1 W hy, Jehovah, standest thou afar off? hidest thou thyself in times of distress?

¿Por qué estás lejos, oh SEÑOR, y te escondes en los tiempos de la angustia?

2 T he wicked, in his pride, doth hotly pursue the afflicted. They shall be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

Con arrogancia el malo persigue al pobre; sean tomados en los pensamientos que pensaron.

3 F or the wicked boasteth of his soul's desire, and he blesseth the covetous; he contemneth Jehovah.

Por cuanto se alabó el malo del deseo de su alma, y diciendo bien al robador, blasfema del SEÑOR.

4 T he wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, He doth not search out: all his thoughts are, There is no God!

El malo, por la altivez de su rostro, no busca a Dios. No está Dios en todos sus pensamientos.

5 H is ways always succeed; thy judgments are far above out of his sight; all his adversaries, he puffeth at them.

Sus caminos atormentan en todo tiempo; tus juicios son altura delante de él; echa bocanadas en orden a todos sus enemigos.

6 H e saith in his heart, I shall not be moved; from generation to generation I shall be in no adversity.

Dice en su corazón: No seré movido en ningún tiempo, porque no me alcanzará el mal.

7 H is mouth is full of cursing, and deceit, and oppression; under his tongue is mischief and iniquity.

Llena está su boca de maldición, y de engaños y fraude; debajo de su lengua, molestia y maldad.

8 H e sitteth in the lurking-places of the villages; in the secret places doth he slay the innocent: his eyes watch for the wretched.

Está en las guaridas de las aldeas; en los escondrijos mata al inocente; sus ojos están acechando al pobre.

9 H e lieth in wait secretly, like a lion in his thicket; he lieth in wait to catch the afflicted: he doth catch the afflicted, drawing him into his net.

Acecha de encubierto, como el león desde su cama; acecha para arrebatar al pobre; arrebata al pobre trayéndolo en su red.

10 H e croucheth, he boweth down, that the wretched may fall by his strong ones.

Se encoge, se agacha, y caen en sus fuerzas muchos desdichados.

11 H e saith in his heart, God hath forgotten, he hideth his face, he will never see.

Dice en su corazón: Dios está olvidado, ha encubierto su rostro; nunca lo vio.

12 A rise, Jehovah; O God, lift up thy hand: forget not the afflicted.

¶ Levántate, oh SEÑOR Dios, alza tu mano, no te olvides de los humildes.

13 W herefore doth the wicked contemn God? He hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require.

¿Por qué irrita el malo a Dios? En su corazón ha dicho que no lo inquirirás.

14 T hou hast seen, for thou thyself beholdest trouble and vexation, to requite by thy hand. The wretched committeth himself unto thee; thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.

Tú has visto; porque tú miras el trabajo, y el enojo, para dar justicia en tus manos; a ti se acoge el pobre, tú eres el amparo del huérfano.

15 B reak thou the arm of the wicked, and as for the evil man, seek out his wickedness thou find none.

Quebranta el brazo del inicuo; del malo buscarás su maldad, y no la hallarás.

16 J ehovah is King for ever and ever: the nations have perished out of his land.

El SEÑOR, Rey eterno y perpetuo; de su tierra fueron destruidos los gentiles.

17 J ehovah, thou hast heard the desire of the meek, thou hast established their heart: thou causest thine ear to hear,

El deseo de los humildes oíste, oh SEÑOR; tú dispones su corazón, y haces atento tu oído;

18 T o do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed one, that the man of the earth may terrify no more.

para juzgar al huérfano y al pobre; no volverá más a hacer violencia el hombre de la tierra.
