1 T he word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who dwelt in the land of Egypt, who dwelt at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,

Palabra que vino a Jeremías acerca de todos los judíos que moraban en la tierra de Egipto, que moraban en Migdol, en Tafnes, en Menfis, y en tierra de Patros, diciendo:

2 T hus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and behold they are, this day, a waste, and no man dwelleth therein,

Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: Vosotros habéis visto todo el mal que traje sobre Jerusalén y sobre todas las ciudades de Judá; y he aquí que ellas están el día de hoy asoladas; ni hay en ellas morador;

3 b ecause of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense to serve other gods which they knew not, they, ye, nor your fathers.

a causa de la maldad de ellos que cometieron, haciéndome enojar, yendo a ofrecer sahumerios, honrando dioses ajenos que ellos no habían conocido, vosotros, ni vuestros padres.

4 A nd I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing which I hate!

Y envié a vosotros a todos mis siervos los profetas, madrugando y enviándolos, diciendo: No hagáis ahora esta cosa abominable que yo aborrezco.

5 B ut they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.

Mas no oyeron ni inclinaron su oído para convertirse de su maldad, para no ofrecer sahumerios a dioses ajenos.

6 A nd my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are become a waste, a desolation, as at this day.

Se derramó, por tanto, mi saña y mi furor, y se encendió en las ciudades de Judá y en las plazas de Jerusalén, y se tornaron en soledad y en destrucción, como hoy.

7 A nd now thus saith Jehovah the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Wherefore commit ye great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and suckling, out of the midst of Judah, to leave you no remnant;

Ahora, pues, así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: ¿Por qué hacéis tan grande mal contra vuestras almas, para ser talados varón y mujer, niño y mamante, de en medio de Judá, ¿para qué no os deseáis remanente?

8 p rovoking me to anger with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye are come to sojourn, that ye should be cut off, and that ye should be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?

Haciéndome enojar por las obras de vuestras manos, ofreciendo sahumerios a dioses ajenos en la tierra de Egipto, adonde habéis entrado para morar, ¿para qué os acabéis, y seáis por maldición y por oprobio a todos los gentiles de la tierra?

9 H ave ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

¿Os habéis olvidado de las maldades de vuestros padres, y de las maldades de los reyes de Judá, y de las maldades de sus mujeres, y de vuestras maldades propias, y de las maldades de vuestras mujeres, que hicieron en tierra de Judá y en las plazas de Jerusalén?

10 T hey are not humbled unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes which I set before you and before your fathers.

No se han quebrantado hasta el día de hoy, ni han tenido temor, ni han caminado en mi ley, ni en mis derechos que puse delante de vosotros y delante de vuestros padres.

11 T herefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.

Por tanto, así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel: He aquí que yo pongo mi rostro en vosotros para mal, y para acabar a todo Judá.

12 A nd I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to enter into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed: in the land of Egypt shall they fall; they shall be consumed by the sword by the famine, from the least even unto the greatest; they shall die by the sword and by the famine, and they shall be an execration, an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.

Y tomaré el remanente de Judá que pusieron sus rostros para entrar en tierra de Egipto para morar allí, y todos serán consumidos en tierra de Egipto; caerán a espada, serán consumidos de hambre; de espada y hambre morirán desde el más pequeño hasta el mayor; y serán por juramento, y por espanto, y por maldición, y por oprobio.

13 A nd I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence;

Y visitaré a los que moran en tierra de Egipto, como visité a Jerusalén, con espada, con hambre, y con pestilencia.

14 a nd none of the remnant of Judah, that have come into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, so as to return into the land of Judah, whither they have a desire to return to dwell there; for none shall return but such as shall escape.

Y del remanente de Judá que entraron en tierra de Egipto para morar allí, no habrá quien escape, ni quien quede vivo, para volver a la tierra de Judá, por la cual suspiran ellos por volver para habitar allí; porque no volverán sino algunos fugitivos.

15 T hen all the men who knew that their wives burned incense to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assemblage, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,

Entonces todos los que sabían que sus mujeres habían ofrecido sahumerios a dioses ajenos, y todas las mujeres que estaban presentes, una gran concurrencia, y todo el pueblo que habitaba en tierra de Egipto, en Patros, respondieron a Jeremías, diciendo:

16 t he word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of Jehovah, we will not hearken unto thee,

La palabra que nos has hablado en nombre del SEÑOR, no la oiremos de ti;

17 b ut we will certainly do every word that is gone forth out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out drink-offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and we had plenty of bread, and were well, and saw no evil.

antes pondremos ciertamente por obra toda palabra que ha salido de nuestra boca, para ofrecer sahumerios a la reina del cielo, y derramándole libaciones, como hemos hecho nosotros y nuestros padres, nuestros reyes y nuestros príncipes, en las ciudades de Judá y en las plazas de Jerusalén, y fuimos llenos de pan, y estuvimos alegres, y nunca vimos mal.

18 B ut since we left off burning incense to the queen of the heavens, and pouring out drink-offerings to her, we have wanted everything, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

Mas desde que cesamos de ofrecer sahumerios a la reina del cielo, y de derramarle libaciones, nos falta todo, y a espada y a hambre somos consumidos.

19 A nd when we burned incense to the queen of the heavens and poured out drink-offerings to her, did we make for her cakes to portray her, and pour out drink-offerings to her, without our husbands?

Y cuando nosotras ofrecimos sahumerios a la reina del cielo, y le derramamos libaciones, ¿Por ventura le hicimos tortas para tributarle culto, y le derramamos libaciones, sin nuestros maridos?

20 A nd Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people that had given him that answer, saying,

Y habló Jeremías a todo el pueblo, a los hombres y a las mujeres, y a todo el vulgo que le había respondido esto, diciendo:

21 I s it not the incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye and your fathers, your kings and your princes and the people of the land, that Jehovah remembered, and that came into his mind?

¿Por ventura no se ha acordado el SEÑOR, y no ha venido a su memoria el sahumerio que ofrecisteis en las ciudades de Judá, y en las plazas de Jerusalén, vosotros y vuestros padres, vuestros reyes y vuestros príncipes, y el pueblo de la tierra?

22 A nd Jehovah could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, because of the abominations that ye had committed; and your land is become a waste, and an astonishment, and a curse, without inhabitant, as at this day.

Y no pudo sufrir más el SEÑOR a causa de la maldad de vuestras obras, a causa de las abominaciones que habíais hecho; por tanto, vuestra tierra fue puesta en asolamiento, en espanto, y en maldición, hasta no quedar morador, como sucede hoy.

23 B ecause ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against Jehovah, and have not hearkened unto the voice of Jehovah, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil hath come upon you, as at this day.

Porque ofrecisteis sahumerios, y pecasteis contra el SEÑOR, y no escuchasteis la voz del SEÑOR, ni anduvisteis en su ley, ni en sus derechos, ni en sus testimonios; por tanto, ha venido sobre vosotros este mal, como sucede hoy.

24 A nd Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear ye the word of Jehovah, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt.

Y dijo Jeremías a todo el pueblo, y a todas las mujeres: Oíd palabra del SEÑOR, todos los de Judá que estáis en tierra de Egipto:

25 T hus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hands, saying, We will certainly perform our vows which we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out drink-offerings unto her. Ye will certainly establish your vows, and entirely perform your vows.

Así habló el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel, diciendo: Vosotros y vuestras mujeres proferisteis con vuestra boca, y con vuestras manos lo ejecutasteis, diciendo: Cumpliremos efectivamente nuestros votos que hicimos, de ofrecer sahumerios a la reina del cielo y de derramarle libaciones; confirmáis a la verdad vuestros votos, y ponéis vuestros votos por obra.

26 T herefore hear ye the word of Jehovah, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith Jehovah, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, the Lord Jehovah liveth.

Por tanto, oíd palabra del SEÑOR, todo Judá que habitáis en tierra de Egipto: He aquí que yo juré por mi grande Nombre, dijo el SEÑOR, que mi Nombre no será más invocado de ningún varón judío, que diga: Vive el Señor DIOS, en toda la tierra de Egipto.

27 B ehold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good; and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.

He aquí que yo velo sobre ellos para mal, y no para bien; y todos los varones de Judá que están en tierra de Egipto, serán consumidos a espada y a hambre, hasta que sean consumidos.

28 A nd they that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, a very small company; and all the remnant of Judah, that have come into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose word shall stand, mine or theirs.

Y los que escaparen de la espada, volverán de tierra de Egipto a tierra de Judá, pocos hombres; para que sepa todo el remanente de Judá, que han entrado en Egipto para morar allí, la palabra de quién ha de permanecer, si la mía, o la suya.

29 A nd this shall be the sign unto you, saith Jehovah, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall certainly stand against you for evil:

Y esto tendréis por señal, dice el SEÑOR, de que en este lugar os visito, para que sepáis que de cierto permanecerán mis palabras para mal sobre vosotros.

30 t hus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will give Pharaoh-Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.

Así dijo el SEÑOR: He aquí que yo entrego al Faraón Hofra rey de Egipto en mano de sus enemigos, y en mano de los que buscan su alma, como entregué a Sedequías rey de Judá en mano de Nabucodonosor rey de Babilonia, su enemigo, y que buscaba su alma.
