1 A nd when Solomon had ended praying, the fire came down from the heavens and consumed the burnt-offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of Jehovah filled the house.

Y cuando Salomón acabó de orar, el fuego descendió de los cielos, y consumió el holocausto y las víctimas; y la gloria del SEÑOR llenó la Casa.

2 A nd the priests could not enter into the house of Jehovah, because the glory of Jehovah filled Jehovah's house.

Y no podían entrar los sacerdotes en la Casa del SEÑOR, porque la gloria del SEÑOR había llenado la Casa del SEÑOR.

3 A nd all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of Jehovah upon the house, and bowed themselves with their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshipped and thanked Jehovah: For he is good, for his loving-kindness for ever.

Y cuando vieron todos los hijos de Israel descender el fuego y la gloria del SEÑOR sobre la Casa, cayeron en tierra en el solado sobre sus rostros, y adoraron, confesando al SEÑOR diciendo: Que es bueno, que su misericordia es para siempre.

4 A nd the king and all the people offered sacrifices before Jehovah.

Entonces el rey y todo el pueblo sacrificaron víctimas delante del SEÑOR.

5 A nd king Solomon sacrificed a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

Y ofreció el rey Salomón en sacrificio veintidós mil bueyes, y ciento veinte mil ovejas; y así dedicaron la Casa de Dios el rey y todo el pueblo.

6 A nd the priests stood in their charges, and the Levites with Jehovah's instruments of music, which David the king had made to praise Jehovah, for his loving-kindness for ever, when David praised by their means; and the priests sounded the trumpets opposite to them, and all Israel stood.

Y los sacerdotes estaban sobre sus guardas; y los levitas con los instrumentos de música del SEÑOR, los cuales había hecho el rey David para confesar al SEÑOR, porque su misericordia es para siempre; cuando David confesaba por mano de ellos. Asimismo los sacerdotes tocaban trompetas delante de ellos, y todo Israel estaba en pie.

7 A nd Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of Jehovah; for there he offered the burnt-offerings, and the fat of the peace-offerings, because the brazen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt-offerings and the oblations and the fat.

También santificó Salomón el medio del atrio que estaba delante de la Casa del SEÑOR, por cuanto había ofrecido allí los holocaustos, y los sebos de los pacíficos; porque en el altar de bronce que Salomón había hecho, no podían caber los holocaustos, y el presente, y los sebos.

8 A nd at that time Solomon held the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entrance of Hamath unto the torrent of Egypt.

Entonces hizo Salomón fiesta siete días, y con él todo Israel, una gran congregación, desde la entrada de Hamat hasta el arroyo de Egipto.

9 A nd on the eighth day they held a solemn assembly; for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

Al octavo día hicieron convocación, porque habían hecho la dedicación del altar en siete días, y habían celebrado la fiesta solemne por siete días.

10 A nd on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that Jehovah had done to David and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

Y a los veintitrés del mes séptimo envió al pueblo a sus estancias, alegres y gozosos de corazón por los beneficios que el SEÑOR había hecho a David, y a Salomón, y a su pueblo Israel.

11 A nd Solomon completed the house of Jehovah, and the king's house; and all that came into Solomon's heart to make in the house of Jehovah, and in his own house, he did prosperously.

Acabó, pues, Salomón la Casa del SEÑOR, y la casa del rey; y todo lo que Salomón tuvo en voluntad de hacer en la Casa del SEÑOR y en su casa, fue prosperado.

12 T hen Jehovah appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: I have heard thy prayer, and I have chosen for myself this place for a house of sacrifice.

Y apareció el SEÑOR a Salomón de noche, y le dijo: Yo he oído tu oración, y he elegido para mí este lugar por una Casa de sacrificio.

13 I f I shut up the heavens that there be no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

Si yo cerrare los cielos, que no haya lluvia, y si mandare a la langosta que consuma la tierra, o si enviare pestilencia a mi pueblo;

14 a nd my people, who are called by my name, humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from the heavens, and forgive their sin, and heal their land.

si se humillare mi pueblo, sobre los cuales ni nombre es invocado, y oraren, y buscaren mi rostro, y se convirtieren de sus caminos malos; entonces yo oiré desde los cielos, y perdonaré sus pecados, y sanaré su tierra.

15 N ow mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attentive to the prayer in this place;

Ahora estarán abiertos mis ojos, y atentos mis oídos, a la oración en este lugar;

16 f or I have now chosen and hallowed this house, that my name may be there for ever; and mine eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

así que ahora he elegido y santificado esta Casa, para que esté en ella mi Nombre para siempre; y mis ojos y mi corazón estarán ahí para siempre.

17 A nd thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and mine ordinances;

Y tú, si anduvieres delante de mí, como anduvo David tu padre, e hicieres todas las cosas que yo te he mandado, y guardares mis estatutos y mis derechos,

18 t hen will I establish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to rule over Israel.

yo confirmaré el trono de tu reino, como concerté con David tu padre, diciendo: No faltará varón de ti que domine en Israel.

19 B ut if ye turn away and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them;

Mas si vosotros os volviereis, y dejareis mis estatutos y mis mandamientos que os he propuesto, y fuereis y sirviereis a dioses ajenos, y los adorareis,

20 t hen will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed to my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

yo los arrancaré de mi tierra que les he dado; y esta Casa que he santificado a mi Nombre, yo la echaré de delante de mí, y la pondré por proverbio y fábula en todos los pueblos.

21 A nd this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passes by it; so that he shall say, Why has Jehovah done thus to this land and to this house?

Y esta Casa que es tan ilustre, será espanto a todo el que pasare, y dirá: ¿Por qué ha hecho así el SEÑOR a esta tierra y a esta Casa?

22 A nd they shall say, Because they forsook Jehovah the God of their fathers, who brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and have attached themselves to other gods, and have worshipped them and served them; therefore he has brought upon them all this evil.

Y le será respondido: Por cuanto dejaron al SEÑOR Dios de sus padres, el cual los sacó de la tierra de Egipto, y echaron mano de dioses ajenos, y los adoraron y sirvieron; por eso él ha traído todo este mal sobre ellos.
