1 І коли Він виходив із храму, говорить Йому один із учнів Його: Подивися, Учителю яке то каміння та що за будівлі!

As He was going out of the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, “Teacher, behold what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!”

2 І сус же до нього сказав: Чи ти бачиш великі будинки оці? Не залишиться тут навіть камінь на камені, який не зруйнується!

And Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left upon another which will not be torn down.”

3 К оли ж Він сидів на Оливній горі, проти храму, питали Його насамоті Петро, і Яків, і Іван, і Андрій:

As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew were questioning Him privately,

4 С кажи нам, коли станеться це? І яка буде ознака, коли все те виконатись має?

“Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?”

5 І сус же почав промовляти до них: Стережіться, щоб вас хто не звів.

And Jesus began to say to them, “See to it that no one misleads you.

6 Б о багато-хто прийдуть в Ім'я Моє, кажучи: Це Я. І зведуть багатьох.

Many will come in My name, saying, ‘ I am He!’ and will mislead many.

7 І як про війни почуєте ви, і про воєнні чутки, не лякайтесь, бо статись належить тому. Та це ще не кінець.

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be frightened; those things must take place; but that is not yet the end.

8 Б о повстане народ на народ, і царство на царство, будуть землетруси місцями, буде голод. Це початок терпінь породільних.

For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will also be famines. These things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.

9 П ильнуйте ж самі, бо вас на суди видаватимуть, і бичуватимуть вас у синагогах, і поведуть до правителів та до царів ради Мене, на свідчення їм.

“But be on your guard; for they will deliver you to the courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them.

10 А ле перше Євангелія мусить бути народам усім проповідувана.

The gospel must first be preached to all the nations.

11 К оли ж видадуть вас і поведуть, не турбуйтеся заздалегідь, що вам говорити, а що дане вам буде тієї години, то те говоріть: бо не ви промовлятимете, але Дух Святий.

When they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit.

12 І видасть на смерть брата брат, а батько дитину. І діти повстануть навпроти батьків, і їм смерть заподіють.

Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and have them put to death.

13 І за Ім'я Моє будуть усі вас ненавидіти. А хто витерпить аж до кінця, той буде спасений!

You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.

14 К оли ж ви побачите ту гидоту спустошення, що про неї звіщав пророк Даниїл, що вона залягла, де не слід, хто читає, нехай розуміє, тоді ті, хто в Юдеї, нехай в гори втікають.

“But when you see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not be (let the reader understand), then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.

15 І хто на покрівлі, нехай той не сходить, і нехай не входить узяти щось із дому свого.

The one who is on the housetop must not go down, or go in to get anything out of his house;

16 І хто на полі, хай назад не вертається взяти одежу свою.

and the one who is in the field must not turn back to get his coat.

17 Г оре ж вагітним і тим, хто годує грудьми, у ті дні!

But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!

18 М оліться ж, щоб не трапилося це зимою!

But pray that it may not happen in the winter.

19 Б удуть бо ті дні такою скорботою, що її не було з первопочину світу, що його Бог створив, аж досі, і не буде.

For those days will be a time of tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never will.

20 І коли б Господь не вкоротив був тих днів, не спаслася б ніяка людина; але ради вибраних, кого вибрав, укоротив Він ті дні.

Unless the Lord had shortened those days, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.

21 Т оді ж, як хто скаже до вас: Ото, Христос тут, Ото там, не йміть віри.

And then if anyone says to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ’; or, ‘Behold, He is there’; do not believe him;

22 Б о повстануть христи неправдиві, і неправдиві пророки, і будуть чинити ознаки та чуда, щоб спокусити, як можна, і вибраних.

for false Christs and false prophets will arise, and will show signs and wonders, in order to lead astray, if possible, the elect.

23 А ле ви стережіться! Я сказав вам усе наперед.

But take heed; behold, I have told you everything in advance. The Return of Christ

24 А ле за тих днів, по скорботі отій, сонце затьмиться, і місяць не дасть свого світла.

“But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light,

25 і зорі спадатимуть з неба, і сили небесні порушаться...

and the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken.

26 І побачать тоді Сина Людського, що йтиме на хмарах із великою потугою й славою.

Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.

27 І тоді Він пошле Анголів і зберуть Його вибраних від вітрів чотирьох, від краю землі до край-неба.

And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven.

28 В ід дерева ж фіґового навчіться прикладу: коли віття його вже розпукується, і кинеться листя, то знаєте, що близько літо.

“Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near.

29 Т ак і ви: коли тільки побачите, що діється це, то знайте, що близько, під дверима.

Even so, you too, when you see these things happening, recognize that He is near, right at the door.

30 П оправді кажу вам: не перейде цей рід, аж усе оце станеться!

Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

31 Н ебо й земля проминуться, але не минуться слова Мої!

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

32 П ро день же той чи про годину не знає ніхто: ні Анголи на небі, ні Син, тільки Отець.

But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.

33 У важайте, чувайте й моліться: бо не знаєте, коли час той настане!

“Take heed, keep on the alert; for you do not know when the appointed time will come.

34 Я к той чоловік, що від'їхав, і залишив свій дім, і дав рабам своїм владу й кожному працю свою, а воротареві звелів пильнувати.

It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay on the alert.

35 Т ож пильнуйте, не знаєте бо, коли прийде пан дому: увечорі, чи опівночі, чи як півні співатимуть, чи ранком.

Therefore, be on the alert—for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—

36 Щ об вас не застав, що спите, коли вернеться він несподівано.

in case he should come suddenly and find you asleep.

37 А що вам Я кажу, те всім Я кажу: Пильнуйте!

What I say to you I say to all, ‘ Be on the alert!’”
