1 N ebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits, its breadth six cubits; he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

El rey Nabucodonosor hizo una estatua de oro, la altura de la cual era de sesenta codos, su anchura de seis codos; la levantó en el campo de Dura, en la provincia de Babilonia.

2 A nd Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the justices, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

Y envió el rey Nabucodonosor a juntar los grandes, los asistentes y capitanes, jueces, tesoreros, los del concejo, presidentes, y a todos los gobernadores de las provincias, para que vinieran a la dedicación de la estatua que el rey Nabucodonosor había levantado.

3 T hen the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the justices, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

Fueron, pues, reunidos los grandes, los asistentes y capitanes, los oidores, receptores, los del concejo, los presidentes, y todos los gobernadores de las provincias, a la dedicación de la estatua que el rey Nabucodonosor había levantado; y estaban en pie delante de la estatua que había levantado el rey Nabucodonosor.

4 A nd the herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, peoples, nations, and languages,

Y el pregonero pregonaba en alta voz: Mándase a vosotros, oh pueblos, naciones, y lenguas,

5 t hat at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, pipe, lute, sambuca, psaltery, bagpipe, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up;

al oír el son de la bocina, de la flauta, del tamboril, del arpa, del salterio, de la zampoña, y de todo instrumento musical, os postraréis y adoraréis la estatua de oro que el rey Nabucodonosor ha levantado:

6 a nd whosoever doth not fall down and worship shall that same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

y cualquiera que no se postrare y la adorare, en la misma hora será echado dentro de un horno de fuego ardiendo.

7 T herefore at that time when all the peoples heard the sound of the cornet, pipe, lute, sambuca, psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the peoples, the nations, and the languages fell down worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

Por lo cual, al oír todos los pueblos el son de la bocina, de la flauta, del tamboril, del arpa, del salterio, de la zampoña, y de todo instrumento músico, todos los pueblos, naciones, y lenguas, se postraron, y adoraron la estatua de oro que el rey Nabucodonosor había levantado.

8 W hereupon at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.

Por esto en el mismo tiempo algunos varones caldeos se llegaron, y denunciaron de los judíos.

9 T hey spoke and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever!

Hablando y diciendo al rey Nabucodonosor: rey, para siempre vive.

10 T hou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, pipe, lute, sambuca, psaltery, and bagpipe, and all kinds of music, shall fall down and worship the golden image;

Tú, oh rey, pusiste ley que todo hombre al oír el son de la bocina, de la flauta, del tamboril, del arpa, del salterio, de la zampoña, y de todo instrumento musical, se postrara y adorara la estatua de oro:

11 a nd whosoever doth not fall down and worship, shall be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.

y el que no se postrara y la adorara, fuera echado dentro del horno de fuego ardiendo.

12 T here are certain Jews whom thou hast appointed over the administration of the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego: these men, O king, regard thee not; they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image that thou hast set up.

Hay unos varones judíos, los cuales tú pusiste sobre los negocios de la provincia de Babilonia; Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego; estos varones, oh rey, no han hecho cuenta de ti; no adoran tus dioses, no adoran la estatua de oro que tú levantaste.

13 T hen Nebuchadnezzar in rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. Then were these men brought before the king.

Entonces Nabucodonosor dijo con ira y con enojo que trajeran a Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego. Luego fueron traídos estos varones delante del rey.

14 N ebuchadnezzar spoke and said unto them, Is it of purpose, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, that ye serve not my god, nor worship the golden image that I have set up?

Habló Nabucodonosor, y les dijo: ¿Es verdad Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego, que vosotros no honráis a mi dios, ni adoráis la estatua de oro que yo levanté?

15 N ow if ye be ready at the time that ye hear the sound of the cornet, pipe, lute, sambuca, psaltery, and bagpipe, and all kinds of music, to fall down and worship the image that I have made,: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast that same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace: and who is the God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

Ahora, pues, ¿estáis prestos para que oyendo el son de la bocina, de la flauta, del tamboril, del arpa, del salterio, de la zampoña, y de todo instrumento de música, os postréis, y adoréis la estatua que yo hice? Porque si no la adorareis, en la misma hora seréis echados en medio del horno de fuego ardiendo; ¿y qué dios será aquel que os libre de mis manos?

16 S hadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer thee in this matter.

Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego respondieron y dijeron al rey Nabucodonosor: no cuidamos de responderte sobre este negocio.

17 I f it be, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver out of thy hand, O king.

He aquí, nuestro Dios a quien honramos, puede librarnos del horno de fuego ardiendo; y de tu mano, oh rey, nos librará.

18 B ut if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image that thou hast set up.

Y si no, sepas, oh rey, que a tu dios no adoraremos, y la estatua que tú levantaste, no honraremos.

19 T hen was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego. He spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

Entonces Nabucodonosor fue lleno de ira, y se demudó la figura de su rostro sobre Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego; habló, y mandó que el horno se encendiera siete veces más de lo que cada vez solía.

20 A nd he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, and cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

Y mandó a hombres muy vigorosos que tenía en su ejército, que ataran a Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego, para echarlos en el horno de fuego ardiendo.

21 T hen these men were bound in their hosen, their tunics, and their cloaks, and their garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

Entonces estos varones fueron atados con sus mantos, sus calzas, sus turbantes, y sus vestidos, y fueron echados dentro del horno de fuego ardiendo.

22 F orasmuch as the king's commandment was rigorous, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that had taken up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego.

Porque la palabra del rey daba prisa, y había procurado que se encendiera mucho, la llama del fuego mató a aquellos hombres que habían alzado a Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego.

23 A nd these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

Y estos tres varones, Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego, cayeron atados dentro del horno de fuego ardiendo.

24 T hen Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste; he spoke and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said to the king, True, O king.

Entonces Nabucodonosor se espantó, y se levantó aprisa, y habló, y dijo a los de su consejo: ¿No echamos tres varones atados dentro del fuego? Ellos respondieron y dijeron al rey: Es verdad, oh rey.

25 H e answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of God.

Respondió él y dijo: He aquí que yo veo cuatro varones sueltos, que se pasean en medio del fuego, y ningún daño hay en ellos; y el parecer del cuarto es semejante al hijo de Dios.

26 T hen Nebuchadnezzar came near to the opening of the burning fiery furnace; he spoke and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, ye servants of the Most High God, come forth, and come. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego came forth from the midst of the fire.

Entonces Nabucodonosor se acercó a la puerta del horno de fuego ardiendo, y habló y dijo: Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego, siervos del alto Dios, salid y venid. Entonces Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego, salieron de en medio del fuego.

27 A nd the satraps, the prefects, and the governors, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had had no power, nor was the hair of their head singed, neither were their hosen changed, nor had the smell of fire passed on them.

Y se juntaron los grandes, los gobernadores, y los capitanes, y los del consejo del rey, para mirar a estos varones, cómo el fuego no se enseñoreó de sus cuerpos, ni el cabello de sus cabezas fue quemado, ni sus ropas se mudaron, ni olor de fuego pasó por ello.

28 N ebuchadnezzar spoke and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants who trusted in him, and who changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God!

Nabucodonosor habló y dijo: Bendito el Dios de ellos, de Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego, que envió su ángel, y libró a sus siervos que esperaron en él, y el mandamiento del rey mudaron, y entregaron sus cuerpos antes que sirvieran ni adoraran otro dios que su Dios.

29 T herefore I make a decree, that in every people, nation, and language, he who shall speak anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, shall be cut in pieces, and his house shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that is able to deliver after this sort.

Por mí, pues, se pone decreto, que todo pueblo, nación, o lengua, que dijere blasfemia contra el Dios de Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego, sea descuartizado, y su casa sea puesta por muladar; por cuanto no hay otro dios que pueda librar como éste.

30 T hen the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego in the province of Babylon.

Entonces el rey ennobleció a Sadrac, Mesac, y Abed-nego en la provincia de Babilonia.
