1 D espués el Señor le dijo a Noé: «Entra en el arca, tú y toda tu casa, porque en esta generación he visto que tú eres justo delante de mí.

Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the boat, you and all your family. For I have seen that you only are right and good at this time.

2 D e todo animal limpio tomarás siete parejas, cada macho con su hembra; pero de los animales que no son limpios sólo una pareja, un macho con su hembra.

Take with you seven of every clean animal of each sex, and one of each sex of the animals that are unclean.

3 T ambién de las aves de los cielos tomarás siete parejas, macho y hembra, para conservar viva su especie sobre la faz de la tierra.

And take with you seven of every kind of bird of the sky of each sex, to keep their kind alive over all the earth.

4 P orque dentro de siete días yo haré llover sobre la tierra cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, y borraré de la faz de la tierra a todos los seres vivos que hice.»

In seven days I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights. I will destroy from the land every living thing that I have made.”

5 N oé hizo todo en conformidad con lo que le mandó el Señor.

And Noah did all that the Lord told him to do.

6 C uando el diluvio de las aguas cayó sobre la tierra, Noé tenía seiscientos años.

Noah was 600 years old when the flood of water came upon the earth.

7 P ara protegerse de ellas, Noé entró en el arca, junto con sus hijos, su mujer, y las mujeres de sus hijos.

Then Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives all went into the large boat because of the water of the flood.

8 L os animales limpios, y los que no eran limpios, y las aves, y todo lo que se arrastra sobre la tierra

Clean animals and animals that were unclean and birds and every thing that moved on the ground

9 e ntraron en el arca de dos en dos, macho y hembra, junto con Noé, tal y como Dios se lo ordenó,

went into the large boat with Noah. They went two by two, male and female, just as God had told Noah.

10 y al séptimo día las aguas del diluvio cayeron sobre la tierra.

After seven days the waters of the flood came upon the earth.

11 E l día diecisiete del mes segundo del año seiscientos de la vida de Noé, se rompieron todas las fuentes del gran abismo y se abrieron las cataratas de los cielos,

In the year 600 of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, all the wells of water under the earth broke open. The windows of the heavens were opened.

12 y llovió sobre la tierra durante cuarenta días y cuarenta noches.

And the rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.

13 E se mismo día, Noé y sus hijos Sem, Cam y Jafet entraron en el arca, junto con la mujer de Noé y las tres mujeres de sus hijos,

On the very same day Noah and his sons, Shem and Ham and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, all went into the large boat.

14 a sí como todos los animales salvajes según su especie, todos los animales domésticos según su especie, todos los reptiles que se arrastran sobre la tierra según su especie, toda clase de pájaros según su especie.

With them went every kind of animal, and all the cattle, and every thing that moved on the earth, and every kind of bird.

15 E n el arca entraron, junto con Noé, y de dos en dos, todos los seres que tenían hálito de vida.

They went into the large boat with Noah, two of every living thing.

16 L os que entraron eran un macho y una hembra de cada ser vivo, tal y como Dios se lo había ordenado. Después el Señor cerró la puerta.

Male and female of all flesh went in as God had told Noah. Then the Lord shut him in.

17 E l diluvio duró cuarenta días sobre la tierra, y las aguas subieron y levantaron el arca, y ésta flotaba por encima de la tierra.

The flood came upon the earth for forty days. The water got deeper and raised up the large boat so that it was lifted above the earth.

18 T anto arreciaron y aumentaron las aguas sobre la tierra que el arca flotaba sobre la superficie de las aguas.

The water was very deep upon the earth. And the boat stayed upon the top of the water.

19 A rreciaron tanto las aguas sobre la tierra que aun los montes más altos quedaron cubiertos.

The water got higher and higher upon the earth until all the high mountains under heaven were covered.

20 D espués de haber cubierto los montes, las aguas subieron todavía siete metros más.

But the water went about four times taller than a man above the tops of the mountains.

21 A sí murieron todos los seres que pululaban sobre la tierra, tanto las aves como el ganado y las bestias, y todo reptil que se arrastraba sobre la tierra, y todos los seres humanos.

All flesh that moved on the earth was destroyed, birds and cattle and wild animals, and every man.

22 M urió todo lo que había en la tierra, todo lo que tenía en su nariz aliento de espíritu de vida.

Every thing that had the breath of life and lived on dry land died.

23 F ueron borrados de la faz de la tierra todos los seres que la habitaban, lo mismo los hombres que las bestias, los reptiles y las aves del cielo. Fueron borrados de la tierra, y sólo quedaron con vida Noé y los que estaban con él en el arca.

God destroyed every living thing upon the land, from man to animals, from things that moved upon the ground to birds of the sky. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those that were with him in the large boat.

24 Y las aguas permanecieron sobre la tierra ciento cincuenta días.

And the water covered the earth for 150 days.
