Praise the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord! Praise Him, O servants of the Lord,

2 l os que sirven en el templo del Señor, los que están en los atrios de nuestro Dios!

you who stand in the house of the Lord, within the walls of the house of our God.

3 ¡ Alaben al Señor, porque él es bueno! ¡Canten salmos a su nombre, por su bondad!

Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good. Sing praises to His name, for it is sweet.

4 E l Señor eligió a Jacob como su propiedad; hizo que Israel fuera su propio pueblo.

For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself. Israel belongs to Him.

5 Y o sé bien que el Señor nuestro Dios es grande, ¡que es más grande que todos los dioses!

I know that the Lord is great. He is greater than all gods.

6 E l Señor hace todo lo que él quiere, en los cielos y en la tierra, en los mares y en los abismos profundos.

The Lord does whatever is pleasing to Him, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and in all waters.

7 D esde lo más remoto de la tierra hace que las nubes se levanten, envía los relámpagos que acompañan la lluvia, y abre las puertas para que salgan los vientos.

He makes the clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He makes lightning come with the rain. He brings the wind out from where He stores His riches.

8 A los primogénitos egipcios les quitó la vida; lo hizo con los hombres y con las bestias.

He killed the first-born of Egypt, both man and animal.

9 A llí en Egipto, al faraón y a sus siervos les advirtió con prodigios y señales.

He sent special things to see and did great works among you, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.

10 E l Señor destruyó a muchas naciones, y les quitó la vida a reyes poderosos:

He crushed many nations and killed powerful kings,

11 a Sijón, rey de los amorreos; a Og, rey de Basán; y a los todos los reyes cananeos.

King Sihon of the Amorites, King Og of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan.

12 T odo el territorio que esos reyes habitaban se lo dio en propiedad a su pueblo Israel.

And He gave their land as a gift, a gift to Israel His people.

13 S eñor, tu nombre es eterno; por todas las generaciones serás recordado,

O Lord, Your name lasts forever. O Lord, You will be remembered for all time.

14 p orque tú, Señor, defiendes a tu pueblo y te compadeces de tus siervos.

For the Lord will decide in favor of His people. He will have loving-pity on His servants.

15 L os dioses de los paganos son de oro y plata, y están hechos por la mano del hombre.

The gods of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men.

16 T ienen boca, pero no hablan; tienen ojos, pero no ven;

They have mouths but they do not speak. They have eyes but they do not see.

17 o rejas tienen, pero no oyen, y en sus labios no hay aliento de vida.

They have ears but they do not hear. And there is no breath in their mouths.

18 I guales a ellos son quienes los fabrican, y todos los que ponen su confianza en ellos.

Those who make them and those who trust in them will be like them.

19 U stedes los israelitas, ¡bendigan al Señor! Ustedes los sacerdotes, ¡bendigan al Señor!

O house of Israel, give honor and thanks to the Lord. O house of Aaron, give honor and thanks to the Lord.

20 U stedes los levitas, ¡bendigan al Señor! Ustedes temerosos del Señor, ¡bendigan al Señor!

O house of Levi, give honor and thanks to the Lord. You who fear the Lord, give honor and thanks to the Lord.

21 ¡ Bendito sea desde Sión el Señor, que habita en Jerusalén! ¡Aleluya!
