говедата; и седем времена ще минат над тебе, докато признаеш, че Всевишният владее над царството на хората и го дава на когото иска.

33 I mmediately the word concerning Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled; and he was driven away from mankind and began eating grass like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws.

В същия час това се изпълни над Навуходоносор; той беше изгонен измежду хората, ядеше трева като говедата и тялото му се мокреше от небесната роса, докато космите му пораснаха като пера на орли и ноктите му - като на птици.

34 “ But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom endures from generation to generation.

А в края на тези дни аз, Навуходоносор, повдигнах очите си към небесата; и разумът ми се възвърна, като благослових Всевишния и похвалих и прославих Онзи, Който живее довека, понеже владичеството Му е вечно и царството Му е из род в род;

35 “ All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, But He does according to His will in the host of heaven And among the inhabitants of earth; And no one can ward off His hand Or say to Him, ‘ What have You done?’

пред Него всички земни жители се смятат за нищо; по волята Си Той действа между небесната войска и между земните жители; и никой не може да спре ръката Му или да Му каже: Какво правиш Ти?

36 A t that time my reason returned to me. And my majesty and splendor were restored to me for the glory of my kingdom, and my counselors and my nobles began seeking me out; so I was reestablished in my sovereignty, and surpassing greatness was added to me.

И в същото време, когато разумът ми се възвърна, възвърнаха ми се, за славата на царството ми, и величието и предишният ми вид; защото съветниците и големците ми ме търсиха, закрепих се над царството си и ми бе прибавено превъзходно величие.

37 N ow I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true and His ways just, and He is able to humble those who walk in pride.”

Сега аз, Навуходоносор, хваля, превъзнасям и славя небесния Цар; защото всичко, което върши, е с вярност и пътищата Му са справедливи; а Той може да смири онези, които ходят горделиво.
