1 A nd it came to pass when the king dwelt in his house, and Jehovah had given him rest round about from all his enemies,

¶ Y aconteció que, estando ya el rey asentado en su casa, después que el SEÑOR le había dado reposo de todos sus enemigos de alrededor,

2 t hat the king said to Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in a house of cedars, and the ark of God dwells under curtains.

dijo el rey al profeta Natán: Mira ahora, yo moro en casas de cedro, y el arca de Dios está entre cortinas.

3 A nd Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thy heart; for Jehovah is with thee.

Y Natán dijo al rey: Anda, y haz todo lo que está en tu corazón, que el SEÑOR está contigo.

4 A nd it came to pass that night that the word of Jehovah came to Nathan, saying,

¶ Y aconteció aquella noche, que vino palabra del SEÑOR a Natán, diciendo:

5 G o and say to my servant, to David, Thus saith Jehovah: Wilt thou build me a house for me to dwell in?

Ve y di a mi siervo David: Así dijo el SEÑOR: ¿Tú me has de edificar casa en que yo more?

6 F or I have not dwelt in a house since the day that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but I went about in a tent and in a tabernacle.

Ciertamente no he habitado en casas desde el día que saqué a los hijos de Israel de Egipto hasta hoy, sino que he andado en tienda y en tabernáculo.

7 I n all my going about with all the children of Israel, did I speak a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye me not a house of cedars?

Y en todo cuanto he andado con todos los hijos de Israel, ¿he hablado palabra en alguna de las tribus de Israel, a quien haya mandado que apaciente mi pueblo de Israel, para decir: ¿Por qué no me habéis edificado casa de cedros?

8 A nd now, thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: I took thee from the pasture-grounds, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel;

Ahora pues, dirás así a mi siervo David: Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Yo te tomé de la majada, de detrás de las ovejas, para que fueras príncipe sobre mi pueblo, sobre Israel;

9 a nd I have been with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are on the earth.

y he estado contigo en todo cuanto has andado, y delante de ti he talado todos tus enemigos, y te he hecho nombre grande, como el nombre de los grandes que están en la tierra.

10 A nd I will appoint a place for my people, for Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and be disturbed no more; neither shall the sons of wickedness afflict them any more, as formerly,

Además yo pondré lugar a mi pueblo Israel, y yo lo plantaré, para que habite en su lugar, y nunca más sea removido, ni los hijos de la iniquidad le aflijan más, como antes,

11 a nd since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. And I have given thee rest from all thine enemies; and Jehovah telleth thee that Jehovah will make thee a house.

desde el día que puse jueces sobre mi pueblo Israel. Y yo te daré descanso de todos tus enemigos. Asimismo el SEÑOR te hace saber, que él te quiere hacer casa a ti.

12 W hen thy days are fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

Y cuando tus días fueren cumplidos, y durmieres con tus padres, yo afirmaré tu simiente después de ti, la cual procederá de tus entrañas, y afirmaré su reino.

13 I t is he who shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

El edificará casa a mi nombre, y yo afirmaré para siempre el trono de su reino.

14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the sons of men;

Yo le seré a él padre, y él me será a mí hijo. Y si él cometiere iniquidad, yo le castigaré con vara de hombres, y con azotes de hijos de hombres;

15 b ut my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before thee.

pero mi misericordia no se apartará de él, como la aparté de Saúl, al cual quité de delante de ti.

16 A nd thy house and thy kingdom shall be made firm for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

Y será afirmada tu casa y tu reino para siempre delante de tu rostro; y tu trono será firme eternalmente.

17 A ccording to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.

Conforme a todas estas palabras, y conforme a toda esta visión, así habló Natán a David.

18 A nd king David went in and sat before Jehovah, and said, Who am I, Lord Jehovah, and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

¶ Y entró el rey David, y se sentó delante del SEÑOR, y dijo: Señor DIOS, ¿Quién soy yo, y qué es mi casa, para que tú me traigas hasta aquí?

19 A nd yet this hath been a small thing in thy sight, Lord Jehovah; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, Lord Jehovah?

Y aun te ha parecido poco esto, Señor DIOS, sino que hablas también de la casa de tu siervo en lo por venir, y que sea ésta la condición de un hombre, Señor DIOS.

20 A nd what can David say more to thee? for thou, Lord Jehovah, knowest thy servant.

¿Y qué más puede añadir David hablando contigo? Tú pues conoces a tu siervo, Señor DIOS.

21 F or thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, to make thy servant know.

Todas estas grandezas has obrado por tu palabra y conforme a tu corazón, haciéndolas saber a tu siervo.

22 W herefore thou art great, Jehovah Elohim; for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

Por tanto tú te has engrandecido, SEÑOR Dios; por cuanto no hay otro como tú, ni hay Dios fuera de ti, conforme a todo lo que hemos oído con nuestros oídos.

23 A nd who is like thy people, like Israel, the one nation in the earth that God went to redeem to be a people to himself, and to make himself a name, and to do for them great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thyself from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

¿Y quién como tu pueblo, como Israel, en la tierra? Un gentil por amor del cual Dios fuera a redimírselo por pueblo, y le pusiera nombre, e hiciera con vosotros, grandes y espantosas obras en tu tierra, por causa de tu pueblo el que tú rescataste de Egipto, de los gentiles y de sus dioses.

24 A nd thou hast established to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever; and thou, Jehovah, art become their God.

Porque tú has confirmado a tu pueblo Israel por pueblo tuyo para siempre; y tú, oh SEÑOR, fuiste a ellos por Dios.

25 A nd now, Jehovah Elohim, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house, fulfil it for ever, and do as thou hast said.

Ahora pues, SEÑOR Dios, la palabra que has hablado sobre tu siervo y sobre su casa, despiértala eternalmente, y haz conforme a lo que has dicho.

26 A nd let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, Jehovah of hosts is God over Israel; and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.

Porque así será engrandecido tu nombre para siempre, para que se diga: El SEÑOR de los ejércitos es Dios sobre Israel; y que la casa de tu siervo David sea firme delante de ti.

27 F or thou, Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee a house; therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.

Porque tú, SEÑOR de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel, revelaste al oído de tu siervo, diciendo: Yo te edificaré casa. Por esto tu siervo ha hallado en su corazón para orar delante de ti esta oración.

28 A nd now, Lord Jehovah, thou art that God, and thy words are true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant;

Ahora pues, SEÑOR Dios, tú eres Dios, y tus palabras serán firmes; pues has dicho a tu siervo este bien.

29 a nd now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever; for thou, Lord Jehovah, hast spoken it; and with thy blessing shall the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.

Ahora pues, quiere, y bendice a la casa de tu siervo, para que perpetuamente permanezca delante de ti; pues que tú, el SEÑOR Dios, lo has dicho, y con tu bendición será bendita la casa de tu siervo para siempre.
