1 I will sing to my well-beloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard: My well-beloved had a vineyard upon a fruitful hill.

Ahora cantaré por mi amado el cantar de mi amado a su viña. Tenía mi amado una viña en el cuerno de los hijos de aceite.

2 A nd he dug it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine; and he built a tower in the midst of it, and also hewed out a winepress therein; and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, but it brought forth wild grapes.

La había cercado, y despedregado, y plantado de vides escogidas; había edificado en medio de ella una torre, y también asentado un lagar en ella; y esperaba que diera uvas, y dio uvas silvestres.

3 A nd now, inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, between me and my vineyard.

Ahora, pues, vecinos de Jerusalén y varones de Judá, juzgad ahora entre mí y mi viña.

4 W hat was there yet to do to my vineyard that I have not done in it? Wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?—

¿Qué más se había de hacer a mi viña, que yo no hice en ella? ¿Cómo, esperando yo que diera uvas, ha dado uvas silvestres?

5 A nd now, let me tell you what I am about to do to my vineyard: I will take away its hedge, and it shall be eaten up; I will break down its wall, and it shall be trodden under foot;

Os mostraré, pues, ahora lo que haré yo a mi viña: Le quitaré su vallado, y será para ser consumida; aportillaré su cerca, y será para ser hollada;

6 a nd I will make it a waste—it shall not be pruned nor cultivated, but there shall come up briars and thorns; and I will command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.

haré que quede desierta; no será podada ni cavada; y crecerán el cardo y las espinas; y aun a las nubes mandaré que no derramen lluvia sobre ella.

7 F or the vineyard of Jehovah of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah the plant of his delight: and he looked for justice, and behold, blood-shedding; for righteousness, and behold, a cry.

Ciertamente la viña del SEÑOR de los ejércitos es la casa de Israel, y todo hombre de Judá planta suya deleitosa. Esperaba juicio, y he aquí opresión; justicia, y he aquí clamor.

8 W oe unto them that add house to house, that join field to field, until there is no more room, and that ye dwell yourselves alone in the midst of the land!

¡Ay de los que juntan casa con casa, y agregan heredad a heredad hasta acabar el término! ¿Habitaréis vosotros solos en medio de la tierra?

9 I n mine ears Jehovah of hosts, Many houses shall assuredly become a desolation, great and excellent ones, without inhabitant.

Ha llegado a mis oídos de parte del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, que las muchas casas han de quedar asoladas, sin morador las grandes y hermosas.

10 Y ea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield an ephah.

Y diez yugadas de viña producirán un bato, y un homer de simiente dará un efa.

11 W oe unto them that, rising early in the morning, run after strong drink; that linger till twilight, wine inflameth them!

¡Ay de los que se levantan de mañana para seguir la embriaguez; que se están hasta la noche, hasta que el vino los enciende!

12 A nd harp and lyre, tambour and flute, and wine are in their banquets; but they regard not the work of Jehovah, nor do they see the operation of his hands.

Y en sus banquetes hay arpas, vihuelas, tamboriles, flautas, y vino; y no miran la obra del SEÑOR, ni consideran la obra de sus manos.

13 T herefore my people are led away captive from lack of knowledge, and their nobility die of famine, and their multitude are parched with thirst.

Por tanto, mi pueblo fue llevado cautivo, porque no tuvo ciencia; y su gloria pereció de hambre, y su multitud se secó de sed.

14 T herefore doth Sheol enlarge its desire, and open its mouth without measure; and her splendour shall descend, and her multitude, and her tumult, and that is joyful within her.

Por tanto el Seol ensanchó su alma, y sin medida extendió su boca; y su gloria y su multitud descendió allá; y su fausto, y el que se regocijaba en él.

15 A nd the mean man shall be bowed down, and the great man brought low, and the eyes of the lofty shall be brought low;

Y todo hombre será humillado, y todo varón será abatido, y los ojos de los altivos serán bajados.

16 a nd Jehovah of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and the holy God hallowed in righteousness.

Pero el SEÑOR de los ejércitos será ensalzado con juicio; y el Dios Santo será santificado con justicia.

17 A nd the lambs shall feed as on their pasture, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.

Y los corderos serán apacentados según su costumbre; y extraños comerán las gruesas desamparadas.

18 W oe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as with cart-ropes!

¡Ay de los que traen tirando la iniquidad con sogas de vanidad, y el pecado como con coyundas de carreta,

19 w ho say, Let him hasten, let him speed his work, that we may see; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!

los cuales dicen: Venga ya, apresúrese su obra, y veamos; acérquese, y venga el consejo del Santo de Israel, para que lo sepamos!

20 W oe unto them who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

¡Ay de los que a lo malo dicen bueno, y a lo bueno malo; que hacen de la luz tinieblas, y de las tinieblas luz; que tornen de lo amargo dulce, y de lo dulce amargo!

21 W oe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and intelligent in their own esteem!

¡Ay de los sabios en sus propios ojos, y de los que son prudentes delante de sí mismos!

22 W oe unto them that are mighty for drinking wine, and men valiant to mix strong drink;

¡Ay de los que son valientes para beber vino, y varones fuertes para mezclar bebida;

23 w ho justify the wicked for a bribe, and turn away the righteousness of the righteous from them!

los que dan por justo al impío por sobornos, y al justo quitan su justicia!

24 T herefore as a tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and dry grass sinketh down in the flame, their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; for they have rejected the law of Jehovah of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Por tanto, como la lengua del fuego consume las aristas, y la paja es desecha por la llama, así será su raíz como pudrición, y su flor se desvanecerá como polvo; porque desecharon la ley del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y abominaron la palabra del Santo de Israel.

25 T herefore is the anger of Jehovah kindled against his people, and he hath stretched out his hand against them and hath smitten them; and the mountains trembled, and their carcases are become as dung in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, and his hand is stretched out still.

Por esta causa se encendió el furor del SEÑOR contra su pueblo; y extendiendo contra él su mano, lo hirió; y se estremecieron los montes, y sus cadáveres fueron arrojados en medio de las calles. Con todo esto no ha cesado su furor, antes está su mano todavía extendida.

26 A nd he will lift up a banner to the nations afar off, and will hiss for one from the end of the earth; and behold, it will come rapidly lightly.

Y levantará bandera como ejemplo a los gentiles de lejos, y silbará al que está en el cabo de la tierra; y he aquí que vendrá pronto y velozmente.

27 N one among them is weary, none stumbleth; they slumber not, nor sleep; none hath the girdle of his loins loosed, nor the thong of his sandals broken;

No habrá entre ellos cansado, ni quien tropiece; ninguno se dormirá, ni le tomará sueño; a ninguno se le desatará el cinto de los lomos, ni se le romperá la correa de sus zapatos.

28 t heir arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses' hoofs are reckoned as the flint, and their wheels as a whirlwind.

Sus saetas amoladas, y todos sus arcos entesados; los cascos de sus caballos parecerán como de pedernal; y las ruedas de sus carros como torbellino.

29 T heir roaring is like a lioness, they roar as the young lions; yea, they growl, and snatch the prey, and carry it away safe, and there is none to deliver;

Su bramido, como de león; rugirá a manera de leoncillos, rechinará los dientes; y arrebatará la presa; la apañará, y nadie se la quitará.

30 a nd they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea. And if one look upon the earth, behold darkness distress, and the light is darkened in the heavens thereof.

Y bramará sobre él en aquel día como bramido del mar; entonces mirará hacia la tierra, y he aquí tinieblas de tribulación; y en sus cielos se oscurecerá la luz.
