1 A nd as he was going out of the temple, one of his disciples says to him, Teacher, see what stones and what buildings!

¶ Y saliendo del Templo, le dice uno de sus discípulos: Maestro, mira qué piedras, y qué edificios.

2 A nd Jesus answering said to him, Seest thou these great buildings? not a stone shall be left upon a stone, which shall not be thrown down.

Y Jesús respondiendo, le dijo: ¿Ves estos grandes edificios? No quedará piedra sobre piedra que no sea derribada.

3 A nd as he sat on the mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

Y sentándose en el Monte de las Olivas delante del Templo, le preguntaron aparte Pedro y Jacobo y Juan y Andrés:

4 T ell us, when shall these things be, and what is the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?

Dinos, ¿cuándo serán estas cosas? ¿Y qué señal habrá cuando todas las cosas han de ser acabadas?

5 A nd Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any one mislead you.

¶ Y Jesús respondiéndoles, comenzó a decir: Mirad, que nadie os engañe.

6 F or many shall come in my name, saying, It is I, and shall mislead many.

Porque vendrán muchos en mi nombre, diciendo: Yo Soy el Cristo; y engañarán a muchos.

7 B ut when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be not disturbed, for must happen, but the end is not yet.

Mas cuando oyereis de guerras y de rumores de guerras no os turbéis, porque conviene hacerse así; mas aún no será el fin.

8 F or nation shall rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be earthquakes in places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these things beginnings of throes.

Porque gente se levantará contra gente, y reino contra reino; y habrá terremotos en cada lugar, y habrá hambres y alborotos; principios de dolores serán éstos.

9 B ut ye, take heed to yourselves, for they shall deliver you up to sanhedrims and to synagogues: ye shall be beaten and brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them;

Mas vosotros mirad por vosotros; porque os entregarán en los concilios, y en las sinagogas seréis azotados; y delante de gobernadores y de reyes seréis llamados por causa de mí, por testimonio a ellos.

10 a nd the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.

Y a todos los gentiles conviene que el evangelio sea predicado antes.

11 B ut when they shall lead you away to deliver you up, be not careful beforehand as to what ye shall say,: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak; for ye are not the speakers, but the Holy Spirit.

Y cuando os trajeren para entregaros, no premeditéis qué habéis de decir, ni lo penséis; mas lo que os fuere dado en aquella hora, eso hablad; porque no sois vosotros los que habláis, sino el Espíritu Santo.

12 B ut brother shall deliver up brother to death, and father child; and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.

Y entregará a la muerte el hermano al hermano, y el padre al hijo; y se levantarán los hijos contra los padres, y los matarán.

13 A nd ye will be hated of all on account of my name; but he that has endured to the end, he shall be saved.

Y seréis aborrecidos de todos por mi nombre; MAS EL QUE PERSEVERARE HASTA EL FIN, ESTE SERÁ SALVO.

14 B ut when ye shall see the abomination of desolation standing where it should not, (he that reads let him consider,) then let those in Judaea flee to the mountains;

¶ Pero cuando viereis la abominación de asolamiento, (que fue dicha por el profeta Daniel,) que estará donde no debe, el que lee, entienda, entonces los que estuvieren en Judea huyan a los montes;

15 a nd him that is upon the housetop not come down into the house, nor enter to take away anything out of his house;

y el que estuviere sobre la casa, no descienda a la casa, ni entre para tomar algo de su casa;

16 a nd him that is in the field not return back to take his garment.

y el que estuviere en el campo, no vuelva atrás ni aun a tomar su capa.

17 B ut woe to those that are with child and to those that give suck in those days!

Mas ¡ay de las que estén encinta, y de las que criaren en aquellos días!

18 A nd pray that it may not be in winter time;

Orad pues, que no acontezca vuestra huida en invierno.

19 f or those days shall be distress such as there has not been the like since beginning of creation which God created, until now, and never shall be;

Porque aquellos días serán de aflicción, cual nunca fue desde el principio de la creación de las cosas que creó Dios, hasta este tiempo, ni será.

20 a nd if Lord had not cut short those days, no flesh should have been saved; but on account of the elect whom he has chosen, he has cut short those days.

Y si el Señor no hubiera acortado aquellos días, ninguna carne se salvaría; mas por causa de los escogidos, que él escogió, acortó aquellos días.

21 A nd then if any one say to you, Lo, here the Christ, or Lo, there, believe not.

Y entonces si alguno os dijere: He aquí, aquí está el Cristo; o, He aquí, allí está, no le creáis.

22 F or false Christs and false prophets will arise, and give signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Porque se levantarán falsos Cristos y falsos profetas; y darán señales y prodigios, para engañar, si se pudiera hacer, aun a los escogidos.

23 B ut do ye take heed: behold, I have told you all things beforehand.

Mas vosotros mirad; he aquí os lo he dicho antes todo.

24 B ut in those days, after that distress, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give its light;

¶ Pero en aquellos días, después de aquella aflicción, el sol se oscurecerá, y la luna no dará su resplandor.

25 a nd the stars of heaven shall be falling down, and the powers which are in the heavens shall be shaken;

Y las estrellas caerán del cielo, y las virtudes que están en los cielos serán conmovidas;

26 a nd then shall they see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory;

y entonces verán al Hijo del hombre, que vendrá en las nubes con mucha potestad y gloria.

27 a nd then shall he send his angels and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from end of earth to end of heaven.

Y entonces enviará sus ángeles, y juntará sus escogidos de los cuatro vientos, desde el cabo de la tierra hasta el cabo del cielo.

28 B ut learn the parable from the fig-tree: when its branch already becomes tender and puts forth the leaves, ye know that the summer is near.

¶ De la higuera aprended la semejanza: Cuando su rama ya se hace tierna, y brota hojas, conocéis que el verano está cerca.

29 T hus also ye, when ye see these things happening, know that it is near, at the doors.

Así también vosotros, cuando viereis hacerse estas cosas, conoced que está cerca, a las puertas.

30 V erily I say unto you, This generation shall in no wise pass away, till all these things take place.

De cierto os digo que no pasará esta generación, que todas estas cosas no sean hechas.

31 T he heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall in no wise pass away.

El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero mis palabras no pasarán.

32 B ut of that day or of that hour no one knows, neither the angels who are in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.

Pero de aquel día y de la hora, nadie sabe; ni aun los ángeles que están en el cielo, ni el mismo Hijo, sino solo el Padre.

33 T ake heed, watch and pray, for ye do not know when the time is:

Mirad, velad y orad; porque no sabéis cuándo será el tiempo.

34 a s a man gone out of the country, having left his house and given to his bondmen the authority, and to each one his work, and commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch.

Como el hombre que yéndose lejos, dejó su casa, y dio a sus siervos su hacienda, y a cada uno su cargo, y al portero mandó que velara.

35 W atch therefore, for ye do not know when the master of the house comes: evening, or midnight, or cock-crow, or morning;

Velad pues, porque no sabéis cuándo el Señor de la casa vendrá; si a la tarde, o a la medianoche, o al canto del gallo, o a la mañana;

36 l est coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

para que cuando viniere de repente, no os halle durmiendo.

37 B ut what I say to you, I say to all, Watch.

Y las cosas que a vosotros digo, a todos las digo: Velad.
