1 B ow down thine ear, O Jehovah, and answer me; For I am poor and needy.
Hear, O Lord, and answer me. For I am suffering and in need.
2 P reserve my soul; for I am godly: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.
Keep my life, for I am faithful to You. You are my God. Save Your servant who trusts in You.
3 B e merciful unto me, O Lord; For unto thee do I cry all the day long.
Show me loving-kindness, O Lord. For I cry to You all day long.
4 R ejoice the soul of thy servant; For unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
Bring joy to Your servant. For I lift up my soul to You, O Lord.
5 F or thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in lovingkindness unto all them that call upon thee.
For You are good and ready to forgive, O Lord. You are rich in loving-kindness to all who call to You.
6 G ive ear, O Jehovah, unto my prayer; And hearken unto the voice of my supplications.
Hear my prayer, O Lord. Listen to my cry for help.
7 I n the day of my trouble I will call upon thee; For thou wilt answer me.
I will call to You in the day of my trouble. For You will answer me.
8 T here is none like unto thee among the gods, O Lord; Neither are there any works like unto thy works.
There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord. And there are no works like Yours.
9 A ll nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; And they shall glorify thy name.
All the nations You have made will come and worship before You, O Lord. And they will bring honor to Your name.
10 F or thou art great, and doest wondrous things: Thou art God alone.
For You are great and do great things. You alone are God.
11 T each me thy way, O Jehovah; I will walk in thy truth: Unite my heart to fear thy name.
Teach me Your way, O Lord. I will walk in Your truth. May my heart fear Your name.
12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart; And I will glorify thy name for evermore.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You with all my heart. I will bring honor to Your name forever.
13 F or great is thy lovingkindness toward me; And thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol.
For Your loving-kindness toward me is great. And You have saved my soul from the bottom of the grave.
14 O God, the proud are risen up against me, And a company of violent men have sought after my soul, And have not set thee before them.
O God, proud men have come up against me. A group of fighting men want to take my life. And they do not think of You.
15 B ut thou, O Lord, art a God merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.
But You, O Lord, are a God full of love and pity. You are slow to anger and rich in loving-kindness and truth.
16 O h turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; Give thy strength unto thy servant, And save the son of thy handmaid.
Turn to me, and show me loving-kindness. Give Your strength to Your servant. And save the son of your woman servant.
17 S how me a token for good, That they who hate me may see it, and be put to shame, Because thou, Jehovah, hast helped me, and comforted me.
Give me something special to see of Your favor. Then those who hate me may see it and be ashamed. Because You, O Lord, have helped me and comforted me.
