1 A nd the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel (for he was the firstborn; but, inasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel; but the genealogy is not registered according to the birthright,

Y los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel (porque él era el primogénito, mas como violó el lecho de su padre, sus derechos de primogenitura fueron dados a los hijos de José, hijo de Israel; y no fue contado por primogénito.

2 f or Judah prevailed among his brethren, and of him was the prince, but the birthright was Joseph's),

Porque Judá fue el mayorazgo sobre sus hermanos, y el príncipe de ellos; mas el derecho de primogenitura fue de José).

3 — the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Enoch and Phallu, Hezron and Carmi.

Fueron, pues, los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel: Hanoc, Falú, Hezrón y Carmi.

4 T he sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,

Los hijos de Joel: Semaías su hijo, Gog su hijo, Simei su hijo;

5 M icah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son,

Micaía su hijo, Reaía su hijo, Baal su hijo;

6 B eerah his son, whom Tilgath-Pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

Beera su hijo, el cual fue transportado por Tiglat-pileser rey de los asirios. Este era príncipe de los rubenitas.

7 A nd his brethren by their families, in the genealogical register of their generations, were: the chief, Jeiel, and Zechariah,

Y sus hermanos por sus familias, cuando eran contados en sus descendencias, tenían por príncipes a Jeiel y a Zacarías.

8 a nd Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, as far as Nebo and Baal-meon;

Y Bela hijo de Azaz, hijo de Sema, hijo de Joel, habitó en Aroer hasta Nebo y Baal-meón.

9 a nd eastward he dwelt as far as the entrance to the wilderness from the river Euphrates; for their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

Habitó también desde el oriente hasta la entrada del desierto desde el río Eufrates; porque sus ganados se habían multiplicado en la tierra de Galaad.

10 A nd in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents throughout the east side of Gilead.

Y en los días de Saúl trajeron guerra contra los agarenos (ismaelitas), los cuales cayeron en su mano; y ellos habitaron en sus tiendas sobre toda la parte oriental de Galaad.

11 A nd the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan, as far as Salcah:

Y los hijos de Gad habitaron enfrente de ellos en la tierra de Basán hasta Salca.

12 J oel was the chief and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

Y la cabeza fue Joel, el segundo Safán, luego Jaanai, y después Safat en Basán.

13 A nd their brethren according to their fathers' houses were Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jaachan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.

Y sus hermanos, según las familias de sus padres, fueron Micael, Mesulam, Seba, Jorai, Jacán, Zía, y Heber; por todos siete.

14 — These were the sons of Abihail, the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz:

Estos fueron los hijos de Abihail hijo de Huri, hijo de Jaroa, hijo de Galaad, hijo de Micael, hijo de Jesisai, hijo de Jahdo, hijo de Buz.

15 A hi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, was chief of their fathers' house.

También Ahí, hijo de Abdiel, hijo de Guni, fue príncipe en la casa de sus padres.

16 A nd they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in its towns, and in all the pasture-grounds of Sharon, as far as their limits.

Los cuales habitaron en Galaad, en Basán, y en sus aldeas, y en todos los ejidos de Sarón hasta salir de ellos.

17 A ll these were registered by genealogy in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

Todos éstos fueron contados por sus generaciones en días de Jotam rey de Judá, y en días de Jeroboam rey de Israel.

18 T he children of Reuben and the Gadites and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men who carried shield and sword, drawing the bow and skilful in war, were forty-four thousand seven hundred and sixty, able to go forth to war.

Los hijos de Rubén, y de Gad, y la media tribu de Manasés, hombres valientes, hombres que traían escudo y espada, que entesaban arco, y diestros en la guerra, cuarenta y cuatro mil setecientos sesenta que salían a batalla.

19 A nd they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab;

Y tuvieron guerra con los agarenos, Jetur, Nafis, y Nodab.

20 a nd they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them, because they put their trust in him.

Y fueron ayudados contra ellos, y los agarenos se dieron en sus manos, y todos los que con ellos estaban; porque clamaron a Dios en la guerra, y les fue favorable, porque esperaron en él.

21 A nd they took away their cattle: their camels fifty thousand, and two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, and two thousand asses, and a hundred thousand human souls.

Y tomaron sus ganados, cincuenta mil camellos, y doscientas cincuenta mil ovejas, dos mil asnos, y cien mil personas.

22 F or there fell down many slain, for the war was of God. And they dwelt in their stead until the captivity.

Y cayeron muchos heridos, porque la guerra era de Dios; y habitaron en sus lugares hasta la transmigración.

23 A nd the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan as far as Baal-Hermon and Senir, and mount Hermon; they were many.

Y los hijos de la media tribu de Manasés habitaron en la tierra, desde Basán hasta Baal-hermón, Senir y el monte de Hermón, multiplicados en gran manera.

24 A nd these were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, and Jishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.

Y éstas fueron las cabezas de las casas de sus padres: Efer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremías, Hodavías, y Jahdiel, hombres valientes y de esfuerzo, varones de nombre y cabeceras de las casas de sus padres.

25 A nd they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.

Mas se rebelaron contra el Dios de sus padres, y fornicaron siguiendo a los dioses de los pueblos de la tierra, a los cuales el SEÑOR había quitado de delante de ellos.

26 A nd the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-Pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan,—unto this day.

Por lo cual el Dios de Israel despertó el espíritu de Pul rey de los Asirios, y el espíritu de Tiglat-pileser rey de los Asirios, el cual transportó a los rubenitas y gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, y los llevó a Halah, a Habor a Ara, y al río de Gozán, hasta hoy.
