1 A nd Jehovah said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the boat, you and all your family. For I have seen that you only are right and good at this time.
2 O f every clean beast thou shalt take to thee seven and seven, the male and his female; and of the beasts that are not clean two, the male and his female:
Take with you seven of every clean animal of each sex, and one of each sex of the animals that are unclean.
3 o f the birds also of the heavens, seven and seven, male and female, to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.
And take with you seven of every kind of bird of the sky of each sex, to keep their kind alive over all the earth.
4 F or yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living thing that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the ground.
In seven days I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights. I will destroy from the land every living thing that I have made.”
5 A nd Noah did according unto all that Jehovah commanded him.
And Noah did all that the Lord told him to do.
6 A nd Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
Noah was 600 years old when the flood of water came upon the earth.
7 A nd Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
Then Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives all went into the large boat because of the water of the flood.
8 O f clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of birds, and of everything that creepeth upon the ground,
Clean animals and animals that were unclean and birds and every thing that moved on the ground
9 t here went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, male and female, as God commanded Noah.
went into the large boat with Noah. They went two by two, male and female, just as God had told Noah.
10 A nd it came to pass after the seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
After seven days the waters of the flood came upon the earth.
11 I n the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
In the year 600 of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, all the wells of water under the earth broke open. The windows of the heavens were opened.
12 A nd the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
And the rain fell upon the earth for forty days and forty nights.
13 I n the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;
On the very same day Noah and his sons, Shem and Ham and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, all went into the large boat.
14 t hey, and every beast after its kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort.
With them went every kind of animal, and all the cattle, and every thing that moved on the earth, and every kind of bird.
15 A nd they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh wherein is the breath of life.
They went into the large boat with Noah, two of every living thing.
16 A nd they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God commanded him: and Jehovah shut him in.
Male and female of all flesh went in as God had told Noah. Then the Lord shut him in.
17 A nd the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lifted up above the earth.
The flood came upon the earth for forty days. The water got deeper and raised up the large boat so that it was lifted above the earth.
18 A nd the waters prevailed, and increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
The water was very deep upon the earth. And the boat stayed upon the top of the water.
19 A nd the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high mountains that were under the whole heaven were covered.
The water got higher and higher upon the earth until all the high mountains under heaven were covered.
20 F ifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.
But the water went about four times taller than a man above the tops of the mountains.
21 A nd all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both birds, and cattle, and beasts, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
All flesh that moved on the earth was destroyed, birds and cattle and wild animals, and every man.
22 a ll in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, of all that was on the dry land, died.
Every thing that had the breath of life and lived on dry land died.
23 A nd every living thing was destroyed that was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and creeping things, and birds of the heavens; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only was left, and they that were with him in the ark.
God destroyed every living thing upon the land, from man to animals, from things that moved upon the ground to birds of the sky. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those that were with him in the large boat.
24 A nd the waters prevailed upon the earth a hundred and fifty days.
And the water covered the earth for 150 days.
